    Icon5 Possible to incorporate IA campaign map?

    Hello all;

    just wondering how different the Rome 2 and Attila campaign maps actually are, and whether it would be possible to somehow incorporate the IA map into this mod?

    I feel sad that CA chose to leave out most of Greece, and Sicily, which makes an early BC mod seem less interesting... No Athens/Sparta, contested Sicily etc... No Troy/Pergamon as a major city...

    I'm not sure whether or not there are more provinces in Attila, but it certainly feels like less?

    Anyway - not sure if it's possible, but would be nice! Just thinking about how people retrofitted Napoleon mechanics into Empire due to the engine similarity...

    It might be possible, but ultimately research is on-going...

    Even if a stable crash-free and working way of doing that was found, which is a far cry in itself, whether AE would choose to redo their entire startpos for a new map is questionable.

    I managed to import WOS DLC map into Attila, and seems to work fine, but in some regions, when player or AI attack certain settlement, the game crash, alaways the same settlements, plus some end turn CTD. Im trying to fix these CTD (but first, I must find the reason of them), but Im pretty sure is because CA codded a lot their maps in order to make them unmoddeable. I have programmer skills, but not enough to make a tool, Im working with Assembly Kit and PFM. I tested with Hannibal map too, same results, some regions (always the same in each faction Im playing) give CTD, without any reason.

    As I said ebfore, if I finally find and fix these bugs, I'll share my info with AE team. IA map is the best from AE mod, and for my own too, so I want to make it, Im working on it. Cant promise anything.

    Cant be added into any mod right now, but at last, we now it's possible. Of course if CA fix their map editor, will be easy to make it but, you know, CA fixing their bugs is a Dream.

    If that is used, it won't be in first release. We're too far in for now. Could use it as a sub campaign. We'll be using Attila dlc maps for earlier stuff anyway

    Just worked out that vanilla Atilla map has 186 different provinces whereas the IA map has 187... clearly the IA map is thus superior - so would be great if this was the base map for the mod.
