Thorolf was thus armed. Then Thorolf became so furious that he cast his shield on his back, and, grasping his halberd with both hands, bounded forward dealing cut and thrust on either side. Men sprang away from him both ways, but he slew many. Thus he cleared the way forward to earl Hring's standard, and then nothing could stop him. He slew the man who bore the earl's standard, and cut down the standard-pole. After that he lunged with his halberd at the earl's breast, driving it right through mail and body, so that it came out at the shoulders; and he lifted him up on the halberd over his head, and planted the butt-end in the ground. There on the weapon the earl breathed out his life in sight of all, both friends and foes. [...] 53, Egil's Saga- The pranks played on the knight Jean de Joinville, 1249, 7th crusade.I must tell you here of some amusing tricks the Comte d'Eu played on us. I had made a sort of house for myself in which my knights and I used to eat, sitting so as to get the light from the door, which, as it happened, faced the Comte d'Eu's quarters. The count, who was a very ingenious fellow, had rigged up a miniature ballistic machine with which he could throw stones into my tent. He would watch us as we were having our meal, adjust his machine to suit the length of our table, and then let fly at us, breaking our pots and glasses.

funny, just about an hour ago or two I stumbled on a photo of a pavise shield with imperial emblems on it and wanted to post it here as a recommendation. Seems you were a step ahead of me
and those pavisiers look astonishing indeed.

love the new release, but there is something i've thought about. Why is it that the early seargent gambesons or shirts seem more ragged or rough in comparrison to the schwyz and french? is it for diversity or something of the like?
I don't see anything rough or ragged about the sergeants. It's just different artwork so the units don't look repetitive through out all the factions.
okay. I am not that great on historical outfits, so i just felt like asking, since i thought french and german troops would have been pretty identical
Shouldn t the two handed sword have a longer handle??? One of the hands holds the blade....
Yes a very nice addition. Perhaps you could let some men carry their swords the other way around so it looks like they beat the opponent to death with the pommel and crossguard .
That's actually a pretty good idea. ^^

Great work, they are beautiful. But I am wonder where is the Empire foot knights?
Not sure if this is of any use, but here is an image of 'German knights' as per Der Weisskunig (so late era, possibly Habsburg knights). Maybe useful for Dismounted knights/MAA :
I'd really prefer it, if that knights with this red-golden color combination would wear black-golden as they were not only the Imperial colors, but also since the 1200s part of the coat of arms used by the House of Wittelsbach (a golden Lion on a black background) and also by the City of Munich.
Here's a reenactor playing Otto IV btw, but I guees you already know that image.
