Default Coronation of Daemon IV of House Blackfyre, 270 AL

The Coronation of Daemon of the House Blackfyre, the Fourth of His Name
Dated in the two-hundredth and seventieth year since the landing of Aegon

Despite the Great Sept of Baelor being under-construction, the coronation of Daemon Blackfyre was still scheduled and set up. The crowning ceremony was to take place in the Red Keep and overseen by a high-ranking Septon within King's Landing, in the absence of the High Septon, who had been secretly paid by the Blackfyre to ensure his crowning was still performed, whether the High Septon accepted it or not. By victory on the battlefield, the defeat of his enemies and the death of Steffon Baratheon was Daemon truly the rightful King, enough of a reason for the ceremony to be performed. Much of Westeros accepted his rule, save the North, the Iron Islands and Dorne, but it did not matter to Daemon. He was the King and the King did as he pleased after all.

An auspicious date was chosen and set. Ravens were sent far and wide across Westeros, to both those who submitted and those who hadn't, welcoming them to witness the crowning of Daemon Blackfyre and that of his Queen, Serra Blackfyre. Security was handled by the Goldcloaks and the Blackguard, who made their first true public appearance in their black armor. The Lord Commander was present, at the side of the King, sat upon the Iron Throne this day. A Septon laid nearby, surrounded by the Blackguard, holding a cushion and cloth that hid the crown of Maekar I under it with a Septa holding a crown for the Queen. Beside the King, to his left, was his soon-to-be Queen, Serra, with the sword, Blackfyre, to his right in plain view for all to see. The heirs were absent for now, yet were under heavy guard.

    The ceremony would begin shortly...

Cosimo Lashare arrives with Illyrio and several of his retainers, and take places towards the back of the Great Sept.
    ----
Wile Lady Rohanne, two of her siblings, and daughter were away with the Redwyne Armada sailing towards Dorne, House Redwyne would be represented at the coronation by Regenard and Felicia Redwyne, the younger siblings of the Lady of the Arbor, and Gregor, Lady Rohanne's uncle who takes more after his mother's family, the Harlaws of Harlaw.. Along with the delegation from House Redwyne, merchants of varying influence and origin, courtiers, and representatives of the lesser lords of the Southern Islands would come. Some of the men wear ceremonial armor, while most wear ornate clothing, and the women wear dresses from Lys. Myr, or Volantis.

Tom sat up front, among the various lieutenants of the Golden Company.. this might be the last time they were all in the same room together. After some 8 years with these cutthroats and veterans he was gonna miss them. He was drinking from a flask discreetly. The giant of a man looked like a sore thumb in this place, the commander of Blackfyres army had a massive blue beard, an eye patch over one eye, and quire black circles tattooed all over his body like some big cat. Many of the relgious folk in the city, and westeros, didn't like him - he destroyed their city, and their king. In fact many lords both small and powerful hated his guts for having secured Blackfyrfe the throne.

Lord Eddward Rowan Arrived at the coronation of the king with his wife Merra and all of the Minor Lords that served under him. His son Larance was told he could have some fun but to be at the feast afterwards and his young son Jon was with House Hightower as squire. His third son Robb was kept at home while his daughter Asha was also home. He kept them away from politics for now.. Soon though he will introduce them to the realm.. But for now they were to remain home with the tutors and the Loyal guardsmen who were to take care of them while he and his wife were at the coronation and feast. He looked around and notice he was early to the coronation and that was not a bad thing. He was wearing his finest clothing to this occasion and showing off his wealth it was line with gold and his clothing was made of the finest silk.. His wife wore a silt gown black and low to the ground. He dismissed his minor lords who went about their own business as he made his way to a seat close to the front and sat down his wife sitting down next to him. They had arrived for their kings coronation and feast.. As he was sure there would be a feast afterwards.

    Donnel

From the thick doors entering the Throne room there ran two lines of men, creating a corridor towards the Iron Throne, which then turned 90 degrees the side of the room to maintain an open space before the Throne itself and to form two boxes for spectators. Both lines were mixed Blackguard and Goldcloak, alternating between the two such that each Blackguard stood between two Goldcloaks and vice versa. The men all faced inward, with their backs to the spectators.

