    Icon5 [Help] Add splash damage

    Hey guys,

    seems splash damage is linked to certain animations. I tried to change some lord models to using the 2handed sword animation. Even with the same melee_weapon (which does splash attack) once I change the animation, the splash attack is gone.

    Does anyone know how to change that?

    If a unit deals splash damage is defined in the melee_weapons table and is therefore depending on the weapon which is assigned to the unit in land_units_table.
    I am pretty sure that the splash damage will still be applied regardless of the animation, if the melee weapon indeed has splash attacks, which for example the wh_main_emp_sword_great has not. I don't know which weapon you have tried, did you actually compare the damage values to what it would be supposed to be with splash damage, or is it just some kind of missing animation?

    As said, I only changed the animation, not the assigned weapon. The weapon does splash damage for sure. The result was no splash damage. I then went on and created a new weapon which does splash damage. The result was the same, no splash damage again.


    The conclusion is that splash damage is also linked to the animation (besides the melee weapon). So it would be great to know if someone knows how to link splash damage to an animation.




    Try it if you like, give Mannfred an animation of a non-hero unit while changing nothing about the assigned melee_weapon. His splash damage will be gone.

    Pretty frustrating
