Information Thread for Potential Vampire Counts Units

From their powerbase within the former Imperial province of Sylvania, the descendants of the Von Carstein bloodline have vied time and again to topple the authority of the Empire of Man. Since the time of Vlad von Carstein, it is the sole purpose of the Von Carstein family to inherit the Empire as their own, using attempts of legitimacy, assassination and outright invasion to achieve such ambitions. Yet time and again they've been pushed back towards Sylvania and hunted ceaselessly for their horrific origins. Yet no matter how many Von Carsteins fall, there always seems to be another willing to take its place, disturbing the graves of the dead and plotting to finally plunge the Empire into their cruel tyranny.

    Vampire Bloodlines
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Vampires are immortal beings that have spread the loathsome curse of Undeath across the realms of Men for centuries. Though many lineages of this foul race now live in the rain-swept forests of the far north, their true origins lie within the once great civilisation of Nehekhara. The true masters of Undeath; they retain much of their original intelligence and capabilities despite their curse, and hence retain their ambition and desire. This makes them very dangerous indeed, for Vampires, due to their immortality, have an extensive period of time in which to hone their skills and refine their schemes to utter perfection. There are five major bloodlines of vampire, these are:
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Vampire

    Von Carsteins
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Most of the history of the bloodline is lost: specifically, everything between Vashanesh becoming a vampire and the resurgence of Vlad. Some claim that Vlad and Vashanesh are one and the same, but none can confirm this. They are seen as having close bonds with animals such as wolves and bats. These vampires have no particular modifications and several of their bloodline powers emphasise their ties with animals. They are hereditary rulers of Sylvania.

    https://www.games-workshop.com/fr-CA...uestid=7574630

Blood Tax Collectors = The Tax in Sylvania is the tax of Blood. Families and communities are expected to give up a family member or one of their number to feed their lords. The idea of this unit was that these would be mortal humans who do the collecting for them.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wi...#The_Blood_Tax

Doom Wolves = Vampires sometimes keep the largest of these creatures in pens deep below their castles and towers, feeding them on local peasants until they are large and glutted, then goading them to new heights of viciousness. The Vampires imbue their creations with Dark Magic to increase vitality and bestow a callous cunning. These monstrous creations are known as Doom Wolves.
    http://whfb.lexicanum.com/wiki/Dire_Wolves

Drakenhof Templars = The original Drakenhof Templars were a genuine knightly order. Founded long before Otto von Drak was usurped by Vlad von Carstein, they had the noble goal of driving the darkness out of Sylvania. Needless to say, they failed, and Konrad von Carstein himself tore the last Grand Master apart hundreds of years ago. There were several iterations of the order, for Vlad and his heirs were ever imitators of human tradition, and the most recent incarnation of the order was compromised of vampires considered unworthy to bear the von Carstein name.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wi..._Dragon_Orders

Mindless Nulls = The new Vampire will be a thrall to the old, and as time goes will either become nothing more than a mindless null, or become stronger and break free from their master. These mindless nulls are those who were given the Blood Kiss but have succumbed to the will of their vampric ‘fathers’, they follow all he commands. The Von Carsteins view those of this affliction as pathetic and throw them into battle in the hopes of killing them off.
    http://whfb.lexicanum.com/wiki/Vampire#Reproduction

Sylvanian Conscripts = Mortal humans who fill the roles of the basic troops of the Empire. Likely smaller in size due to the smaller population of Sylvania.

Sylvanian Levy Archers = Von Carstein armies are unique because the peasants of Sylvania still consider them as their legitimate rulers and gladly fight for them.
https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...DlMdktzeWcyU0E Warhammer Fantasy 6th Edition Vampire Counts Army Book

Sylvanian Levy Crossbowmen = Von Carstein armies are unique because the peasants of Sylvania still consider them as their legitimate rulers and gladly fight for them.
https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...DlMdktzeWcyU0E Warhammer Fantasy 6th Edition Vampire Counts Army Book

Sylvanian Levy Free Company Militia (Greatswords) = Von Carstein armies are unique because the peasants of Sylvania still consider them as their legitimate rulers and gladly fight for them.
https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...DlMdktzeWcyU0E Warhammer Fantasy 6th Edition Vampire Counts Army Book

Sylvanian Levy Huntsmen = Von Carstein armies are unique because the peasants of Sylvania still consider them as their legitimate rulers and gladly fight for them.
https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...DlMdktzeWcyU0E Warhammer Fantasy 6th Edition Vampire Counts Army Book

Thralls = The new Vampire will be a thrall to the old, and as time goes will either become nothing more than a mindless null, or become stronger and break free from their master. They are those given the Blood Kiss who thrive under their new condition.
    http://whfb.lexicanum.com/wiki/Vampire#Reproduction

    Dismounted Drakenhof Templars

    Blood Dragons
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
They are consummate warriors, whose skill at arms are unmatched in the Old World, living only for martial combat and brutal battle. Usually fighting from horseback, the Blood Dragons sometimes fight on foot, and are masters of all forms of combat and all weapons, though they eschewed cowardly ranged weapons and magic in favour of pure physical strength and martial skills.

Abhorash’s Disciples = Abhorash's disciples dispersed far and wide across the world, seeking to emulate the achievements of their undying master. Many died in battle against heroic warriors and fearsome beasts, others survived and their names passed into legend and infamy. They are among the greatest vampires of their bloodline.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wi...ion_and_Legacy

Blood Knights = Their training and discipline in life was enhanced by the unnatural speed and strength of the vampiric curse. Blood Knights were nigh indestructible, riding with fangs bared through storms of arrow and shot. Such was their honour that they would refuse no martial challenge, and would fight at the forefront of an Undead army without question.
    http://whfb.lexicanum.com/wiki/Blood_Knight

Initiates of the Dragon = New vampires of the Blood Dragon Orders, they may not have embraced their powers fully yet but the Blood Dragons only turn those who are exceptionally skilled warriors, so even these initiates are dangerous.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Blood_Dragons

Knights of the Bloody Grail = Duke Maldred claimed to have found the Grail of the Lady and had all his knights drink from the wine that flowed from the heavy silver cup. The grail was proved false, and Maldred was routed and Mousillon prohibited from having a lord ever again. But the cup’s liquid appeared to give Maldred’s knights an unholy strength.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Bloody_Grail

Skeleton Bowmen = Listed as a unit in Blood Dragon armies.

    Dismounted Abhorash’s Disciples
    Dismounted Blood Knights
    Dismounted Initiates of the Dragon
Dismounted Knights of the Bloody Grail

    The Lahmian Sisterhood
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
The Lahmians may not have the brute strength of some of the other bloodlines, but they more than make up for this lack in cunning, deviousness, and their mastery of others. The Lahmians are secret string-pullers of the world, invisibly exerting untellable control over history. Their immortal plots are difficult for short-lived humans to see, and some that were set in motion in antiquity have yet to come to fruition.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Lahmians

Acolytes of the Blood = These are mortals who are the loyal servants of the households of Lahmian vampires; these are almost always women, many of whom hope to be given the Dark Gift and raised up to being vampires of the sisterhood.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Lahmians#Society

Asaph = Lahmia Vampires who wield Asp Bows similar to the one in the wiki entry below.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Asp_Bow

Black Guard = Undead wights covered head to toe in black, hiding their skeletal forms from the eyes of the Queen of the Silver Pinnacle. I’m guessing they’ll be like Grave Guard? “Surrounding the court is a network of trapped passages and Undead guards covered from head-to-toe in black.”
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Silver_Pinnacle

