Half time... We're so so crap... Wenger seems to have given up.. Iwobi instead of Sanchez! it's like he's trying to get sacked...

Why is Arsenal trying to get rid of Sanchez anyway? Is he underpeforming or what?

At this point, I think he's probably doing it on purpose to fuel the world's best sitcom on TV right now. ArsenalFanTV is HBO level of entertainment.

It just seems Wenger's belief in his team section and tactics is unshakable. Doesn't matter who we play or what their form is Wenger will play the team he thinks can win and will play the same tactic no matter what players he puts out. We have very good individuals but can't play as a unit, especially the defence/midfield.

Wenger wants to get sacked. Sanchez is the only reason they are in the top 8 right now, the rest of the team has been horrible.

Wow, for the first time in my life I am leaning towards the Wenger out option.

But what coach can they possibly replace him with? Considering Manuel Pellegrinis somewhat erratic displays there is pretty much only Claudio Ranieri available on the market with a proven pedigree for winning titles .

    Luis Enrique?

If you were me, I'd be sad.But I wouldn't then be me because you'd be me so you wouldn't be me because I wasn't me because you were me but you couldn't be because I'd be a different me. I'd rather be any kind of bird (apart from a goose) than be you because to be you I'd have to not be me which I couldn't do unless someone else was me but then they would be you aswell so there would still be no me. They would be you because I was you so to restore balance you would have to be me and them meaning all three of us would become one continously the same. That would be very bad.

Bad time to be looking for a new manager with Barca also in the hunt.

For me Simeone. He's more in the George Graham mould than Wenger's but that might be just what we need. I doubt money would get him but the chance to manage a PL team might. More likely to go to Inter.

Allegri is the bookies favourite. I'm not so sure, he inherited a winning team at Juve and had previously taken Milan from 1st to 13th in four seasons. More likely to go to Barca.

Henry: would inspire the fans but can he inspire a failing squad. Not enough experience for me but the Kronke's like him for the job.

Bergkamp: Pretty much the same as Henry though with a bit more experience. But he doesn't fly which could be a problem.

Vieira: Hmm, could be the perfect man for the job. But he and Wenger are at odds and Wenger will certainly have a say in who replaces him.

No way he's going to leave PSG for Arsenal.

I actually like Allegri. He did inherit a wining team but he also lost many key players (Pirlo, Tevez, Pogba, Vidal...) and still surpassed everything Conte did, especially in Europe where Conte's Juventus were awful.

Allegri seems a perfect fit for Barca. Arsenal need someone with a more direct style if they want to compete for titles. Slow build up does not work in England.

One of the biggest problems with Arsenal and relative common in modern football, is that it is run as a commercial company. They don't care about actually winning anything, so long that they outrank (almost) everyone in terms of making money by selling t-shirts and getting tv money. This works great as a business because there's apparently enough people in the world who are fooled by marketing practices and are equally uninterested in their team actually winning something for once.

That's why they kept Wenger for so long. He doesn't waste money, the team plays consistently rather well but not enough to achieve anything.

Please, I've watched Simeone's teams on the field and followed his campaigns for over a decade now. The man is an outright cheat and -notwithstanding some brilliantly developed strategies e.g. Atlético Madrid's victory at Stamford Bridge three years ago- lacks any moral spine whatsoever. The only way his teams' behaviour can be explained is that they are instructed to commit fouls and ‘magically’ they're allowed to get away with it.

OK maybe Emery wasn't the best idea. I'm not sure how much of what's happened was his fault though, PSG actually had better chances than Barca and conceded some strange goals.

edit: I just remembered he benched Di Maria. He's going to fit right in with Arsenal.

Eh, poor Emery, he's the least responsible for what happened.

I still think he's a good coach, but benching your best player for "tactical reasons" would be a major red flag for me if I was the one hiring a coach. The team will play better with it's best player on the pitch, no matter what tactics you use.

Before Wenger tried to turn us into Barca (lite) I seem to recall he was famous for not seeing an endless catalogue of assaults and dives. Vieira still holds the joint record (8) for red cards, and Pires could have stared for the French Olympic diving squad... Simeone is an amateur by comparison.

    .
he may not 'leave' come the end of the season after being dumped out of the Champions League (THE prime target of the owners) in such a fashion.. The last manager won silverware and was still dropped after failing in the CL.. because football is a ridiculous commercialised play-thing for rich dickheads nowadays.

On the subject of that comeback though; Hand ball goals, Diving... anyone would of thought it was a fix.

Disgusted me, tbfh. But then i despise spanish football in general for all the play acting.
