    Karl Manderly

Karl, a short yet broad built man is renowned for the numerous scars which mark his body, received while travelling the Disputed Lands among the Essosi mercenary companies. Short-tempered, with the mind of a nobleman, he can be extremely arrogant and proud. They say that when he was a kid, he almost beat to death the stable boy for calling him a dwarf. Now a man and having inherited White Harbour after the mysterious death of his elder brother Maegor, Karl has set a new precedence by legitimising his bastard son. This move has strained the relationship between not only his own son, but also his brother Wyman.

    Harold Manderly

Harold is the legitimised natural son of Karl, something which has seen him earn the ire of his younger trueborn half-brother. He joined his father in Essos as soon as he could, serving alongside his father while the true heir was dotted on by women. Taller then his father, handsome whereas his brother is plain, Harold is a young, energetic, northerner bloodthirsty for adventure and fame. His black hair and his purple eyes give him a mysterious look.

    - Duel: 2
    - Joust: 1
    - Battle: 2

    Wylis Manderly

The youngest of Karl's children, Wylis is everything his half-brother is not. He is short, like his father. A face undistinct from that of a merchants or common blacksmith and the wit to match. He is no fierce warrior, although he has not been tested. Preferring to keep company with his lady mother and old men rather than the warriors around Harold, Wylis is seen as weak and too fixated on safe desires by his father. With the loss of respect that entailed, Wylis finds himself at a dangerous crossroads with regards to the future of the Manderlys. On one hand he is the rightful heir to White Harbour. On the other, Harold is more than capable of killing him to take the same right.

Ser Beren Dustin Lord of the White Knife, son of the Lord Rickon Dustin of Barrowton, comes to White Harbor to speak with Lord Manderly. He comes to perhaps strike up friendly relations between the two Houses. He comes with two trusted men, men that have fought Wildlings by his side in the past.

Karl and his wife greet the Dustin company in the great hall, the chamber lined with nobles from across the Manderly Lands.

"Ser Beren Dustin," calls the orator. "Lord of the White Knife."

With that introduction the guest is allowed his audience. Karl has his wife by his side, as well as his daughters. His sons, however, are apparently absent.

Lord Karl, your House and mine live rather separated lives. That changing some with my taking command of the White Knife. I wished to pay my respect to the great Lord Manderly.
Beren said with a bow. He was dressed as a northerner ready for battle, he always was. He was a warrior, or at least his father had thrust him into that role. Beren never fancied himself a diplomat, he just wanted to show respect and courtesy.

The Manderly noble accepted the northerners words with the inclination of his head. The words seemed more suited to the courts of Blackfyre or Tyrell but at least Ser Dustin held himself with the air of a man who was more interested in fighting.

"The White Knife is a shorter ride than Barrowton I'll grant you. Come, if I had need of glorification I would find my wife's chambers. Was there a need you were looking for? Some boon Barrowton cannot provide?" Karl's wife smiled at the notion.

Beren shook his head with a small smile, "No my Lord. The North is spread out, we can be separate sometimes and I feel that with me just North of you that I would come and pay my respects, maybe share a meal, and forge a bond of friendship between your House and mine."

Karl grunted, as if dismissive of the Dustin's claims. "Your lands are so poor that you can't even put a meal in front of yourself is my wager," he turned to his wife who pretended to suppress a giggle at the hilarity of the suggestion. "Perhaps you are really just wanting to steal some of my fishermen's catch, since none of the good prizes are stupid enough to go up the river." This time he looked to the attendants for his reaction, trading knowing looks with old comrades as he weighed up his mind.

"I'll help put some meat on to your bones, Ser Dustin. I have need to discuss northern matters anyway come.

Beren crooked his head at the Lord. He brought his hand up to his beard and stroked it. "We hunt. Better than your fisherman lay line. We fight better than most wipe their arses. I do just fine. A true Northerner." Beren said with a slight twitch in his eye. "Thinking about it... Yoren, Jorah we should move on soon." He says talking to his two men.
"What Northern matters do you speak of Lord Manderly?"

"What Northern matters do you speak of Lord Manderly?"
Karl shrugged, already tiring. Westerosi men and their claims to proficiency. They had not seen the Disputed Lands in their height. "Lord Stark has agreed with my notion of raising a Northern fleet, as glorious as the flotilla of the Shipwright. All the lords of the North would contribute, either gold to pay for the ships or the harbours to keep them. Stark has offered to pay for the increase in my own shipbuilding efforts but that leaves the rest of the coastlines. Barrowton would make an ample site for a western fleet, a port safe from ironborn reaving and capable of matching the fleet of Seagard. Your thoughts on this enterprise?"