Coven Throne = The monarchs of the night are often borne to war on gilded palanquins. These bone-frame constructs are held aloft by the spirits of those who have fallen in love with their owners and got nothing in return but death. Men shiver in awestruck disbelief at the exotic beauty of the handmaidens lounging upon these Coven Thrones - hypnotised by a beguiling glance, a kiss upon the air, or a subtle finger beckoning them into eternal servitude. Should go without saying that only female vampires would be on this.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Coven_Thrones

Lahmian Sorceresses = It is known that the Lahmian Vampires have a grasp of sorcery, a strong grasp, and that their queen is one of the eldest sorceresses in the world. It stands to reason that a unit of casters would work well for this bloodline.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Lahmians#History

Risen Dawi = Skeletons of Dwarves that were risen into undeath to evict the Dwarves from the mines of the Silver Pinnacle. Many of these still serve the Lahmian’s, just kept out of sight as these vampires prefer their playthings to be beautiful.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Silver_Pinnacle

Swains = "Heroes from any other Warhammer Armies book, or Ravening Hordes if the book is not out yet. Swains are equipped exactly as normal for their army list, including any mount and magic item they could normally take from their own list. If the Lahmian General, the immortal object of their desire, is destroyed, then the Swains will be subject to the rules for hatred for the rest of the game, even if normally Immune to Psychology." - Due to the vast number of options I won't list them all here, but I'd assume they'd come from any human faction.
https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...DlMdktzeWcyU0E Warhammer Fantasy 6th Edition Vampire Counts Army Book

The Deathless Court = Queen Neferata handmaidens; The handmaidens vie for Neferata’s attention, practising their manipulations on each other in the Deathless Court’s society in miniature where they may betray whilst smiling sweetly. I’d assume these would be amongst the most dangerous of the Queen’s vampires. They could be mounted or not, no idea, up to you.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Lahmians#Society

    Brotherhood of Necrarchs
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
The Necrarchs are the most learned of Vampires, more skilled at sorcery than with the blade. These skills have come at a price, however. The appearance of the Necrarchs has grown so hideous and unnatural that an ordinary man cannot bear to look upon them, and many run screaming at the sight. When their great library was burned to the ground by fearful mortals, many Necrarchs remained to burn with it, so strong was their devotion to knowledge.

Abyssal Terrors = Some of these monsters are creatures of Chaos born from the mountains, the resurrected hybrids of rapacious beasts or resurrected monsters that were given life with the use of necromancy. Others are nightmarish creations that were given bodies of writhing blood and flayed skin thanks to the use of science and dark magic. The most common of these variants are generally winged creatures.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Abyssal_Terrors

Dregs = Outcasts, mutants and other mortals who seek out the Necrarchs to find the acceptance they’d never find elsewhere.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Necrarch#Society

Necrarch Acolytes = Necrarch vampires who are studying under a master Necrarch Sorcerers, they are often the targets of their masters mad delusions and frequently these will attempt to overthrow their insane masters whilst suffering the same insanity themselves.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Necrarch

Necrarch Sorcerer = A very powerful necromancer.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Necrarch

    Nightmarish Constructs = Monstrous golems.
    https://i.imgur.com/ehUgAFt.png White Dwarf 256

Patchwork Men = Monstrous creations of necromancy, stitched together corpses of men that retain a semblance of their former selves. Often these turn on the Necromancers who made them, but if controlled they are like an uber-zombie.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Patchwork_Men

Unridden Zombie Dragon = "Necrarch armies always include major necromantic constructs, such as Winged Nightmares and Zombie Dragons. So great is their power over their unliving minions that these huge beasts can fight on their own, without the need of a rider to directly control them."
    https://i.imgur.com/lMPP8s8.png White Dwarf 142
https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...DlMdktzeWcyU0E Warhammer Fantasy 6th Edition Vampire Counts Army Book

Warpspawn Necrarchs = Necrarchs have experimented replacing the need for blood with a need for warpstone but all have failed. Many have failed catastrophically, becoming even more warped than they already are. They become bloated abominations that cannot walk, bestial creatures worse than the Strigoi, awful things like Chaos Spawn with impossible forms too bizarre to hold together.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Necrarch#Society

    Strigoi Ghoul Kings
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
The Vampires of the other bloodlines play at being mortal and wear the robes of lords, knights, and princes, but underneath, the Vampire is purely a beast. There are those who lose themselves so much in their pretence that they forget this. The Strigoi have not forgotten and do not pretend. They embrace the beast within them, taking all the strength and fury the animal can give them. That strength is terrible to behold, and that fury knows no end.

Ajal = "Vorag watched them go, and then turned to look down the slope where his followers waited. There were six of them – five Strigoi ajals, clad in furs and banded mail, their heads shaved clean save for the traditional scalp-locks that marked blooded warriors amongst the Strigoi, and one other, clad in tattered robes and clutching a staff topped by a man’s skull, the yellowed bone carved with strange symbols and words in a language long since dust."

    Charnel Guard = "Ghouls with WS4, S4, I4, LD7"
https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...DlMdktzeWcyU0E Warhammer Fantasy 6th Edition Vampire Counts Army Book
    https://i.imgur.com/5ajjPFg.jpg 3rd Ed. Armies Book

Mourkhain Guardians = "Two armoured shapes stepped out of specially prepared niches set in the wall to either side of the throne. They wore ancient armour composed of rotting leather and bronze plates and carried crude, square-bladed swords."
Warhammer Fantasy Short Story: Master of Mourkhain

Strigany = Human followers longing for a return to the days of their glory. The maddest of these nomads seek out the Strigoi Ghoul Kings in a twisted, perverted method of living out their dreams. They are fanatically loyal to these gruesome vampires, though deeply terrified of them as well. In the 6th Edition Book they use two hand weapons and can wear light armour.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wi...and_Stratagems
https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...DlMdktzeWcyU0E Warhammer Fantasy 6th Edition Vampire Counts Army Book

Strigany Domnu = Human followers longing for a return to the days of their glory. The maddest of these nomads seek out the Strigoi Ghoul Kings in a twisted, perverted method of living out their dreams. They are fanatically loyal to these gruesome vampires, though deeply terrified of them as well. In the 6th Edition Book they use two hand weapons and can wear light armour, these were champions of the Strigany.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wi...and_Stratagems
https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...DlMdktzeWcyU0E Warhammer Fantasy 6th Edition Vampire Counts Army Book

Strigany Horse Nomads = ”Cresting the Deihstein Ridge, the Grand Theogonist saw a chaotic battle unfolding between a caravan of Strigany horse nomads and the mud-splattered soldiers of von Korden’s contingent.”
    https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...WhndVE0VklZZDA Sigmar’s Blood - Page 24

Strigany Sharpshooters = ”Thundering down the hill, Volkmar’s War Altar ploughed into a trio of brightly-painted cloth wagons that blocked the road, bowling them over and trampling several Strigany sharpshooters in the process.”
    https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...WhndVE0VklZZDA Sigmar’s Blood - Page 24

Strigoi Thralls = It is rare for them to breed, but it does happen. These would be rather fresh compared to the more beastial Ghoul Kings, but still a bit weird looking.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wi...g_and_Breeding

Strigheist = Ghoul Kings riding on the backs of Terrorghiest, supremely dangerous to all.
    http://whfb.lexicanum.com/wiki/File:Strigoi_mounted.jpg

Vojnuk = "They had served him in life as vojnuk – the armoured horsemen who wielded hunting spears to deadly effect against the enemies of Mourkain. Their crashing charges had broken the back of more than one orc horde or barbarian battle line. Now, in death, they had become wights, their bloodthirsty souls anchored to their withered husks by Kadar’s sinister arts. They had been the edge of his army’s blade in life, and in death they fulfilled much the same function, when they were not serving as guards."

