White Sword Tower

The White Sword Tower contains the chambers of the bodyguard of King Daemon IV. It is a slender structure of four stories built into an angle of the castle wall overlooking the bay. A circular white room, known as the Round Room, has whitewashed stone walls hung with white woolen tapestries, and forms the first floor. A large white table (weirwood carved in the shape of a shield) with seven chairs provides a meeting space for the order. The undercroft holds arms and armor, the second and third floors the small spare sleeping cells of the six brothers of the Kingsguard, and the topmost floor is given over to the Lord Commander's apartments. His rooms are usually spare as well, but spacious, and they stand above the outer walls.

The current Lord Commander, Ser Ryker Frey, has not yet touched the furnishings left by his former Lord Commander

Following his promotion to the Kingsguard, Terrence Whent finds his way to the White Sword Tower and seeks out his new commander, Ryker Frey.

[Pontifex Maximus]

He finds Frey sitting at the head of a large oaken table, his helmet resting beside a pint of brown ale.

'Lord Commander.', Terrence bowed shortly. The armor on the Riverlander was still that of House Whent but he had a white cloak on his back. 'My name is Terrence Whent, son of Lord Robert. I thought it would only be right if I came to greet you as my new superior. I hope you have no quarrel with my promotion even though it was done out of political reasons. However, I still am skilled with sword and lance.'

[Pontifex Maximus]

"Never had much use for lances here." Ryker replied. "Sworss are always needed. What experience do you have?" the young lord commander paused to hear the new knight's background

'I was a squire during the War of Ninepenny Kings, in the battles against the Valesmen. Knighted by King Aerys himself. During this war I've led my house's forces to King's Landing and fought against the Valesmen again, where I was injured. Because my leg was broken I couldn't take part in the battle against the usurper Baratheon.'

[Pontifex Maximus]

"Good, you've seen something of war." Frey remarked. "You won't be a bad addition to the Kingsguard, the first that is. I've been sworn to this brotherhood for ten years and I'm the only onw that remains. You will follow my orders and the orders of our king without any hesitation. You will not father children, own land, or inherit. Do you understand?"

'I understand.', Terrence nodded. 'If you'll excuse me now, I'll go settle in my chambers.'

[Pontifex Maximus]

Frey went back to the White Book. "And see to your armor. Until more brothers are sworn, you and I will guard the royal family around the clock. We're in for some long nights, Whent." Ryker gave a stifled, dark laugh. The Kingsguard was an honorable calling, but much of it required patience.

Eddward Westerling Son of Daemon Westerling Arrives at White Sword Tower to speak to the Lord commander about becoming a KingsGuard.

[Pontifex Maximus]

He found the Lord Commander at the round table within the hall, the White Book open before him. "Another initiate, eh?"

[Lord Azazel]

Eddward Westerling Kneeled before the Lord Commander " Yes My Lord I wish to become a Kingsguard. I wish to protect the Royal family and the king with my Life. i have some training due to my father who trained me as well as with the Master of arms back at home. "

[Pontifex Maximus]

"Good. We are in need of skilled, faithful men." Ryker replied, closing the book. "Tell me about yourself."

[Lord Azazel]

Eddward Westerling Nodded his head at the man. " My Father is Lord Daemon Westerling of the Craq, Loyal Servant to the crown and to his Liege Lord and Lord Paramount. I was trained by the Master of arms since the time I was able to hold a blade. Made to guard my father when he had visitors to his keep at the age of 10. I was taught to fight at that age as well. I was taught from the beginning to be Loyal to the crown above all else. I am also educated in the skill of Mathmatics and history, As well as reading and writing thanks to my Septon tutor. while training under the Master of arms, I worked out and did my laps as well as train with my swords. I am a skilled fighter and I have at one time prevented someone form harming my father by fighting him and defeating the person in combat. " He said in a proud voice.. He was proud of what he had done over the years. He was born to be a KingsGuard.. That is for sure.. He just knew that he was meant to be a kingsguard.. Since he was a little boy.

"We haven't much use for history and mathematics in the brotherhood." Ryker commented dryly. He stood suddenly and drew his sword, seeing how Westerling would react. Before he could do anything the cold steel of Ryker's blade was pressed against his neck. Ryker whispered into his ear. "That's how quickly it will happen, when someone tries to kill the king. It will be after house of doing nothing but standing around as they go about the business of the day." He withdrew, sheathing his sword. "If the King ordered you to kill your father, how would you react?"

[Lord Azazel]

Eddward Westerling felt the cold blade on his neck and he tensed up as he listened to the man. He relaxed a little when the blade was withdrawn and he heard the Question.

" If the King Asked me to kill my father I will do ask he asked without question or delay or even hesitation . I serve the King and the Royal family not my own family or father. If the King wishs to see my father dead and orders me to do it. then I will kill my father because I follow the orders of the King. " Said in a dry voice, He had no love for his father and thus would have no problem killing him in a heartbeat.

[Pontifex Maximus]

"Very well." It was the precise answer he was looking for. Loyalty without question. "And the same goes for my commands." Frey rose, and produced a white cloak. "Welcome to the Kingsguard, Ser Westerling."

Eddward Westerling bowed before his Lord Commander as he waited to be handed the white cloak of the Kings Guard " Understood Lord Commander. thank you for allowing me to join the KingsGuard " He said in a dry voice. He had done what no other westerling has done and joined the Kingsguard at the age of 16. He was proud to serve his King and the realm. " If you excuse me Now Lord Commander I will make my way to my Quarters and meet the other KingsGuard thank you once again for allowing me to join the KingsGuard"
