Carrhae possible or not ?

I wish to know if anyone has win The historical battle of Carrhae as it is in the original game ? on Very hard ?:hmmm:

the only way you can win maybe is that you have been a reincarnate of Caesar himself!
even in easy the possibility of screwing up on this battle is great. but i did win when in easy but i'll have to contend with less than 20 legionnaires and 26 cavalry to chase down those Persian Archers

If you know your history alot of those battles were lost by your army.

It's beatable up until you play it on Very Hard. Then it just gets really difficult because their cataphracts just slaughter you

You have got to be kidding me?! well i got a stinkin plan that might work..........
use your cav to stop the charge then rush in the legions to cut down the cataphracts!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You could draw in the Cataphracts and surround them with Legionares while your calvary draws the attention of their horse archers. Or you can just edit the RTW/Data/World/Maps/Battle/Carrhae/Descr_Battle to make your troops alot stonger and theirs alot weaker.

What I did was before the cataphracts have a chance, I sacrifice my one and only cav unit (not Crassus) to stop the cataphract onslaught, then I run my legions to the cataphracts and pray i beat them.

hmm..lookin back..when i played them..i only managed a victory on the easiest setting available.i just 'untestudoed' at the last moment before the cataphract charge and confronted them.as it turnd out..lucky hit!i managed to use may cavalry and pincer a unit of ctph and tat gave me a open look to escape with a fraction of legionnaries to the top of a small hill.then the chtp gt reduced by my half army tat gt...complty demolished lol

...but they were reduced so it was not tat bad..just scrapped tru the rest.only had like ..less than a unit of legion and crassus with ..6bodyguards..
but i think this battle was harder than the german ambush ya?

I played this many times a year ago and couldnt win it on very hard.

Tried it recently and won it for the first and only time.

The key was defeating the Cats. Own cavalry got their attention and led them across the base of the hill. Pila fired downhill into the cats flanks did the trick. Once it was only horse archers to fight it was into testudo.

Killing both the enemy generals is also a big plus.

Damn Severous you are a God! How can any mortal complete Carrhae on vh/vh? Then again, I've read your German Defensive campaign, not the work of a human that's for sure.
