Jarak Mormont along with his soldiers camp within the sprawling Northman camp. They marched south again to save the rears of the Riverlands. History seemed to be repeating itself again and again despite all the blood that was spilled to prevent things like this from happening. Jarak shrugged and looked for Stark to meet with him.

Mormont finds Stark riding toward the head of the column. His twin brother Brandon is close behind him, and his blood brothers Lord Dustin and the vicious clansmen Lord Flint ride close beside him. The scars from the wildfire attack run all along Stark's left arm. They didn't seem to notice Mormont just yet.

Mormont himself rides forwards toward the group, the absolutely massive seven foot tall man a fiery red beard is hard to miss, but his voice booms loudly as he calls to Stark.

"Hail Lord Stark. Have we received any more news of what awaits us at Riverrun?"

Stark's cold gray eyes turned toward Mormont. Ah, Lord Mormont. He began in his rough baritone. Aye, Westermen. Thinking they can usurp the Tully seat. Opportunistic filth.

Jarak snorts. Westermen were mere merchants and miners not real warriors. "Well then it won't be long befofe the blood of Westermen coats Longclaw and turns the waters of the Riverlands red with blood. Damned Westermen have always been opportunistic cowards. We need to put them back in their places!" He thinks for a moment. "I still have my ships at home on Bear Island and some more militia if I can find more money to pay them with. While the Lannisters seek to rape the Riverlands a force could operate in their rear raiding their possessions..."

Provided nothing drastic happens to my characters (and it might) I'm posting this now because Peri and I won't be able to do this in a timely fashion later.

A rider sent to Frey's forces from Riverrun with a letter saying that the have followed the Lannister forces south, and their trail leads East, North east. They request a rendezvous

Mormont grumbles loudly as he continues to ride south, close to the other lords such as Dustin, Stark, and Glover. Jarak rarely spent much time in the saddle, preferring to march on his own massive legs with the rest of his men or sail the seas on the war galleys of Bear Island. There was precious little time to waste riding horses. Jarak begins grumbling again, but this time loud enough to be heard. "Damned horses with their bumping and jumping. My arse is worse off than that time the Wildling's arrow took me in the rear! I need to wet ole Longclaw with some Westermen blood and get the juices flowing through my limbs before I lose my mind." He pauses and looks towards Stark. "I assume we're going to come up with some sort of plan for this battle Stark? I don't like being asked to fight outside the North, but if I have to I'd like a say in how we'll do the killing." He nods at Dustin as well. "Hail man. It is quite good to see you. I almost can't remember the last time I visited your hall for a bite!"

Indeed. Stark replied shortly. I suspect Walder Frey will aid us as he did the last time when we saved the Trouts from the Vale. We'll fall upon the Westermen as we did the southern enemies before. Jarak nods. The war against the Vale had schooled him in the art of war and it had awoken a martial fire that had yet to be quenched.