    Character Mounts
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Carrion = The giant bird of death is a creature of Chaos. A powerful master of Necromancy can draw it from the Chaos Wastes where it feeds upon the souls of the misguided
    https://i.imgur.com/5ajjPFg.jpg 3rd Ed. Armies Book

Undead Chariots = There are those among the undead who ride into battle upon empty carcasses of huge creatures, wheeled in bone and pulled by undead horses
    https://i.imgur.com/zS6HyvW.jpg 3rd Ed. Armies Book

    Animated
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
The Vampire Count armies are formed on the backs of those who are long dead, or freshly dead, anywhere in between really. Necromancers join their forces and spread undeath further, creating monstrosities that their masters have not thought of making. Here are a few of those missing risen units.

Black Knights (Bretonnian) = "If the Black Knights were of Bretonnian origin during their lives, they will still fight in their renowned lance formation. Their Nightmares must have barding."
https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...DlMdktzeWcyU0E Warhammer Fantasy 6th Edition Vampire Counts Army Book

Bone Giants = The resurrected skeletons of dead Giants. Though not in the rulebook, White Dwarf issue 234 has a massive Bretonnian themed Vampire Counts army from the Games Workshop exhibition centre that has a bone giant in its forces.

Carrion = The giant bird of death is a creature of Chaos. A powerful master of Necromancy can draw it from the Chaos Wastes where it feeds upon the souls of the misguided
    https://i.imgur.com/5ajjPFg.jpg 3rd Ed. Armies Book
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Carrion

Death Riders = Listed on page 122 of the 3rd edition rules. "These knights of undeath are mounted on undead horses, creatures of wholly unnatural appearance and uncanny abilities." Wield Hand Weapons. Variants include; Shields, Lance, Spear, Bows.
    https://i.imgur.com/zS6HyvW.jpg 3rd Ed. Armies Book
    https://i.imgur.com/IpwkDzk.jpg 3rd Ed. Armies Book

Death Skulls = The Death Skulls consist of human, beastmen and skaven skulls that have developed powers due to prolonged exposure to warpstone
    https://i.imgur.com/1q3KBvr.png White Dwarf 98

    Dust Goblins = Undead goblins
    https://i.imgur.com/wIwjWM9.png Warhammer Chronicles 2003
    https://i.imgur.com/YcHJHPQ.png Warhammer Chronicles 2003

Elven Wights = "Elven Wights are the remains of ancient Elven heroes, dating back to the War of the Beard. Their souls are unable to find peace, consumed with the arrogance and bitterness that fuelled that ancient conflict. Like other Wights, they are usually found in full battle dress. Little remains of the body save for the skeleton and perhaps a few scraps of flesh, but this is merely a shell for the Wight’s dark soul. If an Elven Wight so chooses, it can manifest its spirit to mortal eyes, appearing to be a living Elf. In battle, they drop this disguise, revealing their true nature in order to inspire fear in their foes."
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Elven_Wight

Flayed Beastmen = "More revolting still, the tower was being pulled by the dead beastmen that had been flayed to make it. Hundreds of skinless beast-corpses were harnessed to the towers, pulling them forwards by ropes that pierced them through their chests and strung them together like grisly fetishes on a shaman's braid."
    Gotrek & Felix: Zombieslayer - Chapter 11

Grave Guard (Spears) = A spear version of the unit.

Grim Reapers = Carrying the symbol of their deadly craft, the Grim Reapers represent the very personification of death. Can wield; Light Armour, Shields
    https://i.imgur.com/IpwkDzk.jpg 3rd Ed. Armies Book
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wi...ampire_Counts)

Hel Fenn Zombies = Large units of zombie empire troops trapped in the swamps. Vampires and necromancers fight over this large resource of bodies frequently.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Hel_Fenn

Kings of Draesca = Each new High King is determined to carve his mark on the world before his tenure has passed, and so the armies of the Draescan Kings go forth into the world every seven-year cycle, their numbers bolstered not only by thousands of the living dead but by the dusty cadavers of every king to have ever worn the helm. This would be a unit of those cadaverous kings.
    http://whfb.lexicanum.com/wiki/The_Helm_of_The_Draesca

Knockers = Knockers are undead revenants of miners killed in accidents, particularly accidents caused by carelessness or greed. They are all but mindless and utterly hostile to those who have survived where they have perished. They look as if they have been crushed under rock and then crawled back to their feet. Their bodies are badly damaged. They seem to arise spontaneously, but it is likely that Necromancers are behind it in some way. I’m guessing they’re a bit like a zombie with a mining pick.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Knocker

Ordo Draconis Wights = The most worthy of the Ordo Draconis were turned into Blood Dragon vampires when the Blood Keep was conquered, those considered unworthy were raised as Wights to fight in their armies.
    https://www.scribd.com/doc/315259635...s-Dark-Masters Warhammer Fantasy RPG

Scuttling Hands = A hand cut from the corpse of a murderer is well known by magisters and necromancers alike for its magical properties.
    https://www.scribd.com/doc/315259635...s-Dark-Masters Warhammer Fantasy RPG

Skeletal Archers = Undead vessels can carry a detachment of Skeleton Archers to fire at incoming flyers. Can also wield; Light Armour
    https://i.imgur.com/zS6HyvW.jpg 3rd Ed. Armies Book
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wi...ampire_Counts)
    https://www.scribd.com/document/2230...del-Journal-06

Skeleton Arquebuses = Skeleton Warriors carrying arquebuses. Can wield light armour.
    https://i.imgur.com/zS6HyvW.jpg 3rd Ed. Armies Book

Skeleton Crossbows = Skeleton Warriors carrying the deadly crossbow. Can wield light armour.
    https://i.imgur.com/zS6HyvW.jpg 3rd Ed. Armies Book

Skeleton Reapers = Skeleton warriors armed with the very symbol of death itself - the scythe. May equip Light Armour, Shields
    https://i.imgur.com/zS6HyvW.jpg 3rd Ed. Armies Book

Skeleton Warriors = The bulk of the undead are plucked from their graves in the form of skeletons, fleshless and unfeeling, fearless and frightening. Can also wield; Spears, Shields, Light Armour
    https://i.imgur.com/zS6HyvW.jpg 3rd Ed. Armies Book
    https://i.imgur.com/IpwkDzk.jpg 3rd Ed. Armies Book

Styrigen Wights = Hidden amongst their winding track and foggy vales, however, are the tombs of the ancient chiefs of the Styrigen tribes. Dug into the hillsides or built as turf-covered barrows, these date from pre-Imperial times. Locals consider the tombs cursed.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wi...land#Geography

Sylvanian Levy = A unit from the Storm of Chaos army list for Sylvania. These are zombie levy who have halfberds. Probably quite useless.
    https://www.scribd.com/doc/175292173/Wfb-Storm-of-Chaos

Sylvanian Militia = A unit from the Storm of Chaos army list for Sylvania. These are skeletal militiamen who have light armour, shield and spear. They may exchange their shield and spear for a Crossbow. Probably quite useless at shooting.
    https://www.scribd.com/doc/175292173/Wfb-Storm-of-Chaos

Tomb Guardians = A bodyguard unit listed in the Citadel Journal magazine on Issue 13, Page 39, as such they may not be fully loreful, but I’m including them none-the-less. They’re elite skeleton warriors who use halberds in combat. As they’re a bodyguard unit, I’d assume they would be tougher to beat than the Grave Guard.

