Reproducible crash on load

Thread: Reproducible crash on load

    Default Reproducible crash on load

On finishing a turn, EB2 crashed to desktop with an unspecified error. Whilst that in itself isn't at all unusual, the autosave also gives the same error when loading it. The save and EB log are attached. Whilst it would be nice to get the autosave working again, I suspect it's a loss and I'll have to go back a few hours...

As an aside, I could not get EBII to generate a log until I set the log location as being in the M2TW root folder.

Nothing of note in that log, besides the terminating crash.

    Of real note:

Why is your game installed in Program Files (x86) when we already know that causes issues with patching and everything else? Furthermore, you have autosave enabled, something that is known to corrupt saves.

The references to Program Files are actually misleading in this case, but that's down to my strange setup! I've long since moved my Steam folder out of Program Files due to the various problems it causes for many games, but Steam doesn't handle changing the folder a game is installed in, even if you move the files over to another "Steam Library" that has been defined. The new folder is therefore symlinked back, which leads to paths showing C:\Program Files (x86) despite the games actually being on H:\ instead.

Furthermore, you have autosave enabled, something that is known to corrupt saves.
As in "autosaves can be corrupted on saving" or "autosaves corrupt other saves"?
