    Default General Setting Information

    The year is 1461 and we begin in the month of March.

    Edward of March, taking up the efforts of his father, the late Richard, Duke of York, and aiming for a higher purpose, has taken control of London, despite a strong of recent Lancastrian victories. His own victory, achieved at Mortimer's Cross, has won him fame and respect, showing off his military capabilities despite his young age. Joined by the Earl of Warwick, Richard Neville, Edward has managed to take control of the heart of England, but does not hold the realm nor the crown itself. For power still rests within the hands of the reigning Henry VI, who was retaken by the Lancastrians after the Second Battle of St. Albans. Despite their victory at St. Albans, the Queen, Margaret of Anjou, was hesitant. London had refused her entry as they had become a haven of Yorkist supporters due the ineffective government policies of the Lancasters, barring her from capitalizing on her victory. Then word came of the Yorkist victory at Mortimer's Cross, forcing her to ultimately retreat northward to friendly territory in Northumberland. A great number of Scots and Border troops deserted the Lancastrian army as it moved north.

    The stage is set between the two armies for a decisive clash that will ultimately determine the fate of England. For upon the snowy fields of Towton will the White and Red Roses clash in a titantic struggle to claim the crown.

    =================

    Upon Friday, the 23rd, the Lancastrians and Yorkists will clash upon the snowy plains of Towton to determine the fate of England. The battle will be unscripted, save for the army compositions which will be premade, allowing for either side to determine who wins by the skill of their arms and the capability of their commanders. During this week before Towton, begin planning your future objectives, make your friendships and ensure your position is secure for the side you chose to support. The status quo is in effect; no people may switch sides before Towton in the hopes of better rewards or anything. After Towton, nobles may switch sides due to the outcome. No assassinations may be allowed either during this time.

    In order for Edward to be King, he must defeated, captured and/or kill Henry Vi. Other Yorkist claimants are George and Richard Plantagenet who are away in Calais and near the Yorkist-allied territory of Burgundy. Edward of Westminister will most likely be where his mother and father are, which is currently in Northumberland.

    Let's play fair and have fun with this! This isn't a game about winning, but a game to play and enjoy. A defeat does not mean the end, but an opportunity. Go with the flow and have fun with it!