Unholy Blades = When great warriors die with a vow unfulfilled or a curse upon them they sometimes return as Wights, sometimes their spirit passes directly into the weapon they used in battle. These dark blades contain the bloody thoughts of their wielders, usually it waits for someone to pick it up before corrupting them to their desires, other times they will animate themselves.

Wicker Man =A malevolent construct made by some necromancers.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Wicker_Man

Wights = Wights are held together by evil magic so strong that it can last for many centuries. They wear ancient armour of bronze and black iron, corroded by time and dusty with years. They are armed with enchanted swords that drain life from their victims. Page 53.

Wight Dragon Riders = "Wights are held together by evil magic so strong that it can last for many centuries. They wear ancient armour of bronze and black iron, corroded by time and dusty with years. They are armed with enchanted swords that drain life from their victims." Towards the end of the document is a model for a wight dragon rider.

    Ethereals
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Banshees = I know there is a heroic unit already that is a banshee, but there should really be a normal unit as well.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Banshee

Battlespirit = A wraith-like creature that rides Carrion.
    http://www.solegends.com/citc/c034carrion/index.htm

Ethereal Host = A unit from the Warmaster game, shown in the Warmaster magazine.
    https://www.scribd.com/doc/239419688...azine-Issue-05

Ghosts = "Ghosts are ethereal creatures or spirits, the shades of dead men returned to haunt the land of the living. Few men have power to command Ghosts, but there are dark magics which can bind these creatures to the will of a powerful magician."
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Spirits
https://i.imgur.com/3EUdi55.png Warhammer 3rd Edition Battle Bestiary

Hellraiser = A wraith-like creature that rides Carrion.
    http://www.solegends.com/citc/c034carrion/index.htm

Marshlights = ”Marshlights are ethereal creatures which take the form of glowing lights; they can appear to be lanterns, vaguely humanoid figures, or other crude shapes. They can neither wound nor be wounded, although magical weapons may drive them off. They are dangerous because of any physical damage they cause, but because of the compelling hypnotic effect by which they lead mesmerised individuals to their deaths. It is thought that they feed in some vampiric way upon the ebbing life-forces of their victims.”
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Marshlight

Minor Death = A wraith-like creature that rides Carrion.
    http://www.solegends.com/citc/c034carrion/index.htm

Poltergeists = More mischievous types of spirit. They generally seek to frighten the living and by making a nuisance of themselves.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Spirits

Residues = ”Residues are sometimes created when another form of Spirit or Wraith begins to fade away, the will that maintained their Undead state incapable of sustaining them any longer. Others are formed when a particularly malicious or miserable person dies who lacks any particular reason to remain in the land of the living. They appear to be vaguely humanoid clouds of dark smoke, though they are usually invisible to mortal eyes. They are little more than a bundle of negative emotions, possessing an almost instinctual desire to spread hatred and rage to others.”
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Residue

Sacrificed = ”Sacrificed are the spirits bound against their will to protect a location against all intruders. The Sacrificed attack anyone who approaches them, including whoever bound them there. For this reason they are usually found in remote locations, guarding the tombs of powerful servants of Chaos.”
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Sacrificed

Skyghoul = A wraith-like creature that rides Carrion.
    http://www.solegends.com/citc/c034carrion/index.htm

Spectral Huntsmen = A unit listed in Citadel Journal Issue 15, page 15, as such they may not be 100% loreful but since the magazine was published by Games Workshop it can be taken as if they are. They are spectral cavalry armed with spears and shields. Spectral Hounds accompany them.
    https://www.scribd.com/doc/221544459/Citadel-Journal-15 Page 15

Spectres = The most frightening types of ghost. They are angry beings, full of malice for the living and despair at their own state.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Spirits

Spirit Hosts = They are a collection of spectres of the dead. Rituals required to bind them into organised hosts are secret and only known to a few Vampires and Necromancers. Those knowing the rituals are certain to use them, for they are ethereal creatures and all earthly weapons go through them.
    http://whfb.lexicanum.com/wiki/Spirit_Host

Tomb Banshees = The malevolent spirits of evil sorceresses and wizardesses that have clung onto their spirits long after their death through fear of crossing the void to face whatever punishment awaits them. The Vampire Counts have no trouble binding these to their cause. Their grief-stricken wails can be lethal to mortals.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Tomb_Banshee

Voidghast = A wraith-like creature that rides Carrion.
    http://www.solegends.com/citc/c034carrion/index.htm

Wraithrider Lord = A wraith-like creature that rides Carrion.
    http://www.solegends.com/citc/c034carrion/index.htm

Wraithwisps = Powerful necromancers often return as a Wraith, apprentices often need to be dragged back into unlife. These are those apprentices, half-mad shades, ethereal figures wrapped in cloak. They hate anything living.

    Monstrosities
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Fenbeast = Fenbeasts are large sorcerous constructs assembled from material gathered from marshes and swamps where many have died in battle. They are unnatural creatures that reek of stagnant marshes and have the touch of the grave about them. The presence of a Fenbeast often indicates the presence of a necromancer or other kind of spell caster, often one with grim intentions. Fenbeasts, being all but devoid of will, are not imaginative opponents, but this can change with a skilled handler.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Fenbeast

Fleet Carrion = Carrion are huge winged beasts from the chaos wastes, called forth from their hunting grounds by the intense magic that surrounds an undead fleet. On their back sits a small wraith-like figure, which feeds off the escaping life force of the dying.
    https://www.scribd.com/document/2230...del-Journal-06

Mourngul = Dreadful tales are told around huddled fires of those lost in the killing cold of a mountain winter, driven by famine and pain to hunt their own companions and former friends for their meat and the warmth of their blood. There is no salvation for these damned souls, for the horrors in which they indulge cannot save them and they become things neither dead nor alive, condemned to an eternity of empty hunger and terrible isolation.
    https://www.forgeworld.co.uk/en-GB/Mourngul

Van Hal's Twin-headed Winged Serpent = ”"Some mounts are stranger still, such as the twin-headed winged serpant that is said to have carried Frederick Van Hal into battle against the Skaven. The chronicles of the Grand Theogonists record that at the Siege of Altdorf by Vlad von Carstein, Vampires took to the skies on zombified Wyverns and Griffons."”

Zombie Dragon = "This is a corrupted and decayed version of the mighty beasts of the sky. Its skin is torn, its flesh leprous and its wings nothing but scrawny tatters held onto exposed bone and sinew." - Zombie Dragon lacking a rider. Though not in the rulebook, White Dwarf issue 234 has a massive Bretonnian themed Vampire Counts army from the Games Workshop exhibition centre that has a riderless zombie dragon in its forces.

    Undead Sea Beasts
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
All of these listed would be undead versions of them. It is mentioned sometimes that the undead can summon these dead monsters from the depths of the ocean.

