i love to play with france, viva la france ! because the varity of mele and cavalry units which can offer a chellenge and more options in every battle and can adapt many terrains too, but the bombard and heavy infantry strategey is my favourite.

I just wanted to chime in with a disclaimer since I know what some people are gonna say in this thread at some point. The rosters aren't complete, particularly the Middle Eastern factions. So keep that in mind and that your opinions will likely change as we go on.

Fav of course is the Byzantine factions mainly Nicaea. Not only are they historically rich but its awesome. I love their units, they have a unique look to them with their lil kettle helmets, amazing armour patterns and colours and of course the varangians which i hope get a high and late version. That be awesome as they where at the last siege of Constantinople. That said i really hope they get
more units namely infantry and of course Emperor Constantine . Forgot to add about flame thrower units which i know is a pain to add but heres to hoping.

Least fav so far would be from the east the Ayyubids and from the west the Teutons, though i love the Teutons its just their infantry. Both lack infantry even though they got good 2 handed axes they lack good swords and shields for them pesky towers, archers and longevity in combat. Of course they will get more units in the future (as many other factions which need them) but thats my only problem with them so far. Would like to see Trebizond get some Georgian troops and Teutons get some crusaders.

I am mostly interested in the Steppe, Balkan, and Middle Eastern factions, but if I have to choose one it would be the Bulgarians (as of now) since they are the most fleshed out of the Eastern factions, second to them comes the Cumans. My least favourite would probably be Armenia because of their lacklustre roster and bland outfits.

as far as appearances go, my choice is always the Holy Roman Empire. Those Imperial and Bavarian knights look particularly cool. But for the gameplay, I'm more of a horse archer + heavy shock cavalry guy, so my favorite would be factions like the Georgians, the Cumans, and the like.

by competetivity:fav-bulgarians only bulgarians doesnt have op units and are only well made faction(unit statistic wise not name or look)
least fav-crusaders because of their OP unit stats
by look of units:fav crusaders,awesome work on the units,least fav bulgarians,too western looking + they got access to some units that shouldnt have (german knights and condottieri)

The Ayubbids and the Sultanate of Rum lack a bunch of infantry units and very little variety. Especially the Sultanate of Rum. Their roster is just terrible, extrememly little options. I hope u can put more units into them. They desperately need it.
