    Default To Break a Footly

Lord Tarly arrives outside Tumbleton with a host of over ten thousand men. He smiles as he eyes the stout keep. They run inside the little hole, it'd be a blood bath if he couldn't get them surrender.. but truth be told it he'd favor that to the alternative. He rode forward with a rainbow flag, Heartsbane was strapped to his back. The Huntsmen could be seen prominently among the sea of livery. He wanted to speak with this Lord Ormund, more over he wanted to string him up.

    Start constructing seige towers.

[OOC: Footly rolled as still a Holy Lord, so I'll do 50/50 on whether he defies Highgarden. Rolled a 1, he defies them hardcore.]

The party approached the walls under a flag of truce, looking to speak to Lord Footly. A single arrow shot forth from the ramparts, hitting one of Lord Tarly's men in the shin. The man screamed and nearly fell from his horse, but he would live.

As the party spurred back to their own lines, Lord Footly could be heard screaming from the walls:
"Death to the heretic Tyrell and all his lackeys!"

Glancing over his shoulder, Tarly saw large banners of the Seven Pointed Star being unfurled and hung from the walls on either side of the gate.

Tarly gave a wicked grin as the troops rushed back out of arrow range. This would be fun..

Weeks later the tools of war were prepared. Seige ladders had been constructed, as well as heavy duty battering rams.

The order of battle was simple enough first the archers and longbow men would bombard the walls, than the army (including dismounted cavalry) would storm the walls. Tarly leads the second wave after the certainly bloody first assault, Heartsbane drawn and hunting for Lord Footly (he has +3 Survival, +3 Battles, and +11 Duels, +7 HP) making great bellowing calls for a duel while insulting Lord Footly's honor. Only the Polearms are uncommitted in the fight.

    900 Elite Infantry
    2,225 Heavy Infantry
    4,440 Polearms
    3,350 Archers
    900 Longbowmen
    300 Elite Cavalry
    242 Heavy Cavalry
    725 Light Cavalry

    Tumbleton Garrison

    200 Heavy Infantry (400 points)
    320 Light Infantry (320 points)
    200 Polearm Infantry (400 points)
    280 Archers (280 points)

    Total: 1,000 men

The Tarly forces, including the horse who had dismounted to fight as infantry, storm the walls in a bloody but ultimately one-sided battle. The thousand-strong defenders, zealous Poor Fellows and Warrior's Sons, put up a spirited and bitter fight, knowing that for them it was a battle of annihilation.

They take some seven hundred and thirty Tarly men with them in the defence, but after a few hours of fighting the keep had fallen.

    Survivors

    1,000 E Inf (25% were E Cav so 250 E Cav and 750 E Inf)
    2054 H Inf (10% were H Cav so 205 H Cav and 1849 H Inf)
    603 L Inf (all L Cav)

All Archers and Polearms as they were uncommitted to the melee.

[OOC: Rolled for a family, 75% chance of 1 child, then 50% for a second, then 25% for a third, 12.5% for a fourth. Each child gets 50/50 male/female. Son, Daughter, Son.]

Lord Ormund Footly is found in the hall of his keep, wounded but alive. His eldest son was found dead on the ramparts, his second son alive with his father - and also wounded - and his daughter, initially absent, is eventually dragged out from under the floorboards of her quarters after a hatch is found beneath a chest of drawers.

Talry had spent too many years under Nightsong's rule, he was a bitter man. Where's your Seven now? Talry spat in mirthful question. Hang the sod. He mused. From a tall tree with a short rope. He took a glancing look at the son. Hang him too. His men nodded and dragged the men off to their fate. We'll take the girl to Highgarden.
