    Default Tiers

    So what are the current thoughts on the tier system? Will they be based upon time period with early high and late? Or skill regardless of equipment and time period?

    Time Period. Definitely time period. You should be able to recruit elites in the early period in limited number. I hate it if the unit upgrade system forces you to have all-elite army in late-game.

    Tier one is 13th century, tier 2 is 14th century, tier 3 is 15th century.
