    Default Beta Testers Look

Would you guys prefer that I upload a rather large Patch4 so you can see what the release will look like, or shall I just put the release installer to gether and then you can get that?

The reason it (patch4) would be large is because I would include the necessary files for the UI, and then you'd have to copy the original UI_1.pak
into the packs folder and run the 'new_UI.bat' install to see the 'finished' product. I've already put instructions in the sticky at the top of the forum.

    Whatdaya think?

Assuming your releasing it under the title of 'Public Beta' I'd say just go ahead and release it.

Give it a shot here and get feedback, then put it out.

Tell ya what guys, I hate to do it, but I'm going to delay a bit, and here's why. You fellows are contributing some nice ideas and good stuff, and they can only make Roma Surrectum even more worth the download. Tone is contributing by doing something I've always wanted but had no time to do, and it won't take that long to impement once he's done anyway. So these things should be done before release of the full version.

    1. I'll release a Patch4 which will include the new unit cost settings so it can be tested to make sure the economy isn't wacko, and see if it reduces the too many armies issue.

    2. I'll let Tone get done with his skies and these units...and take the pressure off by just saying, "let me know when you're done".

    3. I figured out how to change the music last night, and have been working on that. RS is definitely going to 'sound' different. If you have a special idea here, upload the stuff and I'll give it a shot. The nice thing is, once the 'mold' is broken here, it's very easy to change and put anything you want in as far as music. The main problem was figuring out how to 'break in', so to speak. Oddly enough, found the answers at 'The Guild' in a nice tutorial there.

    4. Northwind has uploaded the new files for the big map, and I think this is worth delaying as well to get it worked in for a better playing big map.

    5. I've gotten better German temple descriptions, and Tyr is working on the Romans, so this should go in to. In this regard also, I'm narrowing in on how to make it possible to build multiple temples....I won't guarantee this will get done. Depends on how much work it is.

    6. It's getting so close to Christmas that all of us are going to busy and pre-occupied...and I'll be gone to Tennessee to see my daughter the week after Christmas....so I think it's better to wait and not rush.

    OK?

Sounds good to me. It's already shaping up really nicely, it's exciting to see it coming along.

Everybody have a merry christmas and long live RS !!

Sorry I should have told you how to do that!! I had the descr_sounds_music file here.

Fair enough, guess it would be as good to get the mod as close to pefection before release.

That's one of those classic lines: "Why didn't you tell me that!?'

    "Well, you didn't ask."

    That'll teach me to ask.
