@ Baggins : good to know you solved your problem. However, don't forget to share it here, in case other people'd be in need...

IIRC you need 25 posts before you can begin editing them.
I tend to edit my posts once or several times after writing and uploading them. Please keep this in mind when reading a recent post of mine. Also, should someone, for some unimaginable reason, wish to rep me, please add your username in the process, so I can at least know whom to be grateful towards.

    My thanks in advance.

The 4GB patch is modifying the executable and as such discussion and links will not be permitted (see rule 13) .

Thus, communism, in particular, is a dogmatic abstraction; in which connection, however, I am not thinking of some imaginary and possible communism, but actually existing communism as taught by Cabet, Dézamy, Weitling, etc. This communism is itself only a special expression of the humanistic principle, an expression which is still infected by its antithesis – the private system. Hence the abolition of private property and communism are by no means identical, and it is not accidental but inevitable that communism has seen other socialist doctrines – such as those of Fourier, Proudhon, etc. – arising to confront it because it is itself only a special, one-sided realisation of the socialist principle."

Would just like to add (and I'm adding this to my original post) that this problem (post-battle CTD's) has been fixed 100% by waiting 15 seconds before clicking to return to the campaign map after a battle.

Played hundreds of hours since I made this thread and not a single CTD after battle because I waited 15 seconds.

This is something I've been doing since EB1, which worked a treat back then. It's to do with giving your machine time to close down the battle engine properly before resuming the campaign engine.

Maybe ask z3n if he can work that into the battle script - disable (and flash) the return button for a given period.

It didn't make much of a difference for me in EB1, in fact those post-battle CTD's were pretty much the reason I eventually stopped playing (though I admit, after many thousands of hours since 2005 when it first released, it was probably time to stop anyhow as EB2 was nearing completion). It does work 100% with EB2 though. Thanks a lot man.
