Default Has anyone been able to work out definitively what the melee hit chance normalization coefficient does?

Do we know exactly how this variable in kv_rules works? I'm assuming it affects how melee attack/defense are compared to arrive at a hit chance.

I've played around with it and haven't noticed changes making any predictable difference.

Does anyone know the mechanics behind it? Thanks!

Its a math (well, statistics) thing. The short version is that it ensures probabilities fit the correct curve and reduces the anomalies that can crop up if one set of variables is large than another but the outcomes ought to be the same. I'm not entirely sure why its there because the game doesn't look to be doing anything on a magnitude necessary to create problems in the first place. It might be related to the minimum and maximum hit chances and how they're implemented by the engine but given that its set to 1 by default who knows.

Without cracking the hood at looking at where its being applied its very difficult to say exactly what its doing in terms of real outcomes. Id therefore just leave it alone.
