    Default A Fateful Visit

The King makes a visit to the Maester's Guild in the capital, he begins his search for a capable maester, Archmaester or even the Grand Maester himself. In his pockets rest some gold and a note as he began his search.

OOC: Asking for a roll to see who the King finds. I could ask for the Grand Maester or seek him out immediately, but I wanna be fair about this action.

Daemon was happy to have found the Archmaester. True he wouldn't have as great a skill as the Grand Maester, but his was the best there was nonetheless.

Archmaester, I have a request for you.

He unfolds the letter from the High Septon, setting it upon the table of the Archmaester.

I need you to copy this handwriting and write out a message for me.

The King unfolds another piece of parchment, revealing a letter written in his hand. He tap the table between the two letters.

As the King, I will not only be eternally grateful, but I will ensure you are well rewarded for your services.

Daemon moves his pocket, letting coin jiggle for the Archmaester

    +3 Charisma

    Also proof of letter sent:

You allow the lords of your close allies to attack men who have done no wrong since your ascension to the Throne, nothing save be true to their faith. Where is the man who burned Tumbleton and wiped out the Footlys? Why was a Reachman allowed to march hundreds of miles to burn Byford to the ground?

Among your most trusted servants is a man called Spotted Tom the Butcher. He is a murderer and a rapist. His sins are known well throughout Westeros. He is notorious for his crimes, and yet he is unpunished. Either negligence of malignancy on your part, but unaccceptable nonetheless.

My predecessor's reasons for excommunicating you and supporting Lord Steffon Baratheon were his, and only his, reasons. I, however, find you lacking in piety, righteousness and honesty. You will come to the Starry Sept and you will kneel before the Gods and ask for forgiveness for your sins, or you and your House will be forever excommunicate. You rose to the Throne with the help of a God, but it was not the Seven who are One who allowed your ascension. It was the false Red God, and your army of Red heretics that allowed you to seize power. It was men, who were too foolish or ambitious to realise they must cast a false faith from Westeros, who allowed your invasion to succeed. Atone for your sins, and perhaps you truly will be fit to be King of Westeros.

    Signed,
    His Holiness, the High Septon

    roll 4

The man gulps reluctant, "My King to go against the faith in such a matter, well it is outside the realm of the Maesters, we are here to advise, not to meddle in the affairs of politics, I am uncomfortable with this my king." He sighs before continuing "I can attempt to do what you ask. What do you want me to say?"

I understand this moral dilemma, Archmaester. But this must be done. This High Septon threatens my whole realm with disorder, claiming he is doing it for the good of the Seven Kingdoms... yet advances himself by acquiring property and money, vices that are looked down upon by the Seven. Yet here, in the capital, we have the peaceful and humble High Shepherd. Do you not think this realm needs unity and peace? A message that the High Shepherd voices every waking moment, contrary to that of the High Septon.

The King would sit down across from the Archmaester, hoping his words would bring confidence to him. Daemon would move the letter, in his own hand, to him.

Write what is on this letter for me and I will ensure that your family and relatives are in good favor with the Iron Throne. Write this and help me change Westeros and our beloved Faith to a more peaceful course.

(Well I would think there was some place where the Maesters in KL stayed, so I sort of figured there would be something similar to the Maester's Guild in the capital at least. After all, there is a Grand Maester in KL.)

The maester complies and hands the letter back to Daemon. "It is done my King." However this still does not seem to sit well with the maester

Daemon would quietly set a small letter upon the Archmaester's desk before departing. The slip contained a note of promise worth 15,000 gold dragons.
