Are the Ghaznavids too weak?

Hey,

So I've been playing the new version (2.4) of Broken Crescent on my free time for a while now, and there's one thing I've quickly taken note of in many of my campaigns. The Ghaznavids seem to always be the first faction to be destroyed. They're always taking a really bad pounding from either the Ghurids in the west, the Sindh from the south or the Chauhan and Paramara Rajputs to the east and losing settlements very fast. I remember in previous versions that the Ghaznavids weren't so weak, and usually could go toe to toe with the Ghurids. Have there been some kind of changes made to the Ghaznavids in the new patch, or is it just me?

Well, historically, they were wiped out within just 12 years pass this mods start date, so I guess the answer to that is no.

As Marius said, there has been a decision for all of BC 2 to keep the Ghaznavids weak and indeed they always disappear first. That is by design for historical reasons. Consequently, the Ghurids had no real enemies and plenty of room to expand into, so some players also complained that Ghurid campaigns were too easy. Now the Ghurids have also the Kara-Khitai to deal with.
I do not think there have been changes made to the Ghaznavids.

Now there is that wonderful power square of the Ghurids, Seljuks of Kerman, Khwarezmians, and Kara Khitai.

On the other hand Armenia and Byzantium are destroying Seljuks rather easy. Sometimes just Armenia alone