Behemoth = The Behemoth is an immense narwhal-like creature, with a single, huge horn jutting from its blunt snout. Unlike a whale, its mouth is lined with vicious, sword-like teeth, each over six feet in length.
    http://www.collecting-citadel-miniat...e_Deep_Box.jpg
    http://jake.ryft.org/warhammer/mowstuff/SOBRulebook.pdf

Black Leviathan = The Black Leviathan is a huge, carnivorous deep-sea fish, with a cavernous mouth full of barbed fangs. It approaches its target swimming low in the water, with little of its vast bulk showing. As it gets close, it rises up from the waves, its mouth agape, and gulps its victim down whole.
    http://www.collecting-citadel-miniat...e_Deep_Box.jpg
    http://jake.ryft.org/warhammer/mowstuff/SOBRulebook.pdf

Gargantuan = The gargantuan’s favourite method of attack is to approach its prey from below and wrap its sinuous coils around it. The monster then goes on to crush the life from its hapless victim, while delivering massive electric shocks to it.
    http://www.collecting-citadel-miniat...he_Sea_Box.jpg
    http://jake.ryft.org/warhammer/mowstuff/SOBRulebook.pdf

Kraken = The Kraken is a giant squid-like creature with hundreds of tentacles that end in cruel suckers and vicious barbs. It grabs its prey with these appendages and propels them into its evilly beaked mouth. There are many tales of Kraken emptying ships of crew and leaving them ravaged and drifting with no sails or masts.
    http://www.collecting-citadel-miniat...he_Sea_Box.jpg
    http://jake.ryft.org/warhammer/mowstuff/SOBRulebook.pdf

Megaladon = The Megaladon is a little known species of shark, four or five times as large as its nearest relative. In common with other sharks, it is an effecient and ruthless predator.
    http://www.collecting-citadel-miniat...he_Sea_Box.jpg
    http://jake.ryft.org/warhammer/mowstuff/SOBRulebook.pdf

Promethean = The Promethean is a large, crab-like creature that is believed to live on the ocean floor, only coming to the surface to feed. Its tough carapace gives it protection from most attacks, while its tremendously powerful pincers can rip apart masters, sails and superstructure.
    http://www.collecting-citadel-miniat...he_Sea_Box.jpg
    http://jake.ryft.org/warhammer/mowstuff/SOBRulebook.pdf

Sea Dragon = As the name suggests, it’s a close relative of the dragons of Ulthuan. Legend has it that in the sundering wars between Elves, a dark elf dragon was struck from the sky by a mightly high elf champion. The dragon fell into the sea, where the dark, cooling waters bathed his wounds and provided refuge from battle. It’s said that the sea dragons are descended from that beast.

    The Living
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
It is not unknown for the living to seek out Vampires to serve them, but in truth many live under the dominion of their undead lords in the lands of Sylvania and Mousillon. Whether they want to serve them is another matter.

Arboreonecromancer = "Arboreonecromancy is a little-practiced branch of wizardry -- any mystic wizard crazed enough to attempt it normally transfers his attentions back to raising zombies and skeletons, rather than undead trees. However, legends tell of the Archmage Sycamo, 'The Daemon Carpenter of Estalia', who not only perfected a method of reanimating trees from their residual elements, but also filling them with astounding vigour."
    https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...WhndVE0VklZZDA

Bat Swarm = I know that there are already bats, but those are fell bats and in the tabletop they were larger and stronger than the Bat Swarms. These would likely be cheap, a bit useless but exceptionally numerous. It’s my belief that they combined the Bat Swarm and the Fell Bats from the tabletop into one unit, so I’d recommend if you were to add the Bat Swarm, change the Fell Bats to be more powerful, larger and have smaller unit size, to make the two more noticeably different.
    http://whfb.lexicanum.com/wiki/Bat_Swarm

Draescan Tribesmen = Men who follow their cursed High King to battle. If this unit is added it should be obvious that the Kings of Draesca unit should too, to match them together nicely. Perhaps have this unit led by an officer using the model of those Kings, should they be made.
    http://whfb.lexicanum.com/wiki/The_Helm_of_The_Draesca

Ghouls (Armoured) = ”Felix looked down. Ghouls padded through the jungle below, in ones and twos. Some wore primitive armour, but all carried weapons. Their worm-pale flesh was daubed in ash and war paint, and they barked and growled softly to one another as they moved.”
https://www.scribd.com/document/3230...Josh-Reynolds# Gotrek & Felix: The Serpent Queen
    https://i.imgur.com/5ajjPFg.jpg 3rd Ed. Armies Book

Master Arboreonecromancer = "Arboreonecromancy is a little-practiced branch of wizardry -- any mystic wizard crazed enough to attempt it normally transfers his attentions back to raising zombies and skeletons, rather than undead trees.

Mutant Sylvanians = In addition to disease, mutation is relatively common amongst the peasant populace. The thin soil has been riddled with Warpstone since the Warpstone meterorite falls, giving Sylvania one of the highest rates of mutation within the entire Empire. The most deformed Mutants are cast out into the woods or sent to Drakenhof. Information found in the Inhabitants section.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Sylvania

Necromancer Aspirant = Mystery shrouds the study of necromancy. To learn the dark art, an aspirant must find either a Necromancer or Vampire and become his apprentice, or acquire a forbidden book rich in the secrets of undeath, such as one of the fabled Nine Books of Nagasb. It is this intrinsic mystery that drives Necromancers to become servants of the Vampire Counts, hoping to learn firsthand from the masters of undeath.

Dread Chariot = Not entirely sure what to call this, but it certainly is interesting. A very large chariot pulled by an undead dragon ogre carrying a shield and axe, and I believe its a necromancer or a wight king driving it.

Flayed Siege Towers = "The towers had been frightening enough seen at a distance, when he watched them being constructed at the edge of the woods. Now, lurching out of the night and crawling with nightmare crews, they were enough to make him want to turn and run. Up close, he saw they had been covered with the shaggy skins of beastmen, stretched across a twisted framework of dead trees, the hides crudely stitched together and the empty bags of head skin flapping and ballooning in the wind sot hat it looked like the eye and mouth holes were blinking and trying to say something."

    Navy
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Deathship = Deathships are small vessels that form the bulk of any Undead fleet.
    https://www.scribd.com/document/2230...del-Journal-06

Floating Necropolis = This is a huge vessel, more akin to a fortification than a ship. It is similar to the Black Arks of the Dark Elves, and has considerable armour and weapons.
    https://www.scribd.com/document/2230...del-Journal-06

Ghostship = Their huge bone structures shimmering with the magical energy which sustains them. They glide soundlessly through their waves, their rows of Screaming Skull Catapults pointing menacingly over the bulwarks.
    https://www.scribd.com/document/2230...del-Journal-06

Skullrammer = This is a highly specialised vessel, on its prow is mounted a wicked, barbed blade that smashes through opposing ships’ hulls with unearthly ease. When it strikes bolts of magical lightning arc out over the opposing vessel, causing even more damage and starting fires.
    https://www.scribd.com/document/2230...del-Journal-06

    Siege Train
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
"The only realistic solution to breaking massive fortifications is to employ a formidable siege train which includes siege engines of gigantic proportions capable of smashing down the strongest walls, gates and towers quickly. These machines are so huge that they cannot easily be constructed in the field. Instead, they must be manufactured in advance, often in pre-fabricated sections which can be transported in wagons, on ships, or stored until needed in fortresses."
    https://i.imgur.com/SZ5PSHZ.png White Dwarf 155

The Giant Battering Ram = "The giant battering ram is cut from the tallest and strongest tree in the realm and shod with a massive iron or bronze head. Hundreds of men are needed to pull the ropes that swing the ram to strike a gate or fortress wall. One blow will smash great oak doors like matchwood or crumbles masonry into powder, collapsing towers and walls like sand castles. The hides of a thousand beasts form its canopy, protecting the operators from the arrows of the defenders."
    https://i.imgur.com/SZ5PSHZ.png White Dwarf 155

The Monstrous Stone Thrower = "This is a catapult operated by a massive counterweight which swings a long shaft and hurls a boulder a very great distance. The huge boulder will smash any ramparts that it strikes. The catapult is made of thick timbers to withstand the stress and strain, but the parts can be transported individually on wagons and are lashed togehter into a catapult in the siege lines."
    https://i.imgur.com/SZ5PSHZ.png White Dwarf 155

The Siege Tower = "Hundreds of wagons are required to carry the pre-fabricated timbers that make up the siege tower, and when these are put together the siege tower will be raised higher than any known wall. Bolt throwers shoot out of port holes on each of its many levels. A drawbridge or spiked corvus is ready on the top of the tower to be dropped on the enemy battlements allowing attackers to swarm across, constantly reinforced by a steam stream of soldiers."

