The Bloody Wolves
600 Light Cavalry, commanded by Tormund Greystark
Commanded by Tormund 'The Bloody Wolf' Greystark, Lord Harrion's second son, the Bloody Wolves are a mounted force both famed and feared throughout the White Knife and Broken Branch regions of the North for their campaigns. In these regions, where weak royal authority necessitated the construction of the Wolf's Den in the first place, royal control is constantly challenged by hill tribes, pirates from the Stepstones or across the Narrow Sea, bandits and minor nobles who feel Winterfell is too far away to ever get wind of their activities. Tormund's band range across this vast region, putting down rebellions, reminding the tribesmen and locals of their overlord's reach and bolstering what other bastions of loyalty to Winterfell exist in the region.
A band of rogues, bandits-turned-soldiers, and thugs, the group would be difficult to distinguish from other petty warlords that roam the region were it not for the Greystark banner. Though rough around the edges and often more brutal in their responses than is strictly necessary, Lord Harrion regards them as a valuable tool for expanding his control over these far-flung regions.
The White Wolves
1,200 Heavy Infantry and 600 Archers, commanded by Sigorn Greystark
The Wolf's Den is bolstered by a company of standing troops, veterans from the campaigns that brought the White Knife under royal control and allowed the construction of the Wolf's Den, who provide a powerful fighting force against the many small tribes and bandit groups that plague the region, as well as a deterring force against the hungry eyes of the pillagers in the Sisters, across the bay. They are commanded on a daily basis by Sigorn Greystark, Lord Harrion's youngest son.
Named for their place on the White Knife and their banner, the Greystark Wolf, the White Wolves of the Wolf's Den are far more honourable than the cavalry band commanded by Sigorn's older brother Tormund. Comprised of small landholding freemen and seasoned huntsmen, they battle in the traditional northern fashion of a shield wall, supported by the archers in the back.
They form the core of any Greystark army, joined by the militia should they be summoned to aid in the battles to come.