This fusing of colour - light and dark - and of duty - to King's Landing for the Goldcloaks and to King Daemon personally for the Blackguard - was decided upon in order to convey the message of power and legitimacy side by side. Atop every spear held by a Blackguard hung a Blackfyre heraldic flag: the elongated triangle of blood red cloth with inset black Dragon hanging limp in the windless interior of the Great Hall, but fluttering in the breeze among those Blackguard stationed outside.

Donnel himself stood to the side, against the wall, in the cleared area near the Iron Throne. Along the wall to his left and right stood a dozen more Blackguard, held aside and stationed at the front in order to rush the Iron Throne should any late Baratheon supporters attempt to storm the pedestal. Security was, undeniably, very heavy.

    Leffords

The Lefford family stood among the Westerlands delegation: Raymar and Ryon wore casual clothing of fabrics, silks and leathers befitting nobility. Raymar's sister Kyra was also in attendance, wearing a blue and yellow dress that matched her House colours. Plans to see her wed had been halted by the war. None of the Leffords were close enough to the front to see Donnel in person, but knew he was alive and either in service or captivity of the King, having read the raven that told of his surrender after the "Battle of the Four Armies".

    Tyrells

Mace met a delegation of Reach nobility to the coronation, himself eager to meet with Lord Tarly, as he'd heard rumour of a battle at Tumbleton. He'd not left the capital since leading his 5,000 men to reinforce the King, and so looked forward to updates from those Lords he'd given armies to command.

Lord Eddward Rowan saw his Lord Paramount and made his way over to him. It had been some time since he saw the man ever since the war ended and he went off to the capital that very night. As he walked he noticed that there were two different kinds of guards in the throne room.. The traditional GoldCloaks which he knew from the times he came to visit the capital and new guards all in black. HE could not imagine what type of guard they were as they were and they were new to him. Could they be something connected to the Heritage of the new king and thus something of cultural honor guard. Which would make sense but he doubted it because he would of heard about it by someone. No these guards repersented something else and it worried him a bit. But now was not the time to think about it. He had finally reached his Lord Paramount.

He gave a bow to his Lord Paramount mace Tyrell before speaking " My Lord Paramount it is so good to see you on this grand day of our Kings Coronation. All of the Realm should be happy that it was the Reach that made the Westerlands bend the knee to the new King and avoid bloodshed in the seven kingdoms so that we for once can have peace in the realm. And I have some good news for you my Lord Paramount. soon the Reach will be filled with crown lands Perfume that my son had secured in trade deals he has made in Kings landing and in Duskendale. " He said in a calm voice as he looked around and then dropped his voice to a whisper so that only Mace Tyrell could hear him " My Lord Paramount..Do you have any Idea who those men in the black armor are ?. I have never seen them before in my life, They are not goldcloaks that is for sure, Could they be the Kings personal protection outside of the gold Cloaks ?. "He asked his Lord Paramount as he looked around at the gold Cloaks and the black armor men and wondered who those men were and what there connection to the King were if any.

"I hear word of a battle at Tumbleton," said Mace, having overheard chatter on the subject among the arriving Reach nobility, "I take it the fool refused to yield to you?"

"They are the Blackguard," said Mace, "I've observed them during my time here. I don't know exactly what their role is here in the city: they've taken the Dragonpit as their fortress and seem to be the only protection within the Red Keep on a daily basis, but what they do in the city, if anything, I'm unsure."

Lord Whent stood in the front with his wife and his perished son's children. The lord stood proudly as one of the few to support Daemon before he had won the major battles of the war.

Ser Terrence Whent stood infront of the crown, near enough to Blackfyre to protect him and far enough as to not be an obstacle to the septon crowning him. He was clad in white armor of the Kingsguard.
    Make the Reach great again.