    Mousillon
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Here are a list of units that would work for Mousillon to expand their roster, they all come from the list above but any added to this faction should have a Bretonnian twist to their model.

Black Grail Knights = Mousilion-Only Unit. The Black Grail Knights were the resurrected corpses of long dead Grail Knights of Bretonnia and are among the mightiest skeletal warriors to have ever walked the Old World.
    http://whfb.lexicanum.com/wiki/Black_Grail_Knight

Dismounted Black Grail Knights = Mousilion-Only Unit. The Black Grail Knights were ressurected corpses of long dead Grail Knights of Bretonnia, and are among the mightiest skeletal warriors to have ever walked the Old World.
    http://whfb.lexicanum.com/wiki/Black_Grail_Knight

Grey Men = ”A Grey Man is a shambling, hulking creature one and a half times the size of a man and of roughly humanoid shape. Its body seems made of compacted ooze and swamp debris, and its face is mostly featureless except for its small, glinting eyes, which alone suggest some intelligence in the creatures. Its oozing paws conceal claws of splintered bone and its upper body can open up to reveal a gory black maw filled with spinelike teeth.”
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Grey_Men

Mutants of Mousillon = The people of Mousillon are generally human, though you would not always know it to look at them. Most peasants are horribly deformed and suffer constantly from foul diseases. The residents of Mousillon are there because they cannot leave: many deformities that are normal in the dukedom would get someone burned as a mutant anywhere else.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Mousillon

Prophetesses of the Blood = Vampire spell casters riding undead horses, a kind of corrupt for of the Prophetesses of the Lady unit I mentioned in the Bretonnian thread. Likely they are of the Lahmia vampire bloodline.

Red Grail Prophetesses = Vampire spellcasters riding undead pegassi, a kind of corrupt form of the Grail Prophetesses I mentioned in the Bretonnian thread. Likely they are Lahmian Vampires.

Undead Beastmen of Bastonne = Mentioned briefly.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Bastonne

Wailing Hags = Mousilion-Only Unit. Same as Tomb Banshees and replaces them on their list. Bretonnians know the Tomb Banshees as Wailing Hags.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Tomb_Banshee

    Knights of the Bloody Grail
    Skeletal Archers
    Skeletal Reapers
    Knockers
    Grave Guard (spear version)
    Tomb Guardians
    Carrion Birds
    Bone Giants
    Ghosts
    Poltergeists
    Spectres
    Spirit Hosts
    Banshees
    Spectral Huntsmen
    Patchwork Men
    Doom Wolves
    Corpse Carts
    Bat Swarms
    Necromancer Aspirants

I don’t know which Vampire units would be most appropriate from the bloodlines at the top.

    Army of the Cairns
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
This is an army from a White Dwarf magazine for the Battle of the Cairns, featuring Heinrich Kemmler. As he is in Total War: Warhammer, I thought these should be added to the list of available units. Here goes:

Barrow Guardians = The Barrow King’s greatest warriors often died shortly after their lord, willingly casting off the shackles of their life to guard him in the next. Their bronze and flint weapons, though tarnished and worn, are still deadly tools that remain more than capable of inflicting death upon the living. From the Army of the Cairns army list, White Dwarf 311. Hand weapon, shield and heavy armour. Other variants replace hand weapons and shields for great weapons.
    http://sgabetto.free.fr/Telechargeme...VOComplete.pdf

Barrow King = Each barrow complex was built to house a single great king and his entourage. The greatest of the old kings were buried with servants to attend them in the next world and warriors to guard them. Most moulder through the centuries, surrounded by burial gifts of their people and ossified remains of their followers, but some are not so fortunate. Many Necromancers covet the service of a Barrow King’s entourage and seek out their burial sites with the aim of raising the fallen ruler - and his legion - into their service. They are in chariots, and this is from the Army of the Cairns army list, White Dwarf 311.
    http://sgabetto.free.fr/Telechargeme...VOComplete.pdf

Dread Guardians = The Barrow King’s greatest warriors often died shortly after their lord, willingly casting off the shackles of their life to guard him in the next. Their bronze and flint weapons, though tarnished and worn, are still deadly tools that remain more than capable of inflicting death upon the living. From the Army of the Cairns army list, White Dwarf 311. Hand weapon, shield and heavy armour. Likely stronger unit that Barrow Guardians. Other variants include great weapons.
    http://sgabetto.free.fr/Telechargeme...VOComplete.pdf

Embalmed Ones = Whilst the slaves of the old kings were burnt alive atop great pyres, so their essence would continue to serve in the shadow land of the dead, those bondsmen who served the ancient kings willingly were subjected to a form of mummification. Though the techniques used in their preservation are primitive in comparison to those used on the rulers of Nehekhara, the corpses have endured the centuries in a remarkably intact - though combustible - state. From the Army of the Cairns army list, White Dwarf 311.
    http://sgabetto.free.fr/Telechargeme...VOComplete.pdf

Ghost = Some servants were sacrificed to defend or attend to the king in his next life, but others were chosen to protect his earthly remains from grave robbers and other ne’er-do-wells. Such beings drift between this world and the next, insubstantial creatures that cannot interact with the mortal world, bound forever to guard their master’s corpse. Though they lack physical form they are deadly nonetheless, for their very presence burns the living with a blistering cold. From the Army of the Cairns army list, White Dwarf 311.
    http://sgabetto.free.fr/Telechargeme...VOComplete.pdf

Glooms = The spirits of those who were enslaved to the dead kings still lurk about the site of their long-vanished pyres. Though weak, their sheer number and undying resentment of the living makes them a dangerous foe. Unlike many of the Barrow King’s servants, however, their rage at their fate grants them a measure of free will, making them a challenge for any necromancer who would seek to bind them. From the Army of the Cairns army list, White Dwarf 311.
    http://sgabetto.free.fr/Telechargeme...VOComplete.pdf

Simulacra = Sculpted in the images of the almost countless deities of death and the dead that prowl the warrior grounds of the otherworld, it is said that these statues stalk the lands on nights of new and full moons. Several of these edifices stand atop the site of each ancient barrow, bound and commanded by enchantment to watch over the earthly remains within, awakening only to confront those who would disturb the tomb. Fortunately for Kemmler, it takes but a little necromantic artifice to bind them to a new master. From the Army of the Cairns army list, White Dwarf 311.
    http://sgabetto.free.fr/Telechargeme...VOComplete.pdf

Shadow Druid = Kings have ever been surrounded by advisors, courtiers and wizards, and those entombed within the barrows are no exception. In life, these druids counselled their masters on the whims of the many gods, and of the future mapped in the stars. They were also the architects of the barrow complexes, and performed the rituals that accompanied a king into the next life. Unlike a king’s other servants, the druids would not pass into death alongside their master, but would instead serve new rulers until the spark of their life was almost spent. As death stirred to claim him, a druid would imbibe of a magical poison that, though causing a terrible and agonising death, would allow their spirits to endure and watch over the barrows for eternity. From the Army of the Cairns army list, White Dwarf 311.
    http://sgabetto.free.fr/Telechargeme...VOComplete.pdf

