Loading Patch Q: C drive default destination?

How can I tell if the patch updated the game correctly?

While watching the patch update, I noticed the path read "C:...(the install path)"

My concern: I don't have M2TW loaded on my C: drive.

I tried to reload the patch to change the drive spec, but don't see that option.

Thus - anyone know if I should have a "v1.1" anywhere that would tell me whether the patch loaded correctly?

If not - CA is there a workaround?

It'll say 1.1 in the corner of the main menu. If it's not there, you haven't installed it properly.

Remember, they've done something a bit strange with the patch. It's compressed in a zip/rar file (i forget which) but then is compressed again with self-extracting compression thingy. You need to open the file with winrar, then double click the extractor, which will copy the install files into a temp folder. Then you've got to open the temp folder they were extracted to, and click the setup.exe.

Did that part correctly; I'll go back and try again. Didn't see the 1.1 in the corner.

I'd have thought you could just reinstall the patch to the correct destination. The patch that was supposedly installed to nowhere can't do any harm, but it might be an idea to find the folder and delete it. Alternatively, you could install the game to your C drive anyway, and circumvent this problem arising in the future.

Well, the patch does have the option to change the directory.

the directory should be x:/z/Sega/Medieval 2 :Total War

where X is your drive your game is installed to

Z is your directory (the default is "Program Files")
