The Royal Tournament of 270 AL (Rp Thread)
In the year 270 AL, Daemon Blackfyre, to commemorate his coronation and the success of his battles, called forth a grand tournament of great proportions.
The tournament was to be held in King's Landing at the tournament grounds where a melee and jousting were to occur.

Ryker Frey prepare dhimself for the events to come, but more importantly, he kept his eyes open to recruit knights for the Kingsguard. They would have to have no small measure of honor and martial skill.

Donnel Lefford
Much of the security for this event was provided by the Goldcloaks, as was befitting their status as policemen and in keeping with the two Lord Commanders' agreements about the Blackguard dealing with the Red Keep and Flea Bottom only. Instead the Blackguard were limited to securing the King's pavilion for feasting and entertaining guests, and providing a cordon around the King's viewing stand, adding a layer of protection before the Kingsguard who guarded the King himself up close.
As a result Donnel's duties were light: the whole thing had been delegated to a junior officer instead while he sat and drank wine, still in his black and red armour but nevertheless not actively working, in the King's stand, watching the earliest rising knights warm up and spar before the day's fighting took place in mid-morning.
Other Leffords
Raymar, Ryon and Kyra had arrived along with many of the other Westerlands houses and set up their own section of the camp among them. Ryon had performed well in the early bouts, defeating a host of contenders to secure himself a place in the final 16 combatants. The family were aware Donnel would be here somewhere, but the rift between them had not yet healed and neither side were willing to be the ones to approach the other.
Mace Tyrell
Mace arrived with the Reach delegation and took residence in a lavish accommodation of sheet and stick that could scarcely be called a tent at all: it was in fact a series of tents, allowing for multiple rooms within, arrayed in a square fashion to enclose a courtyard where large dinners could be held under the open sky. Within this complex Mace had his own room, and his retainers and attendants had space allocated to them as well, along with his guards and rooms allowing for lounging, bathing and storing of equipment.
The young Tyrell was on a high after believing he'd decisively moved to avert a major incident by disarming Rowan and handing him over for judgement, making him feel confident and powerful. This shone through in the form of this ostentatious tent complex.

A moderately sized delegtion from the Arbor led by Lady Rohanne and her two eldest children arrives and sets up a camp of several ornate tents in a half-circle formation along with several smaller tents, one of which is dedicated to storing the barrels of wine brought from the Arbor and under guard by fifteen of Lady Rohanne's Violet Guard at all times. Several pavillions are set up off to the side by the merchants to attempt to peddle their wares to the crowd.

Tom sat drinking in his tent surrounded by slaves and those he named friend and brother among the golden company, they were rowdy defiant - and now they were victorious. Suffice to say they didn't mix well with the upper crust of Westerosi society. They had strange skin, strange tattoos adorned their flesh, they spoke strange tongues, wore strange clothing, they even had strange ways of grooming themselves.

Daemon was among the many present, sitting in his regalia and the crown of Maekar upon his head. Next to him was Ser Ryker Frey and his wife, Serra. He would watch as people mingled together, nobles from all over Westeros. He could see some bitter looks glancing in his direction, but the Blackfyre showed no care at all. He was too much of a good mood; the North had bent the knee, the Crownlander Lords were being brought to heel and Dorne was in favor of peace. He was truly a king who was content with the situation of Westeros currently. Yet there was still much to do; this tournament for instance was to hopefully help rebuild the Kingsguard ranks and shower favor onto the greatest of knights and warriors that were assembled.

"Soon we will get a better idea of which knights will be suitable candidates." Frey said mirthlessly beneath his golden helm. His grey eyes flashed along the lists It was some time yet before Ryker would joust. "Second sons, ambitious lords of little renown, they are the most likely candidates."
