Yoren Glint-Fist arrived at Last Hearth after a week's hard ride through light snows and freezing rains. The tall, plump man dismounted outside the ring fort and passed through the gates. Several of his attendants left to spend a few coppers at the inn on drinks or women. Yoren would have joined them but he was here to do business.

A household servant brought the man to a waiting chamber, in which he was forgotten about until Halys Grench, castellan in the absence of his liege lords, stumbled upon the man. "Bloody girl showed you to the wrong room," the elderly man seethed, opening a door and gesturing for the visitor to enter. They came across a smaller chamber, empty barring a table and old chairs. "What business would you have discussed in Last Hearth, my lord​?"

"The King wishes to make trade. I'm his steward, Yoren called by some glint-fist." he said taking a seat. "Some ale and cheese" he called to the servants "and be quick about it."
