The FitzAlan family are greatly saddened to announce the passing of Earl Harrold FitzAlan, dead of a fever. The Earl fought with bravery at Towton for King Edward IV, receiving a grievous wound that was nearly the end of him that very day, but survived by the grace of God. Alas since retiring home shortly afterwards, tended by his surviving son Richard and much saddened by the loss of his second son, Godwin, in that same battle, the Earl struggled from illness to illness, never shaking his near brush with death on the battlefield.
The fever finally took him, as he was found dead in his own bed.
