Patch destroyed my textures?

Hi,

So I've recently downloaded the patch and started playing everything seemed to work fine until I entered a battle. The game immediately crashed and it seems like all textures were gone. After some testing I discovered it always happens, no matter what kind of battle I play or in what menu or with what factions... No difference. The game just loads the battle then it shows the army from a great distance like always before zooming in but the entire background is just black and then it crashes....

The thing is the normal map and everything does work fine, I already tried reinstalling the game, downloading the patch from a different place, extracting the patch in the original game directory but nothing worked, the game still crashes everytime I start a battle, do any of you have any idea on how to fix this.

(btw: hope this is the right forum but I couldn't find a tech forum.)

edit: Small update, when launching the game it doesn't show that it's version 1.1 anywhere, which is strange... I don't have the game installed on my C: drive and think that, that might be the problem.. Which would suck, going to try and reinstall on C: now

the patch does have the option to change the directory of the installation path, you should do that. Also the patch should not destroy your textures whatsoever.

did you launch the setup for the patch? you have to go into the mtw2 directory and manualy install it. At least thats what i had to do.

Yeah I did everything right, but it doesn't matter I fixed it... After reinstalling the game on C: with the default directory and everything and then installing the patch it worked

Is your game a download purchase from steam? Or you have a DVD for it?

my game is downloaded, I wonder if it was the unpacker, I didn't try the game until it was unpacked and I didn't mess with anything after it was unpacked.

same problem here

No text on the menu in the campaign and the game crashed everytime I entered a battle

If it's the only way to fix this then it totally suck. I only have 4GB free space left on C: anyway

Yeah i patched then unpacked it and evrything was were it seemed to be in the data folder but i to can no longer play battles as it CTD,ive really lost faith with CA's ability to playtest evrything and wounder if ill bother with their products in future.
