A band of 20 Crannogmen accompany Jon, they are the elite warriors of his father's personal guard.

Jon and a small band of Crannogmen made their way to the South. They had paid their toll at the Twins, although they had not bothered to declare their identity or purpose, preferring to be a band of travelers. The small band weaved their way through the many rivers and tributaries, making straight for the Isle of Faces. Jon wanted to get this pilgrimage over with quickly, so he could speed away to the North, in an attempt to find the Children of the Forest. The only upside was the possibility of finding something out by talking to the Green Men.

The small band trekked for many hundreds of miles. Their small ponies carrying both the band and their equipment faithfully. Food, gold, armaments and other various supplies had been meticulously sorted into the various packs on the ponies' backs.

Finally the Crannogmen arrived at lake, and after crossing it, the Isle of Faces. Immediately a guard was set on a rotating shift, to allow each man time to pay his homage to the Old Gods, in perhaps the most sacred Weirwood in Westeros.

Jon, however, had a different purpose. He paid tribute to the Old Gods, and then set off to find a Green Man...
