Prior to the reign of Daemon Blackfyre, measures had been taken to rebuild the Dragonpit as well as, more recently, the Great Sept of Baelor. Despite his distaste towards the Faith, the victorious king continued with the efforts to rebuild the Sept in its mirror image and, hopefully, add on new additions to show his consideration towards the Faith. As for the Dragonpit, its construction was relatively almost completed. He kept with the plans initially left by Aerys II, but decided to enlarge it so that the newly constructed Holdfast would serve as a barracks and station for the newly formed Blackguard, now commanded by the Lord Commander, Donnel Lefford.
To the rebuilding effort of the Great Sept, Daemon invests 100,000 gold dragons into new wings for the building, including a rebuilt Hall of Lamps, the rebuilding of the tombs below and brand new additions such as a public prayer area for passing citizens of King's Landing outside, a wing for housing the wounded and to feed the starving, and an enlargement to the storage areas to accommodate large quantities of food for feeding the poor. What was left remaining would be donated to the Faith as a consideration. No one could imagine that such gestures would eventually turn to venom within due time.
To the final stages of the Dragonpit's rebuilding, the King invests 94,000 gold dragons to enlarge the its perimeters in order to accommodate the larger Blackguard unit with fresh quarters for the Lord Commander, officers and other persons of note within its walls. Stables, armory, smithy, barracks, and other necessities are already built in presently with further money invested into enlarging the granaries and ensuring food was properly stored for the soldiers. The Holdfast, unnamed at this point, has fresh material gathered for the work to continue to be renewed. Upon the day construction is renewed, the King himself comes to inspect it.
==============================
Many workers bowed at the sight of Daemon Blackfyre as he walks through the almost finished quarters for the Blackguard. Attending him were the Lord Commander of the Kingsguard, Ser Frey, and the Lord Commander of the Blackguard, Ser Lefford. Members of this private army for the King were already seen patrolling the area and ensuring work was done in an orderly fashion. They also kept civilians away as this was military property and owned now by the King himself. Daemon walks through an archway, examining what would eventually be the Officer's quarters. He walks into one of the rooms, examining it further.
Seems you may live very well here, Ser Lefford. I may have to have a quarters here myself to dine with the men as I did with the Golden Company.
He then asks a worker to fetch him the overseer and ask how the progress was going of the present construction.