Both the (not occupied members of the ) Hightower family attended,
as well as Lord Arryn (if LM doesn't surprise me in killing him straight away), accompanied by his wife and retainers.
While the present Hightowers would make their way towards the Tyrells, the Arryn party would rather remain in the background. Along the Hightowers was also the woman, Lord Rolland had promised towards Lord Mace Tyrell, Lady Leona Hightower, a woman around the age of the young Tyrell Lord, while being an actual beauty as most of the Hightower women.

    Lannister

Tywin arrived in a rich doublet of fine silk bearing the sigil of house Lannister. He wore a gold ring on each finger and a thick gold choker. A small knife hung at his belt, all in all he made a dashing figure. His slightly graying blonde hair gave him an air of dignity. He looked about to see if he knew anyone, perhaps he would greet the King.

    Ryker

In full ceremonial dress, Ryker Frey stood guard over the King, silent and watchful. He had added a plume of white horse hair to his helm to denote his new rank.

    Freys

Edywn and Lothar Frey also arrived, mainly for the tournament to take place after the coronation. If had been too long since they had either competed or done anything martial really. Old Walder had stayed home, complaining loudly he was too old for such nonsense. The two men chatted idly in the throneroom before spotting their brother whom they had not seen in a decade.

"By the seven it can't be..." Edwyn exclaimed upon spotting Ryker.

    "It is him!" Lothar added.

The two quickly approached their brother, who stood at least a head above both of them despite being younger. Ryker almost broke down upon seeing them. He barely recognized them. "Edwyn and Lothar..." He immediately hugged them both. Some emotional moments passed. "I..." words failed him.

"We should have come to see you sooner, but Aerys...was not the type of man we wanted to be near to." Edwyn explained. "Truly if we thought you would have needed us we would have come, but you took the oath and after what father did we did not think you would want to see us."

"Don't be absurd" Ryker responded. "Of course I would have wanted to see you."

The trio was soon laughing like they would have as children back at the Twins and exchanging stories.

With the coronation over, a feast was the next event the followed. Many had come far and wide, willingly or not, save for the absence of people from Dorne, the North and the Iron Islands. At this point, Daemon was available for all to speak with as the feasting began and the celebrations of the King's new reign initiated.

Daemon would find Tywin among the crowds and with his fellow Westerlands. The newly crowned King pats the Lion on the shoulder.

Good to see you remained in King's Landing for this, Tywin. And I have some news for you involving our earlier conversation.

Daemon finds his Lord Commander, Ser Frey, conversing with two other individuals in a rather brotherly and familiar way. He approaches the trio, curious as to who Ser Frey was speaking with.

Who are these two, Ser Frey?

Lord Eddward Rowan excused himself from his Lord Paramount and made his way over to the King. He kneeled before the king before speaking "My Name is Eddward Rowan High lord of the Northmarch, Lord of Goldengrove Long Live the King and Long live his family rule on the iron throne! I wish to serve you my King May we speak ?. " He asked the king while kneeling before him waiting for the king to respond to him so that he was allowed to speak to the king

Tywin executed a short bow "Indeed, your grace. It was an elegant coronation." he listened attentively.

"these are my brothers, Your Grace." Ryker replied. Both Edwyn and Lothar bowed.

Edwyn spoke for the true Freys "Your victories against Baratheon are already legendary, your grace. Although my house was swayed by propaganda of the Baratheons, not a single man of ours fought on their side. We even ended up fighting their allies when they invaded our lands. Baratheon had no control over even his own followers, he would have made a miserable king."

Serra stood proud and regal, next to her husband. Hers was the claim who Maegor had used to become a Blackfyre: his legitimacy rested on her hands and her womb. Blackfyre truly enjoyed that. She wore a red and black gown, lined with ermine, and a magnificent mantle, heavily embroidered with coiling dragons. She was Bittersteel's granddaughter, great-granddaughter to Daemon I and heir to Maelys the Monstrous. And that day she could proudly display her new-found authority and her proud ancestry. She was of the Blood of the Dragon, a Queen on her own right.

