Victory had finally been achieved! Despite the unfortunate events that had befallen the Yorkist cause as of recent, Edward of March was able to take control of London, who opened their gates willingly and welcomed the young king into their walls. Those with Edward still could hearing the ringing of cheers and the clamor of the people as they welcomed their saviors to the heart of England. Yet all was not well with the Yorkists for Henry VI had been retaken by the Lancastrians and his supporters were still at large and surely gathering men for a final confrontation. London was but a temporary stop before Edward would have to march once more to clash with the armies of the Red Rose.
Banners all over London had been replaced with the staunch White Rose and the crests of other Yorkist nobility which hung high in the air and brought a sense of peace to the people of London who had long endured the hardships of Lancaster rule. A regime that had brought them nothing but misery and despair. Those that followed the late Duke of York's son knew they would not be here for long though. True, they needed some respite and a moment of peace, but they would be on the move once more. On the move to clash with Henry's soldiers and supporters for control of England.
Presently, Edward was housed at Westminister Palace, where he held court daily with his supporters and tended to necessary matters that needed his attention. Though not a King yet, the young Plantagenet showed an aptitude for ruling just as he showed his military prowess on the battlefield at Mortimer's Cross. It was no wonder that such a young man could garner the favor and support of powerful men like Warwick and Norfolk. Yet the clock clicked down to the final confrontation which was inevitable more than ever with each passing day.