Skeleton Warriors = It was tradition that when one of the old people’s kings was buried, they would be escorted into eternity by loyal vassals. Men from all walks of life were entombed alongside their rulers in this way, from unwilling slaves to the most dedicated and experienced of the king’s royal guard. Most common, however, are those warriors who made up the bulk of the old king’s war bands - now animated to ghastly unlike as Skeleton Warriors. The lesser kings would perhaps only have one such unit of warriors, whilst the greatest would have legions beyond number. From the Army of the Cairns army list, White Dwarf 311. Hand Weapon and Shield. Other weapons that can be used; spears, javelins, spears & shields, great weapons.
    http://sgabetto.free.fr/Telechargeme...VOComplete.pdf

Tomb Stalker = Many forms of defence exist within the barrows of Athel Loren, yet the most deadly of all are the ancient constructs that stalk within the confines of the tombs, tireless abominations that exist only to slay the living. These horrifying beasts come in many forms and are forged from diverse materials, depending upon the whims of the priests that commissioned them, yet all are fashioned to prey upon the primal fears of mortal creatures. From the Army of the Cairns army list, White Dwarf 311.
    http://sgabetto.free.fr/Telechargeme...VOComplete.pdf

Unquiet Horsemen = In the ancient kingdoms of the Old World, and in marked contrast to the Nehekharan kingdoms further south, horsemen were comparatively rare. Most kings saw little point in maintaining battle-trained beasts, for such creatures caused additional complications in the support of an army and so only the wealthiest warriors chose to fight from horseback. As a result, only a few score of Skeletal Cavalry are available to Kemmler at the Battle of the Cairns, carrying long spears for their new master. From the Army of the Cairns army list, White Dwarf 311.
    http://sgabetto.free.fr/Telechargeme...VOComplete.pdf

Winged Nightmare = These horrifying creatures are an unholy fusion of the reanimated corpses of great monsters such as manticores and griffons. Only the most powerful of all Necromancers attempt to forge such a beast, for the magics involved are capricious and wilful at best and, at worst, can leave the caster a twisted and (more) insane wreck. His foothold within Athel Loren secure, Kemmler summoned several of these horrifying beasts to him, confident that their might would help him prevail. From the Army of the Cairns army list, White Dwarf 311.

I don't know if this thread is more for just you two but what I would quite like to see is an instanced (or even campaign) of Vorag Bloodytooth http://warhammeronline.wikia.com/wiki/Vorag_Bloodytooth as a horde vampire army
his army would be based around Ghouls and cript horrors but perhaps they would need some new tougher ghoul infantry (I know this is not in the lore) to make it viable.
Also seeing as his campaign took him into the Badlands he might come across Dust Goblins from Warhammer Chronicles 2003 (pg 45)
In the deserts of Khemri, ancient Liche Priests raise mighty armies of Undead warriors for their mummified masters known as the Tomb Kings. In these cursed domains the dead do not rest easy and those that dare venture to the Land of the Dead are doomed to a life of Undeath. Occasionally, a teeming horde of Greenskins from the Badlands or the World's Edge Mountains make their way into this realm of death intent on slaughtering, plundering and conquering. None have ever succeeded, nor ever returned from the Land of the Dead... at least alive!Once the armies of the Tomb Kings destroy the green-skinned interlopers, the Liche Priest summons the rotting Goblinoid carcasses back from the grave, adding them to their lord's horrific legions. However, some of these Undead Goblins somehow find their way back to their homelands.Unlike Humans, Elves and Dwarfs, an Undead Goblin corpse retains a small pan of its mischievous and unpleasant qualities from its previous malevolent life. These Undead Goblins, known as Dust Goblins, still bicker and taunt one another like spiteful children.

    Hey, thanks for responding!

The idea of these threads are to provide all possible new units from the lore and tabletop, so that modders can create loreful units rather than just making up any old crap they like. There is enough out there to pick from to make some truly exciting new units.

When it comes to your suggestion, I've got some Strigoi stuff which should match some of what you like from Vorag Bloodytooth, and the Dust Goblins are found in the Orc army list as the White Dwarf article I read made it clear that they still work with them. You've mentioned tomb kings, I'll eventually write up a list for these but that'll be when it appears that the faction will be added to the game. Just like with Wood Elves which I am writing right now.

    Special and Named Characters

Here is contained a full list of every possible Legendary Lord or Legendary Hero that I could find for Vampire Counts. I have split them into different categories and whether they suit being Lords or Heroes, so it is easier to know which they are best suited to being added to, if someone wished to add them to the game. Also, there are a fair number that I couldn't place into one territory or other, so I guess they'd be free to put wherever someone wanted. Without further ado, here we go.

Duke Merovech of Mousillion = Duke Merovech of Mousillon was a skilled warrior and a strong ruler but his desperation to restore his homelands glory, would lead him to become a powerful Vampire Blood Knight, feared throughout Bretonnia for his bloodlust.
    http://whfb.lexicanum.com/wiki/Merovech

Lasker Noircoeur, the ‘Blackheart’ = A necromancer lord armed with a Biting Blade, the Skull Staff and rides a skeletal steed.
    https://i.imgur.com/WHM1D2u.png White Dwarf Issue 198

Mallobaude, The Black Knight = There he beheld a clear lake surrounded in mists, and watched as a hand reached up from the water holding aloft the Grail. But when he took up the Grail and sipped its contents, he had a stunning revelation. Mallobaude did not become a Grail Knight, instead he saw through the veil of magic and discovered a terrible truth behind the Lady of the Lake. With this shocking realisation Mallobaude became outraged at the lie that had shaped his entire life. He resolved to claim the throne for himself and free Bretonnia from the Lady's falsehoods forever.
    http://whfb.lexicanum.com/wiki/Mallobaude

The Red Duke = He gave the Blood Kiss to the poisoned and dying duke before having him returned to his camp where his followers discovered the 'mysterious illness'. After three nights of the Duke on his supposed death-bed the Bretonnian baron who had orchestrated the assassination attempt sneaked into the Duke's room to finish the job. Instead he was most brutally and viciously murdered by the newly risen vampire.

    https://www.scribd.com/doc/315259635...s-Dark-Masters

Vassili Schlossman = "Vassili can claim to be a descendent from the direct bloodline of the vampiric aristocrats who aided Vlad in securing his position of Drakenhof when he first arrived there from the north. Held in the highest esteem by the other Counts for his ancestry, Vassili has blemished his reputation by flirting with the aristocracy of the Empire and preying excessively upon young, beautiful women. During the Witch Hunter purges of Sylvania, Vassili slipped away, travelling speedily in his black carriage to Moussillon where he was able to conceal himself from watchful eyes. A plentiful supply of corpses were available thanks to the Red Pox and he will soon reveal himself to the Bretonnian rulers and no doubt launch another vampiric invasion of the Old World.”
    https://www.scribd.com/document/2231...del-Journal-19 Page 32

    Heroes
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Aucassin = A tall, slim, slightly cruel-faced man, Aucassin’s charm and skills as a host mask all but the slightest indications that he is a monstrously soulless predator.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Aucassin

Aurore = Grail Damsels are prone to being eaten by marauding monsters, and with few knights in Mousillon noble enough to rescue them, Grail Damsels have been in short supply for a long time. Aurore, the head of the “priesthood” at the chapel in the Barony, might call herself a Grail Damsel, but she is most certainly not the real thing.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Asceline

