Wow, the models you guys have made are pretty amazing, great work. Is it possible by any chance that you can make a factions armour colour static so they don't change colour depending on which clan you play as? (E.g instead of all of the Shimazu clans units wearing green armour, they would wear a mix of blacks and browns and other more historically accurate colours). I think this would make the men within a unit have a lot more variety as well as making the game much more historically accurate. Anyway I love what you have done so far, good luck with the mod.

Also would you consider doing a sub mod of Shogun 2 Total Realism. Shogun 2 is by far my favourite game but (being the historically authentic nitpicker I am) it admit that some some aspects of it do lack flavour and accuracy. Your mods combined would be my dream game. I can link his thread below if you want. Anyway I better stop spam posting your thread.

So, is this mod basically a Vastator Unit Style mod? Just visuals?

I apologize if I haven't scanned through all 5 pages.

    Looks good [good work]!

Oh, and can I try to help with mod compatibility?

Yes it is but school is taking it's toll, so we are trying to re assemble our refrence, stay tune!

Also here are some stuff we have been doing:

Saika Shi Teppo ( Saika Sharpshooters)

Magoichi Saika is a Firearms expert with his band of companions who themself are equipped with custom armor and helmet, the Saika Shi Teppo troopers have a diffrent helmet then that of a normal Teppo bushi

Some test with the Retainers with randomized armors ( Helmets are still being fixed)

Glad to see that the mod is still active. I'm eagerly awaiting the tatamidou which is sorely missing from this game. They would suit my Ashigaru units quite well.

First Devlog of our mod, 17/11/2018

Sorry for the inactivity which has been quite apperent and also long, but behind such inactivity i can assure you we are working our hardest to ensure quality, perhaps its due to the fact we dont communicate with our discord as much but after all that waiting finnaly i have got stuff to show so first of all, we've been working our hardest for unit equipments

    TORSO :

    Okashi Do-Maru

    https://gyazo.com/982e9f15123cc9ad57b209392dfbf5e6

Okashi ( translated as Ammunition) was a cheap version of a certain armor piece or in some cases a " Loan Armor" usually the Armor would not have a full set rather piece's from diffrent armor's combined into one as a cheaper alternative and degraded armor

    Do-Maru

    https://gyazo.com/fe2ba2263c41de35ff6ce3bf2b2d590b

The Do-Maru was considered a Semi-Modern Armor, however it's usage has been noted since the 14th or maybe 13th Century, however diffrent type's of this armor varies depending on the era's, but one thing for sure the armor was mad eout of these lace's with a steel part covering the upper chest, more of the chacteristic of a Do-Maru was the lace's which were called " Keibiki Odoshi " this armor was popular in the Azuchi Momoyama all the way to the Boshin period, the last recorded usage of this Armor is actually during the Satsuma Rebellion. The Do-Maru usually has alot of variation of pattern be it on the laces or the steel part, as seen in the illustration below :

    https://gyazo.com/fe2ba2263c41de35ff6ce3bf2b2d590b

    Hara-Ate ( Do Maru)

    https://gyazo.com/a66c1bcd0ab8a5e17d2d0e288627022a

Hara-Ate meaning ( Half Armor) was again a degraded version of cheaper version of a certain armor, where it only protects the front part of the toroso with two straps hooked to the plates and tied to the back, this Armor was very commonly used by Ashigaru or even Low-Ranking Samurai's, such Armor was meant as a desperate attempt at protection rather then anythng

    https://gyazo.com/a66c1bcd0ab8a5e17d2d0e288627022a

    https://gyazo.com/221402beced070f29d9279ba07e59136

    HELMETS:

    Hari Bachi ( Low)

    https://gyazo.com/5ec032a330ebe2963c1287be5edc9f7a

This style of Hari Bachi is commonly seen worn by Low Ranking Ashigaru or even Samurai's it consist of Goshozan ( Shape of the bowl) and has 8 lames on the helmet with a Gesan style of Neckpiece with 3 Pannels each, with a Sugake odoshi type of lacing ( the X nots)

