The Muster of the Ships (Northern fleet call-up)
Lord Ryswell had determined that the meeting point would be the Stoney Shore, that is where he had raised his own boats. He proceeded to write a letter to all the Lords of the Western shores in order to command them to send their own force.
The fleet was likely to be unfit for combat against the infamous Ironborn, but if the Stark's army managed to burn the longships, the fleet could be used to transport the men to Cape Kraken and Bear Island. At least those were Norbert's thoughts.
Ryswell Fleet (1000 naval militia points) (Will be raised by 8AM -3GMT 25/8)
20 Levy Ships
10 Dromonds
8 Heavy Galleys

Re: The Muster of the Ships (Northern fleet call-up)
(My ships have arrived. Just duplicate your own levy composition as I believe we have equivalent points)
Nearly forty vessels of varying size are spotted coming down the coast, having travelled down the Saltspear and followed the beach round towards the Stony Shore. They fly banners depicting crossed bronze longaxes and a black crown, denoting them as having arrived from Barrowton.

Re: The Muster of the Ships (Northern fleet call-up)
The ships of House Glover arrive, rounding the western shores of the North: twenty-five medium-sized dromonds and five imposing war galleys, all flying the Glover standard above their sails and bearing an iron fist on the tips of their rams.
25 Dromonds
10 Heavy Galleys

Commanders of columns should use this thread to order their men to ferry across. Include orders for your men as if they might come to a battle. Rolls will be done to determine safety in the crossing from rough seas and attacks from the Ironborn.

Re: The Muster of the Ships (Northern fleet call-up)
Both the Dustin cavalry and infantry begin to embark onto the ships. Many were smaller crafts, not fit for sea-war with the more stoutly made longships of the Kraken men. Some were more hardily built, with larger hulls crafted from finer wood, rather than re-appropriated fishing vessels. Some were longships themselves, either captured during failed raids or copied to try and replicate their effectiveness.
They would wait for a sure sign from the Gods that the travel would be safe, and victory certain - a sacrifice before the whispering Weirwood trees, a sow or calf's blood spraying onto the bark. They would, at the break of dawn, be among the first onto the island's snow covered shores, the first to taste the blood of their foes. It was both an honour and a great test. If the signs were favourable, they would row across the short stretch of the Sunset Sea that separated them from the toehold that the Ironborn had in the far north. Speed and surprise would be their weapons, with smaller crafts devoted to spiriting the soldiers across the expanse of water. Should the longships attack, the larger boats would try and hold them off, while the fishing boats completed their task of transportation.
Once they reached the shore and safely landed, they would hopefully find the beach clear of any Ironborn. If not, available men will form a shield-wall, to give the Ironborn pause and buy time for the rest to disembark and join the fray. Once the beach has been won, an encampment will be established, where the Dustin forces will wait for their compatriots to land before beginning the assault on the stronghold.

Rolles a 20, the crossings made are a huge success. No Ironborn were spotted trying to intervene.

Re: The Muster of the Ships (Northern fleet call-up)
[OOC: Since I should apparently be here and not in the army thread...]
The Greystark forces arrive at the shore, looking for ships loyal to Winterfell for the campaign against Bear Isle. Harrion, and indeed the Greystark family as a whole, had great reservations about the planned invasion of the island: it would no doubt fall to Winterfell if the island's naval defences were not strong, but King Rickard could not hope to hold it for any longer than it took for the Iron Fleet to sail north and seize it back. Attempting to wrest islands from the Ironborn by conquest alone seemed doomed to fail.

As soon as they had landed, the Dustin infantry raised their banners across the shore; twin longaxes and the snarling direwolf would be seen by any approaching the island. As the infantry set up an encampment, the cavalry force patrolled the shores, with a small group of them riding northwards to determine if any substantial Ironborn force was nearby.
