This is a little risky since it can feel like you're leaving your towns undefended, but in some cases aggressive town-taking is the only way to put the brakes on enemy invasions.
Aye this is true, you must have read my mind as I was considering striking south with Gardarr and taking Narag Zigil (should I gift it back to the Dwarven & move on? would they accept or think there was something suspicious? in diplomacy there's not a lot of trust around lol) as for the battles I think the patience of waiting for better troops is paying off, however expensive they been.....and ofc I have BODVARR

There is a section in the diplomacy guide on gifting settlements. You might have to kick all of Rhun's forces off the province before the Dwarves would accept it, and you will almost certainly be expected to pay the Dwarves to take the settlement. If Rhun has already converted the settlement to a mannish population, you may want to simply add it to your empire. It is a very good money maker.

Narag-zigil is a huge income boost, especially if you also have Belegant (or any neighbouring province, really). Not that Dale needs the extra income...

You have tons of armies Saul. You are making plenty of money, you are just pending a lot of it on upkeep.

And based on the amount of stuff that Rhun is throwing at you, I'd say it's money well spent!

Yup, I'm looking forward to seeing how the fight against Rhun plays out. Despite being certain of winning every battle, you might have to find some creative ways to get around the sheer number of armies they can put out.

I think you're correct laddie, perhaps taking their capital is the answer ...btw a question, can I change the name of a settlement or are there triggers that use the settlement name to run scripts and give ancillaries or traits to governors?

Nope but I think there maybe a To"bog"gan Rhun near Raichost I was going to rename Belegant as Bodvarrsburg in memory of Bodvarr the Legend when he dies

We discovered during testing that changing settlement names can have unpredictable effects on lordship titles - so it's a good idea to keep them as they are.

Fair enough - change at own risk, you've voided the warranty, etc etc etc Would you mind putting some kind of warning in your video, though? Just mention vague, disastrous consequences may occur as a result of changing town names.
