Character Birth and Adoption Rules
1-5: Mother dies in childbirth, child survives
6-10: Mother and child die in childbirth
10-15: healthy child born, mother rendered barren
15-60: Healthy boy born
61-100: Healthy girl born


A character may be adopted into the family as well. Adoption was a common practice in Rome. A random roll will be done to determine traits, but the player may control to some extent the back story of the character to be adopted.
