    AOR

Ready AOR (Area Of Recruitment) for the mod, obtained on the basis of full investigation late-ancient document
    Notitia Dignitatum.
The mod will be their 40: 26 pieces for the Roman "federates" and 14 for all the factions that will capture this area and will be able to hire local special units.

    Important information!
The first chapter is completely finished, we started to develop the second chapter!
This means that - the final version of the 014 in this chapter. Next version will be updated to version 020 - the second chapter mod.
Explanation: The version of the 015-019 will not be updated, now you have to wait for version 020!

Great! Looking forward to the AOR.

By the way, I noticed that there are some small Chi-Rho symbols on Domestici Pedites' helmets, the detail is amazing! Will you overhaul other vanilla units in the future?

    Thank you!
    Necessarily do it!
This is a project with the historical trend and the main task is to show the Roman and barbarian army in this period.
Currently, we have studied and deciphered 70-80% of the text Notitia Dignitatum:
    http://late-roman.ru/notitia-dignita...inskie-chasti/
We plan to revive all units of the Roman army of the Notitia Dignitatum !!!
All that is deciphered. I repeat - it is 70-80% of the manuscript.
We can not yet about to count the number of units, the study continues, but I think there will be more than 500 units.

Following items we are now doing - line Milites 7-16 units.

    Version 0.1.6 - not updated!

We have studied and understood as the line should look like the historicity of the Roman army in a computer game and are ready to submit it!

    Roman line of troops

Two types of armies, one of which with its division into castes. Each entry under more than one type of unit, and a large group of units of a class! The basis is taken from the number of units cohort, Equites, not classes parts - the legion, Auxilia and so on.! Below are the units in combat authority, from simple to complex.

    Limitanei - frontier army
Milites, Numerus, Legionis (Legion, and the Legion is not!), Auxiliares, Equites, Cuneus equitum

Comitatensis - field armies; Army composed during the reign
Comitatensis: Legionis, Equites, Cuneus equitum, Comites
Palatina: Auxiliares, Legionis, Equites, Cuneus equitum, Comites, Schola

    -------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------- -----
The first group finished units milites, consists of 16 units, 13 of which are new!

    Milites

Basic (hiring of construction of buildings):

    defensores
    armigeri
    balistarii
    praeventores
    exploratores
    superventores

AOP (hiring of cultural zones on the map):

    cimbriani
    dacisci
    dalmatae
    italici
    mauri
    menapii
    moesiaci
    nervii
    scythici
    tungricani

... Patch is very large, hence skipping within the meaning of the version. For the same reason, to put all the information, including screenshots is very difficult, so the screenshots will be presented a little later!

Figures on the boards is not fictional, but do not belong to Milites - since these figures are not represented in the Notitia Dignitatum, but being based on other pictures, similar in name, and if there are none then the others.

    Milites defensores

They are appointed for 5 years by the Emperor or the praetorian prefect, and certainly not of the kurialov. Defenzory gradually concentrated in the hands of wide administrative and police law. They monitored the implementation of laws, especially in religious matters, gained control of the municipal police, and became one of the main responsible for order in the cities of the empire.

Ready to reconstruction of the helmet of the Worms.
Left - complete reconstruction: silvered dome, with decorative silver balls on the crest.
The remaining alternative to the existing analogues: a second gold-plated and silver balls, the third just iron, the fourth - tired iron.

Hello Grif, this is really very nice.
But, in order to be historically accurate, two remarks:
    - i hope your milites are wearing lorica hamata : most of the units you are actually showing were crack units with a great equipment, not only armigeri.
    - when you say for instance that milites cimbriani are still soldiers from those tribes, it is false : with time the soldiers of those regular units were roman, with some barbarian enroled individually.
Keep on that massive ggod work !
For some info on different western unit, using a translator pluggin you can go there : https://comitatusgaulois.wordpress.com/

    CROWNROBIN
Thank you for your kind words!

    Majorien
I fully agree with you! If I understand you correctly .. (I use only Google translator).

Most legionnaires had good armor! But this is not the legionnaires, these guys Milites!

cimbriani - not quite federates! That's right, they are trained in the Roman army. But we believe that it is not purebred Romans and not mercenaries. In Notitia all they have and are described by some historians.
Federate this Auxilia - they are not ready, and will be later.

Oh sure! You can make sub-mod!
By the way, we need developers to team! The only rule - historicity!
