Default Lannisport, The Seat of the Board

    -LANNISPORT-

Lannisport is located along the coast of the Sunset Sea where the river road, the gold road, and the ocean road meet. It is one of the major ports of the Seven Kingdoms and is the largest settlement in the Westerlands. Lannisport is smaller than King's Landing or Oldtown, but larger than Gulltown or White Harbor. The Lannisters anchors their fleet in its harbor. The city is renowned for its goldwork. Lannisport is policed by the well-trained City Watch. The city is home to the cadet branch House Lannister of Lannisport and distant kin to the Lannisters like Lannys, Lannetts, Lantells, and other lesser Lannisters, many of whom are yellow of hair.

    • Wealthy city: Lannisport is situated perfectly for making money. It sits at the meeting point of the sea road, the gold road and the river road, and is one of the largest ports in Westeros, allowing its owner one additional trade route.
    • City Watch: Lannisport is patrolled by the City Watch, renowned for being far better trained than their Oldtown counterparts. This gives Lannisport an additional 2,000 (distributed as 1,200 Light Infantry, 400 Heavy Infantry and 400 Archers) men for siege defense and -2 to assassinations, spying and escape rolls to foes within the city.
    • Home of the Westerlands Fleet: Lannisport serves as the home port for the Fleet of the Westerlands. Grants the owner of Lannisport an additional 1,000 naval point
    • Large City: Being such a large city with many walls, Lannisport may garrison an additional 100% of its levy and if it is not defended by at least 1,000 men, then it wll recieve a -1 to its defense rolls.

Ryon attends the meeting, having returned from the Vale with the required stonemasons. It had been a mixed bag for him so far, with the merchants at Pinkmaiden wasting a great deal of his time before eventually admitting there was no surplus grain available for sale, but the trip to Ninestars had yielded success.

Robar Clegane arrives to the meeting, he'd spent the year training peasant morons how to wield a spear with enough efficiency to actually keep order, and he was glad of a day's break from it.

"How do things progress?" Tygett inquired once the other mayors had been assembled. "I will happily report that our coffers will have a surplus from last year. I intend tgat somebof these funds be used to further expand commercial prospects."

"I have secured skilled stonemasons, building the desired expansions to Lannisport's districts should be less costly now," said Ryon, "My efforts to find contracts for grain have not been so successful. I would propose instead I look to the Reach for fruits instead."

"Things go less soundly on my end. Peasants are bloody stupid and even the spear seems to be beyond them. The militia and the city watch will be trained on time, but I might turn into Aerys II if they keep ing up."

"Well done." Tygett noted. "Stone will be most valuable to us. Yet we must keep trying to secure trade routes. The port and markets expand, we must bring in more merchants." he turned to Clegane. "Drill them night and day if you have to. The next time the Westerland host marches, we must swell it with men from this city."

Ryon arrives at Lannisport for the meeting as requested. With trade lanes filled into the city he was unsure what the meeting would be about: he had fulfilled his duty and was awaiting word on whether the Lannisters had anything further for him to do.

Robar took his seat with his fellow Mayors. "My Lords, I have just been appointed to the position of High Commander of the Westerlands Fleet." Robar paused to let that sink in. "Lord Tywin has tasked me with the creation of a fleet capable of defending the Westerlands from our enemies' superior fleets. Namely that of Redwyne.

To do this, I will need your help"

He passed out a set of documents to both men, detailing the supply requirements and other logistical information. "Lannisport will need to be equipped to house a permanent naval squadron. In addition, I will require ships. I would like you to use the wealth of Lannisport to introduce naval militia edicts, Lord Tygett. I would also like you to supply funds to build ships.

Ser Ryon, I would like to ask you to petition your father to sponsor and fund a naval squadron which will be housed here, in Lannisport."

OOC: I'm asking you to fill out your naval professional points and give them to the navy - much like the Blackguard. You get Naval Points and Army Points after all.

[OOC: You do? I don't see that in the rules. Show me where. All points cap references seem to indicate you get 5,000 points, not 5,000 "land" and 5,000 "naval".]

OOC: I was under the impression you did. It was agreed when we made the militia system.

[OOC: I don't recall the agreement nor is it mentioned in the rules. If you can find it said that we'd agreed that and it just didn't make it to the rules then it can be changed, or you can propose it as a change. Would probably be of benefit to naval Houses anyway.

Edit: The new militia system proposal thread and the thread that activated them make no mention of this.]

ooc: I was under the assumption 2500 points for a non-lord character and then 5,000 for a lord character. We might consider this arrangement to be that each man gets 1/3 of the additional 2500 points granted for becoming a lord, and then allot the points as the individual sees fit? As it stands currently, Tygett is sort of managing Lannisport's professional armies and paying for it out of the Lannisport treasury

Ooc: I was under the impression we had separate naval points - hopefully we will soon -. I eas basically asking Lannisport to fill it's ful 5k naval point allotment and at the same time I was asking Poach to use Gokdentoooth's naval points to raise another 5 k squadron.
