The spawn could actually be the mongols after they got killed off by Nathrezimus, unless there are other factions in SS that are set for spawning. Or it is a spawn from the script, something like the mongol invasion.

    Thank you for your help.
Gigantus, have you noticed that the log you analysed appeared only after I took settlements from Timurids (changing them into horde) ? Before that the log looked different (like I posted a couple of posts earlier).
About the spawning, could it be the Teutonic Order who tries to spawn AGAIN after so many turns ? I've given them a family tree just to get rid of them finally, so maybe that is the issue as they try to spawn even though their faction is destroyed? Can I somehow fix it?
Also I have changed the turn number through save editing... Wouldn't that fix the spawning problem?
And my last question is: where exactly do I find ifnormation about turn numbers when the AI spawns?

I have exactly the same problem, as the mod crashes repeatedly at certain end turns. It's just when the rebels or the Khwarezmians end their turn and the new year arrives. The funny thing is that it happens once in approximately five turns. Then, it will crash repeatedly after several tries to overcome it, until suddenly the game survives to the next turn. Then, the next four or seven turns will proceed normally, without the slightest issue, until the same issue arises. It has already happened around 10 times, with each crash needing 20 to 30 tries, until the new turn is recorded. Sometimes I was just lucky and the auto-save registered before the freeze, but usually it just moves to the next year normally. The log report does not provide any information, but I'm sure that the problem lies on the new year's events and not the movements of the AI-controlled factions.

The cause is definitely not the death of a specific character or a random event, because that stuff would not happen 30 times in a row, so perhaps it concerns the construction of a building or the coming of age of a royal prince. I unfortunately own the Steam version of Medieval II, but neither the mod nor the game have been installed in the Program Files folder. One of the most bizarre bugs I have ever encountered!

Update: I can confirm beyond any doubt that the problem lies with the new turn and not with the rebels or the Khwarezmians. Just before the crash, I noticed that my treasury changed, as the profits from taxes, mining, trade and the king's purse were registered. This boost definitely didn't concern any sum sent to my faction through diplomatic tribute or vassalage. Unfortunately, the CTD occurred too quickly for the auto-save to be successfully completed. I also double-checked and there's no child (male or female_ in my family tree that comes to age at this turn, so it's not a dynastic issue. Could it perhaps relate to those random events about pirates, troubadours and etc.?

I am now facing the very same issue while playing as the Aragonese (early campaign, VH/VH) at the passing from turn 115 to 116. I have tried reloading and adding a different move, just to generate a new save, however it has not solved the issue so far.
Will try the "multiple replays until fixed" proposal though...

Minor update: After a dozen or so attempts to move to the next turn, the game finally managed to proceed with the next turn. It appeared as if the game was trying some action that would cause it to crush. At least we know that the save is not corrupted...

It could be any of the events that trigger on 'FactionTurnStart FactionIsLocal' - hard to say why a persistent crash all of a sudden would resolve. Often simply moving a character different after a reload does that.

Gave up on my campaign and SS because of this. So much lost progress and not enough time to spare repeating over and over. Logs say nothing, no errors, no missing files, just an abrupt "M2TW has stopped working". In my case it is guaranteed to happen when passing turn and I get to fight a battle. Once the turn ends it crashes. If I am attacked twice while the turn is passing, 50/50 chance of second battle crashing randomly. I've tried it all, everything I could find online. I have the bugfix compilation, and I'm at turn 260. The more turns pass, the worse it gets. Pity, as I was just getting to enjoy gunpowder. An alternative of course would be to auto-resolve, but I play M2TW for the battles, so that kind of defeats the purpose of playing at all. Genuinely saddened, but oh well.

So... is there a way to troubleshoot this issue?

If not I've lost a 100 turn campaign. I have two saves, but both are from the same turn and pretty much all of my characters have already been moved. I've tried to rerun the turn a few dozen times, it always crashes.

Is there not a way to find out what is specifically causing the issue? A way to force the game to past the problem?

Default Re: SS 6.4 crashes at the end of rebels' turn

haring my recent experiences about the 6.4 version - 1.27 BugFix Compilation.

Had great fun playing this mod until.. you can't play no more.

First, I played the Ukrainian side (Grand Duchy of Kiev) and managed to play for 444 turns. While I didn't actually win the contest (Fatimid Caliphate did), I still grabbed the whole Northeast quarter of the map: all lands North of Black Sea and Caucasus, 32 regions. In the Overall ranking I took my faction to 2nd place. My finances chest power was a bit more than 100,000.. florins, ducats, talers or whatever. At this point I couldn't find anymore a way of voiding the constant crashing of this mod, when rolling forward to the next turn.

Then, because I was reading some Roger Crowley books about Mediterranean history, I started to play the Republic of Venice side. This time I achieved the contest win, but only could play 306 turns, before hitting the "no matter what" crashing wall. I grabbed 49 regions all around the Mediterranean Sea and the Southeast - South - Southwest shores of the Black Sea. My faction possessions stretch from Murcia/Oran in the West, to Kutaisi/Caesarea/Antioch in the East. My chest holds more than 150,000 "ducato" (historic Venetian currency at the time of the game: year 1405).

I have to say that the game crashing becomes constant before hitting the 100 turns. It's only that, for a while, restarting the game, or your PC, allows you to continue the game. It feels like "out of memory" issues that get remedied by itself when the game is closed and reopened. But all this works - even though taking down full enjoyment of the game - for a while. In my two experiences above, up to somewhere between 300 - 500 turns.

My PC runs with Windows 11 Home 21H2, CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-8259U, 16 GB RAM. It doesn't have a dedicated graphic card, it runs with the more than decent Intel Iris Plus Graphics 655, and my HD is a 500 GB SSD.
