Playable faction choice! Why the Delmatae over the Ardiaei?
As the title suggests, what were the reasons for choosing the Delmatae over the Ardiaei by also giving them a settlement. I believe organization and power wise it should have been the other way around where the Delmatae could be introduced as a horde faction.
And will there be any simple preview of the Illyrian factions? At least some unit models. I believe those are the only factions not shown, not even in any Youtube video so far.
Cheers!

Certain things get determined by the map. Rome had already taken control of much of the coastal Greek cities. CA shifted the regions inwards from the coast compared to Rome II. The Ardiaei historically were located in a region just not given a settlement on the map.
From 202 BC on, I'd say that the Dalmatae were the more important tribe historically playing a role in the Third Illyrian War (which was pretty minor itself), then provoking Roman campaigns multiple other times before the large scale revolt which was the most significant event to me.
Then there's UI constraints in some areas and time constraints. I want it set-up so at least eventually the player can pretty easily change playable factions modding wise (just clicking one box in a table), but setting up playables can be a pain. We also have to factor in UI with how many playables we provide as there's only space to present a certain number neatly before they start going off the designated area in Attila in the faction selection screen. I believe there are 4 'Balkan' factions we intended to have playable initially.

Yeah, it makes sense.
Attila's map is very disadvantageous when it comes to representing the Balkans due to the higher number of important kingdoms per area when compared to the other regions. Only a mini campaign would be able to fill up those gapes.
