Default A Fishy Betrothal By Water

Steffon Bywater, accompanied by some twenty men and women from his family's ancestral seat, quietly chart a route through the vast expanse of the Kingswood. Emerging from the confines of the sprawling forest the noble party carry on north, winding through valleys and pass steep hills, a trickle of men following the groove of the earth itself.

After days of travel, of hunting and falconry, of throwing coins and speaking to farmers, Steffon and his band find themselves approaching Stonedance, an ancient castle from before the coming of the Andals. Within were the Masseys, a bloodline with its history deeply rooted in the land.

With a smile he dispatched a rider ahead to announce his arrival, and his wish to discuss marriage with the Masseys. In his company was Falyse, his sister to which had yet to have the honour of marrying a man of her station.

[OOC: Have you any +charisma from traits, trade goods, etc?]

The party are granted entry to the keep, met by Lord Massey's stern gaze. He waited for the newcomers to speak first, after guest rights were given.

"Lord Massey," the Bywater son began. "I hope that my presence is not too much of a dissatisfaction to your days. By your grace I would only hold you for a little time in the hopes of better bringing our houses in front of our rivals. This peace we are seeing may not last forever and as castellan and heir to my father I intend for our histories to bear more fruits than what have already been recorded. Together, Stonedance and Bywater, we could make great ripples in the future." The young man turned to bring forth his sister, resplendent in a shimmering gown of blue and silver. "My lord father, the Master of Coin, wishes to present my lady sister Felyse. House Bywater offers her untarnished hand to a son of Massey with a dowry of thirty thousand dragons, as well as our lasting gratitude and future cooperation in making a greater future for our families."

OOC: +3 from trade lanes, if the modifiers count for heirs/not lord

That's a lot of money, almost an entire year's incomes for my House... House Bywater are well established, one of them holds high office...

"These terms are agreeable." said Lord Massey, "I would be honoured to unite our Houses."

"Excellent, Lord Massey. You make my family immensely happy with this decision. We will wed your son to my sister? The dowry will be presented as soon as my father can drag himself away from the capital. Thank you again."

OOC: Assuming that it is done? Many thanks
