I am really confused with what you are trying to do. It doesnt look like you installed the mod.
It says noinstaller which i assume is that other download. I havent used that one but i assume that you just extract the files in your game.

Silly me. I downloaded the wrong one. Just went blindly downloading the first one I saw.

Now I've downloaded the right one but whenever I click the Launch bat file it takes me back to Medieval II vanilla. I also tried setting launch options to "--features.mod=mods/EBII ".

Do you have kingdoms.exe? Its necessary for the mod to run.
    Where did you install it?

One image shows that I have kingdoms.exe installed and it's version is 1.52. The other image shows where I extracted the EBii folder C:\Medieval II Total War\mods\ebii

The reason why it's not under it's original root (Steamapps > Common >) is because a mod I was trying to install said that the Medieval II folder should be separate from Program Files. Is this the case with EBII? Should I try extracting EBii under Program Files?

No, you definitely don't want your game anywhere near Program Files.

That's weird. I did copy the files into the Steamapps Medieval II folder and the game launched. I do get graphical error crashes every few turns but other than that, game seems fine.

Compared to when I first played in August 2014, this game has seen such awesome improvements. While I enjoyed it back then, I'm having an immense amount of fun with this one as there's soo much depth and strategy and thinking required every turn.
