    Default Seizing Pinkmaiden

[OOC: Oz didn't make a thread about this, he's been busy it seems. The army has been here for 36 hours so will have Siege Ladders (tier II) prepared already and can move off once finished.]

    Lefford Forces

+3 to Siege rolls (Siege Ladders)

    Lord Raymar Lefford
    Ser Ryon Lefford

    1,140 polearms
    2,235 Heavy Infantry
    2,500 Archers
    1,600 Light Cavalry
    380 Heavy Cavalry

    Pinkmaiden

    +4 to rolls (Minor Castle)

    80 Heavy Infantry (160 points)
    150 Light Infantry (150 points)
    80 Polearm Infantry (120 points)
    120 Archers (120 points)

    Total: 430 men

    Battle

While Tywin's forces attacked the greater prize of Riverrun, the smaller force of House Lefford struck south and aimed to seize the lightly-held castle at Pinkmaiden, the seat of House Piper.

Time was on their side, so the army had taken time to build large, sturdy ladders that would allow the walls to be swarmed from all sides, stretching the few defenders perilously thin. With Riverrun besieged any Tully response would go there first.

Ryon would lead the assault. Success here would create a buffer between the Westerlands and hostile Riverland territory.

    Post Battle

After the victory, the army will send word of its success, and await word from Lord Lannister for further movement.

[OOC: No. The garrison is tiny, so it's sheer numbers being employed to take the walls. Archers fire their volley then the Heavy Infantry will storm the walls. Polearms can't fight in siege assaults.]

The Castle held for some time, but eventually the Lefford numbers took the keep.

The defenders had fought well: they had claimed near 400 men, amounting to a man for every defender, despite the advantage in numbers and equipment being in Raymar's favour. They'd fought well.

Ryon had lead the first wave, a wave that had been killed nearly to a man, and had been taken off of the walls after the castle had fallen with a spear point broken off in his leg. He'd be limited to commanding from horseback henceforth.

One hundred Polearm troops and fifty archers would be left as a garrison. If the enemy arrived to seize the castle again they were expected to simply attempt to get a raven to Goldentooth and hold the enemy up for a few weeks.

[OOC: Arrival at Stone Hedge would have happened at 2000 BST today, accounting for timestamp and waiting 6 hours before moving.]

The army arrives at Stone Hedge and prepares to besiege the castle.

    Lefford Forces

    Lord Raymar Lefford
    Ser Ryon Lefford

    1,040 polearms
    1,847 Heavy Infantry
    2,450 Archers
    1,600 Light Cavalry
    380 Heavy Cavalry

    = 7,317 men

    Stone Hedge

+5 Siege Defence (player minor castle with +1 building)

    80 Heavy Infantry
550 Light Infantry (400 more than the normal garrison, player building)
    80 Polearm Infantry
    120 Archers

    Total: 830 men

Assault at 0800 BST 23 June.

Same as last time, Archers fire their volley followed by a Heavy Infantry assault. Due to the superior defences at Stone Hedge compared to Pinkmaiden, the Light Cavalry are ordered off their horses to join the Heavy Infantry in the assault. They will be Light Infantry therefore.

"Surrender and your men will go home alive but disarmed." said Raymar to the man, "Your walls aren't high enough: I'll have ladders before long and I have the numbers. You can't win and can't hold out."

"House Bracken has no quarrel with the west, my Lords." The Stewart says, "They do not ride with the fish."

"House Bracken went south to treat with the king," The Steward says, "They informed King Steffon of Tully's treachery." They informed king Daemon as well if it came to that.

[OOC: Trot's not responding any more, but if the Castellan continues to lie or be evasive a rider will be sent to Lord Lannister for confirmation. They're 1 hex apart so Light Cavalry can get there and back without delaying the assault at 0800 BST 23 June, assuming Lord Lannister confirms that yes, House Bracken are not known to be allies of King Steffon.]

    Word arrives to Lord Lefford:

Victory against the Riverlanders. The siege continues. We have lost an amount of men against them. We're taking defensive positions. Press the attacks and conquer the southern lands.

At 2pm word will be sent to Lannister asking for further instructions as Harrenhal is beyond his ability to seize. Not sure where else in the southern Riverlands I can attack. Reaction at 2pm based on his orders.

OOC: Don't know when this will arrive.
    Lord Lefford,

Harrenhall is beyond your power, but the castles sworn to it aren't. Pillage or loot those seats and take captives whenever it's posible. If you fear that might overstretch your host simply march north and join us at Riverrun.

Shortly after a second raven arrives.

    Lord Lefford,

We will not waste our men against the walls of Riverrun. Arryn declared for Baratheon, we must hold the crossings and link with him there. We will thus double our strenght and march with renewed might. Start marching towards Darry and hold the crossings in our stead. Our own army will soon arrive there. From Darry we shall discuss the next course of action.
