You allow the lords of your close allies to attack men who have done no wrong since your ascension to the Throne, nothing save be true to their faith. Where is the man who burned Tumbleton and wiped out the Footlys? Why was a Reachman allowed to march hundreds of miles to burn Byford to the ground?
Among your most trusted servants is a man called Spotted Tom the Butcher. He is a murderer and a rapist. His sins are known well throughout Westeros. He is notorious for his crimes, and yet he is unpunished. Either negligence of malignancy on your part, but unaccceptable nonetheless.
My predecessor's reasons for excommunicating you and supporting Lord Steffon Baratheon were his, and only his, reasons. I, however, find you lacking in piety, righteousness and honesty. You will come to the Starry Sept and you will kneel before the Gods and ask for forgiveness for your sins, or you and your House will be forever excommunicate. You rose to the Throne with the help of a God, but it was not the Seven who are One who allowed your ascension. It was the false Red God, and your army of Red heretics that allowed you to seize power. It was men, who were too foolish or ambitious to realise they must cast a false faith from Westeros, who allowed your invasion to succeed. Atone for your sins, and perhaps you truly will be fit to be King of Westeros.
Signed,
His Holiness, the High Septon