    ----------------------------

Lord Fossoway stood nearby, he wore a the clasp of his office as Hand of the King. Proud and coonfident, he watched as the realm's nobility arrives and takes positions in the Great Hall: Lannister, Tyrell, Frey, Tarly, Arryn, Whent, Lefford... The cream of the Seven Kingdoms, all had arrived to show their submission before Daemon IV; Fossoway nodded and saluted Lord Tyrell from afar. Lord Raymun was acompanied by several men wearing the liveries of the Hand.

The Stormlanders arrived, a small party of Knights and retainers loyal to Baratheon making their presence known in the Great Hall. Young lord Robert himself wasn't present, but Ser Connington, castellan of Storm's End, had come on his behalf to pledge reluctant fealty to the new king.

Jonos stood against the far wall in the Gold Ringmail, and Cloak of the Lord Commander of the Goldcloaks and watched each guest as they entered thoughts swirling. Some of the most powerful men and woman in the Kingdom would be in this hall tonight and many of them cared little for their new conqueror. However all of them held power, and Jonos liked being near where the power was. His father was off in a corner somewhere already starting to get drunk. Hopfully he would not make a fool of himself during the ceremony or pick any fights.

    OOC: Since most are here.

The commotion of the Red Keep would die down as the Septon and Septa began to move towards the royal couple, causing all focus to turn upon Daemon and his wife, Serra. The Septon was the first to stand before the people gathered, holding the covered crown within his hands. The holy man in question was elderly, but not too old. Long had his hair vanished into nothing, but he had strong legs for a man of his age and a firm voice to could speak to those present.

In this year, the two-hundredth and seventieth year since the landing of the most dread and mighty Aegon the Conqueror, a new age dawns for the Seven Kingdoms. Upon this day, a transition begins; let us cast aside the moon of dark nights for the sun of brighter days. Let us welcome the rain that will quench the thirst of the lands and nurture the fields. Let us welcome the spring that shall conquer the winter winds. Let us rejoice that the Seven above have given us a rightful heir to the Iron Throne.

The Septon turns to Daemon who remained as still as a statue upon the Iron Throne. The cloth is removed, revealing the crown of Maekar I; a band of gold that was decorated with iron spikes upon it. It was the crown of a warrior, just as Maekar was during his reign. The Most Devout raises the crown, for all to see before having it hover over the silvery hair of the Blackfyre. At the same time, the Septa turns as well, lifting revealing the crown destined for Serra and letting it hover above her head. In a loud voice, the Septon proclaimed.

By the power invested in me by the gods above, both old and new. By the blood within your veins and by the defeat of your enemies, I solemnly crown you, Daemon of the House Blackfyre, as King of the Andals, the Rhoynar and the First Men, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms and Protector of the Realm. Long may your reign be and let the light of the Seven shine upon you and your house for generations to come.

The crown would then be set upon the head of Daemon, causing him to breath deeply and exhale. As the Septon backed away for all to see, the Blackfyre could hardly believe this was happening. A decade ago, the realm witnessed the death of Jaehaerys I and the crowning of Aerys II, then witnessed the death of Maelys the Monstrous and endured the reign of Aerys the Mad. Though the Seven Kingdoms were not truly reunited, Daemon would see to it that they were united once more. The Septon turns to the congregation and raises his hands.

Long live His Grace, Daemon of the House Blackfyre, the Fourth of His Name, King of the Andals, the Rhoynar and the First Men, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms and Protector of the Realm!

The front ranks of Blackguard and Goldcloaks draw their swords and point them forward in a ceremonial salute, praising his name just as the Septon had.

The Waxley's were part of the retinue of lord Arryn, keeping mostly to themselves and chatting with the other Vale lords.

    --

Lady Swann entered as a part of the retinue of the Stormlords, headed by Connington. She wore a red dress; she didn't want to show up in black or white; her traditional colours. But she wanted to wear something festive. This was a coronation of a king after all. Not the one they had backed, but that didn't matter anymore. Blackfyre was King and the kingdom had to bow for him. "Long live the king." she proclaimed. She hoped to speak to someone interesting; the feast would be grant.