    Hari Bachi ( Medium)

    https://gyazo.com/c14f2873ae6b21610bd250ed9f298430

This Style of Hari Bachi is commonly seen by Samurai's of the medium tier to high tier, it consist of also a Goshozan Bachi ( Bowl shape) with 8 Lame's aswell, with a Etchu type of Neckpiece with 5 plates with a Keibiki Odoshi lacing style

    Hari Bachi ( High)

    https://gyazo.com/fb8ca2b4dd3ef6784993dacf46a67517

I suppose the name should tell that this is used by mostly high tier Samurai's, and it consist of a Tenkokuzan style of Bowl shape and a 24 Lame's with a Komanju type of Neckpiece with 5 piece's with Keibiki Odoshi lace's and also an Egawa Pattern on the ear piece.

    Suji Bachi ( Low)

    https://gyazo.com/42c9157fc7f4ec47b06fc92b4fbcd150

This is a low tier Suji Bachi as seen more simplistic with a Koseizan (Bowl shape) and a Komanju Neckpiece and also Keibiki Odoshi Lacing style

    Suji Bachi ( Medium)

    https://gyazo.com/ae3591fc69dd601f177816c99442d3eb

This is a Medium Tier Suji Bachi made up of Koseizan ( Bowl SHape) with an Etchu Neckpiece and also 24 Lames with Keibiki Odoshi lacing style

    Suji Bachi ( High)

    https://gyazo.com/9db0c96edd3d31b918c209f4509849db

A High Tier Suji Bachi made up of a Koseizan ( Bowl Shape) with 62 Lames on the Helmet with Komanju Neckpiece and also Keibiki Odoshi lacing with a Egawa pattern on earpiece

    Oboshi Kabuto ( Low)

    https://gyazo.com/f45644d79c62e25c8fdb3838347d40d3

Worn by Samurai normally made up of a Tenkokuzan ( Bowl Shape) with 24 Lames and a Kasa style Neckpiece with Sugake odoshi lacing type and also a Hishinui Odoshi lace on the Earpiece

    Oboshi Kabuto ( Medium)

    https://gyazo.com/695459fe6d8ca98f9a0f16e8f67b81c1

Worn by Samurai and Some high tier's, made up of Heichozan ( Bowl Shape) with 24 Lames and Komanju Neck piece with Keibiki Odoshi style of lace and also Egawa pattern on Earpiece

    Oboshi Kabuto ( High)

    https://gyazo.com/fb53daa4e78a724e85206d266eb7d6e4

Worn by High class samurai and of course lord's and warlord's made up of Heichozan and 24 Lames and Komanju neck piece with a Keibiki odoshi Lacing style with Egawa on ear piece

    HATS:

    Kazaore Eboshi

    https://gyazo.com/5996a262cbece731e038c62add5b3dee

Commonly worn by The people of the time it translate as ( Wind swept cap) as seen the slouch on the hat, will be seen worn by Zohyo or low tier units

    Nae-Eboshi

    https://gyazo.com/98dcf506f2db96e7943e7414799f846c

Another commonly worn by people of the time i belive the hat translate to " Flimsy hat" as it was shapeable and rather loose on the head.

    Hira-Jingasa

    https://gyazo.com/fcbe73b1acba93f82ed942cc749a8603

Jingasa meaning ( Camp hat ) or ( Campaign hat) is made out of Paper, Iron or sometimes Straw, however this piece of Jingasa is diffrent as its called " Hira" which specified that this type of Jingasa is more thin and in some ways looks squashed

OMG great work! Just found your mod. Any way you can edit a helmet to not include the neck cover? But i'd imagine that would be pretty hard. I'm trying to look for a japanese-style pickhelm inspired by the Purssian 1870s helmet to customize my units for a mod.
