BIOGRAPHY:
Descending from the First Men, the Hunters are one of the principal houses sworn to Arryn. Powerful and ancient, the house has ruled for centuries from their seat at Longbow Hall. Harrold is the fifth son of Harlan Hunter, his elder brothers being Eon, William, Robert and Jon, all born from the late lord Hunter and his first wife, Lady Deana Hardying. In an unfortunate row of events Eon and William died before their father with Jon succeeding to the lordship. Lord Jon ruled shortly, for he died during the Blackfyre invasion in the assault to Riverrun; hot-headed and bold he forgot to wear the gorget while overseeing the siege works. A crossbowman shot him, dying after some days of agony. His younger brother and heir was also wounded but survived the siege and the war. Alas, his health had been ruined and, crippled, died some months after Maelys perished in battle against Aerys II. The last and youngest son of Lord Harlan thus inherited the lordship after his brother’s early and fateful demise.
Lord Harrold is a dubious individual, sinfully lustful and impious, wrathful and rapacious. However, he is a charming man and an able administrator of his province, two redeemable traits. He is a rather indecisive and distrustful man, with an almost erratic behavior. Lord Hunter is rather short and slim, his head covered by a curly mane and his face framed by a wispy beard. Hunter's first wife died delivering a stillborn child and Hunter married the second for coin, not love, being a Grafton of Gulltown, one of the wealthiest houses in the Vale. Lady Gella Grafton is a devout and gentle woman, deeply disgusted by her husband’s infidelities and lack of religious zeal. Lord Hunter’s eldest sister was married to Ser Auranne Arryn and thus became mother to Lord Jon Arryn, Warden of the West and Lord of the Vale. She died on childbirth some years ago. Lord Harrold is fiercely protective of his lord and nephew. Currently, his heir is Jeyne Hunter, last child born to late Lord Harrold Hunter and Lady Deana Hardying in 253 AC.
HOUSEHOLD:
The Ladies:
- Lady Deana Hardying (born 212 AC): Old, wise and experienced. Still on the pink. Loves to hunt and has several hounds and hawks.
- Lady Jeyne Hunter (born 253 AC): Truly young, but wiser than she should. Exerts a moderating influence on Lord Hunter. Unwilling to marry, yet.
- Lady Gella Grafton (born 238 AC): Increasingly fat and bitter about his fate. Scorned by her husband, she took shelter on the Faith. Lady Gella has an incredibly fat cat called 'Ser Paws'.
The Bastards:
- Robar Stone: Rowdy and hard with muscle, straight like a lance. The Ladies' man. A squire at Redfort. Lord Hunter's favorite.
- Gyles Stone: Sickly and ailing. Unlikely to survive. Best friend of his haf-brother, Hugh. Lady Deana's favorite.
- Hugh Stone: Thick like a wall, strong like a bull. Best friend of his haf-brother, Gyles. No-one's favorite.
- Perra Stone: A fair girl with adorable cheeks and dark hair. Pampered and egotistical. Lord Hunter's darling.
The Servants:
- Master Wyllis: A lanky Westerlander with dirty blonde hair.
- Big Bill: A rather short man, old and square. In charge of the stables.
- Ser Vardis Upcliff: A sinister-looking tall man, former brother-in-law to Lord Harrold.
- Jon Longbow: Captain of the Hunters' household guard. He claims to be the natural great-grandson of a former Lord Hunter. His claim is dismissed by everyone else.
