Default Chambers of the Master of Ships

Holder of the Office: Ser Edmynd Hightower
The small and humble office of the current Master of Ships within the Red Keep.
Having followed the King's call, Ser Edmynd rode towards the capital to accept his new position. As an admiral of Oldtown and a relative to the naval-battle-experienced Redwynes of the Arbor,
the Hightower knight is capable enough of his office to lead and necessarily improve the naval forces of the capital.

    The Master of Ships
    - Being responsible for maintaining the Royal Fleet provides connections in the shipbuilding industry. The Master of Ships can hire ships at a 25% discount, which applies to ships hired for the Royal Fleet or for his own. This applies to hire cost, not upkeep cost.

Lord Yronwood arrived at the rather humble abode of Ser Edmynd Hightower, wishing to make the acquaintance of the master of ships.

The man was lead in, while Hightower eyed the man curiously.
"Mylord Yronwood?", he asked, raising an eyebrow, "I rarely get visited within my chambers and less do I recieve visitors from Dorne. Nontheless, I assume there is a reason why you wish to speak me?"

"Well met, Ser Hightower - unfortunately I have not had the pleasure of meeting you and your kin before, despite the long-standing mercantile agreement between our houses." Cletus said politely, as he entered the chambers of the Master of Ships.
"I am new to this... delightful city, and thus I have come here looking for a friend to acquaint me with the latest deliberations of the Small Council. As the spymaster, it is naturally my duty to know things." He finished, with a boyish grin.

With a curious look, Ser Edmynd eyed the Master of the Coin curiously as he entered.
"Mylord Darklyn?", he asked, ordering at the same time some documents while barely looking up, "May I help you?"

Ser Edmynd smiled, musing a bit about these words.
"Well, mylord, my brother Rolland told me about the agreement, which was done in the past", he said then, "so of course. If there is information, which I can grant you, feel free to ask me at any time, mylord."

Ardrian Bywater finds his eyes drawn towards the documents. For a moment a smile dances on his face. Someone who is too busy to kick up fuss. That was more of a reassurance than he expected. "A small matter, I believe, which has the chance of growing. A seed, maybe. Or a raindrop. Yes. A raindrop." Running a hand through his hair, the lord continued. "With the Stormlords now rising arms I have felt a certain, discontent. I fear that the king's stable realm will come crashing down through the weight of selfish desire. However even the ironborn submitted to Aegon after he displayed his power. The lords. The lords need a display, a spectacle to soften their knees and bolt shut the door of rebellion." He brought out a few documents, copies made of the Sunderland fraud. "The Three Sisters have been in deep trade with the slavers and pirates who harry all of our coastlines. They are profiting from it, disgustingly so, right under His Grace's nose." Ardrian moved closer to the man of Oldtown. "You are His Grace's voice at sea and I his councilor of the treasury. It falls under our jurisdiction to right this wrong. My house can furnish the soldiers if the Blackguard are to remain in the capital. With the royal fleet we could make for Sweetsister and bring them to account. Once the traitors have paid back every penny they earned illegally then the realm will understand what happens when the crown is lied to." He looked up, mouth open in anticipation.

Believing the trouble with Trant to be a perfect excuse to meet with the other councillors, Ardrian finds himself at the office of the Master of Ships.

He waits patiently to be admitted

"Unfortunately I was absent for the previous meeting. Were you present, Ser Hightower? I feel woefully ill-informed of the current political climate."

"An interesting proposal, while it might concern Lord Arryn and the King", Hightower stated after some silence, "You see, without the King's permission I would not assemble the fleet and neither would I attack one of Arryn's sworn vassals right away. I can agree upon the rumored piracy being not the best for the nortern lords on the east coast. Without proof nor backing by at least one side... a delicate matter."

OOC: Mistook you with Darklyn, Hightower would knew though that your character is a Bywater.
    Damnit.

OOC: yeah seems I've mistaken Fowler for a MoC instead of MoW so it's easy done

Ardrian nodded. "But with the blessing of the King, the Royal fleet could easily bring about a swing campaign against the pirates, and the lords who protect them?" The man smiled as he thought of the consequences.

"Exactly", Hightower agreed nodding, while not sure what the Master of Coin had to do with this thing, "but with the King's blessing. Unless his grace or the Lord Hand don't give me order to do so, I neither see reason to assemble the fleet for the problem of the Little Falcon."

Lord Bywater bowed, sufficed with the answer. "I will leave you to the king's work, Ser Hightower."

Hightower nodded, not being sure what all this conversation was about.
"If there is nothing else you wish to talk about mylord, sure", he said, "Should I inform his grace regarding your request or bring it up on the next Small Council?"
Ser Edmynd wasn't sure what the Master of the Coin even aimed for - of course Bywater was as well located within the Blackwater Bay, but the request seemed odd in light of Cracklaw and Dragonstone shielding said bay from the Sisters, which criminals tended to do their buiseness far up north around White Harbour. Probably he would talk with the King about it later on if it concerned matters his grace hadn't told him about.

"I will mention it at the council meeting. No need to breech His Graces work when he does not require our services. It is as you said: a matter concerning more than just Sunderland."

He bowed and saw himself out, a flash of teeth announcing that he was content.

Hightower noticed it while only nodding.

With an outrider arriving at the capital, Ser Edmynd Hightower is summoned back towards Oldtown along with his flagship. With Ser Jorgen Thornbury as his representative during his absence, the Admiral of Oldtown is tasked to aid the militia forces among the navy of Oldtown. Lord Rolland is worried that with recent Holy Lords, gathering within Oldtown a riot might break out, should men have to get imprisoned due to the law of the King.