Eustache of the Rusting Blade = Eustache of the Rusting Blade is one of the most skilled swordsmen in Mousillon, and it is said he is second only to Mallobaude himself in the skills of the battlefield. He was also probably the first knight to join Mallobaude.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wi..._Rusting_Blade

Jaques de Brielles, Wight Lord of Mousillon = He drank from the false grail and is still imbued with its powers. He carries the Rusted Lance.
    https://www.scribd.com/document/2231...del-Journal-24 Page 14

Madame Kalfon = Taking the name “Madame Kalfon” to make her seem more grown-up, the diminutive Necrarch took over Chigaru’s tower and made its wondrous toys her own. Over the years, she has mastered the techniques of creating new life with a childlike glee, pulling beings apart and putting them back together in unusual combinations as she would with any doll. Chigaru’s tower is now full of the precocious girl’s playthings and friends.

    https://www.scribd.com/doc/315259635...s-Dark-Masters

Malory de Mousillon, Bastard of Duke Maldred = ”Malory de Mousillon, the illegitimate daughter of Duke Maldred, only recently became aware of her noble parentage. Raised by her mother, a beautiful but common woman, Malory was spoiled with lavish gifts every time the mysterious "Man in Black" came calling. It was he that paid for her schooling and arranged for her tutelage in the Black Arts and well as her private training in all of the martial skills of a Knight. She was Maldred's champion and it was up to her to put an end to anyone who tried to stop her father from taking the throne of Bretonnia for himself. She particularly enjoyed the look on a fallen Knight's face when she took off her helm and revealed herself. She liked to be the last thing they ever saw.”

Mordac the Decayed = A wight king in service of Lasker Noircoeur. Wields a Wight Blade.

Nicolete of Oisement = Her role is to provide magical support to Mallobaude, and Nicolete is currently seeking the knowledge that will let her command an army of the dead that will fight alongside Mallobaude’s knights when the time comes to march on the city.

W’soran, First of the Necrarch = W’soran studied many of his master's scriptures, and with the help of his acolytes transcribed his notes in the Grimorium Necronium, which not only included a distillated version of Nagash's magic, but also a series of prophecies that showed W'soran a vision of the future -- a world covered in bones, populated only by the dead and ruled by his vampiric clan. Doppelgangers = Doppelgangers take on the forms of others, then kill and eat those whose appearance they have stolen, replacing them completely. The brain is said to be their favourite morsel. Doppelgangers infiltrate positions they can use to further their dark and inscrutable agendas, and prefer to take the forms of the highest members of society.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Doppelganger

Dragon Ogres = Aeons ago, the elders of their race made a pact with the Ruinous Powers, embracing damnation in order to save themselves from a slow decline into extinction. They were given eternal life, and in return, the entire Dragon Ogre race put themselves at the command of the Dark Gods. According to Monstrous Arcanum it has 'kinship' with the Beastmen.
    Warhammer Supplement: Monstrous Arcanum
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Dragon_Ogres

Dragon Ogre Shaggoths = Dragon Ogre Shaggoths are living legends of carnage and devastation. As a Dragon Ogre ages, it becomes ever larger, growing stronger and more powerful. As long as it can find lightning to refresh its body and revitalise its mind, there is no limit to the size one can reach. According to Monstrous Arcanum it has 'kinship' with the Beastmen.
    Warhammer Supplement: Monstrous Arcanum
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wi..._Ogre_Shaggoth

Dread Maw = With their circular mouths, studded with rows of sickle-shaped teeth, Dread Maws can seize and devour a fully armoured man in seconds. Often, smaller prey is swallowed whole, but even the largest creatures will fall foul of the Dread Maw's ravenous appetite. Bursting forth from beneath the ground and latching on with their hooked teeth, they can tear their way inside the greatest of beasts, eviscerating them from within and quickly hollowing out their ruptured carcass.
    https://www.forgeworld.co.uk/en-IE/Dread-Maw

Dread Saurian = Dread Saurian Of all the reptillian nightmares that inhabit the jungle-shrouded continent of Lustria, Dread Saurians are one of the most feared; an echo of ancient days when huge beasts such as they did battle with the forefathers of dragons for supremacy. Immense creatures, larger than the towering Carnosaur, Dread Saurians are few in number and sacred to the Lizardmen, and the fury of each that prowls the fetid jungles is moderated only by the arcane power of the ceremonial armour that bedecks them.
    https://www.forgeworld.co.uk/en-GB/Dread-Saurian

Fenbeast = Fenbeasts are large sorcerous constructs assembled from material gathered from marshes and swamps where many have died in battle. They are unnatural creatures that reek of stagnant marshes and have the touch of the grave about them. The presence of a Fenbeast often indicates the presence of a necromancer or other kind of spell caster, often one with grim intentions. Fenbeasts, being all but devoid of will, are not imaginative opponents, but this can change with a skilled handler.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Fenbeast

Fire Efreets = Those vessels that contain powdered sulphur and dried naptha may be ignited with a spark to release a gigantic Fire Efreet. A Fire Efreet is a creature of savage delight that cackles as it hurtles through the air; searing the decks of enemy ships and setting aflame their crew as it shouts curses that sound for all the world like the spit-crack of raw fresh melting on open fire. The blood of one of these spirits was used to temper the blade of the Hellfire Sword, which was forged from a single flame that was hammered into material form.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Djinn

Focus Familiars = An impish familiar accompanying the Sorceress, through which she can direct her powers. This allows her to target enemies further away and out of sight.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Focus_Familiar

Forest Dragon = Despite their monstrous appearance, Forest Dragons are actually highly intelligent, and maintain a keen interest in events that occur far beyond the boundaries of Athel Loren. They are particularly voracious for tidings that relate to their long months of slumber. In part, this hunger is fed by the Elves who petition them for aid, but the Dragons do not necessarily consider the Elves to be wholly unbiased observers and often seek out others to provide counterpoint.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Forest_Dragon

Young Forest Dragon = Younger, less powerful forest dragons.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Forest_Dragon

Great Forest Dragon = Greater, and larger forest dragons.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Forest_Dragon

Emperor Forest Dragon = The greatest, most powerful Forest Dragons that are capable of casting spells.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Forest_Dragon

Frostfiend = But they are very real. Luckily, they make their home in the snows of the far north—and some scholars believe they are a part of those snows, as the Treemen of Athel Loren are with their forest. Due to their white fur, these bat-winged monstrosities are invisible amongst the blizzards in which they fly. Thankfully, they tend to shriek with bloodlust when their heat-sensitive eyes detect their next meal.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Frostfiend

Ghorgon = Ghorgons are huge, four-armed, ox-headed variant of the Minotaur race that have evolved into their current state from the extreme overconsumption of tainted flesh, which triggered rapid growth and extreme amounts of physical mutation.
    http://whfb.lexicanum.com/wiki/Ghorgon
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Ghorgon

Giant = Once a Giant has cleaned up all the available food within a region, Giants would move on to find more fertile and unspoiled lands, often leaving behind the bones and husk of many ruined villages in his wake.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Giant

Giant Spiders = The same ones the forest goblins ride.

Griffon = For anyone to have the slightest hope of mastering a Griffon, the beast must be captured and trained while young, forcing a bond that only death can shatter.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Griffons

Harpies = Harpies are vicious and spiteful, displaying only the meaning glimmerings of intelligence and, even then, only malicious, purpose. Innately cowardly creatures, Harpies band together in great sky-borne flocks, which roam high above the mountainsides and valleys in search of prey defenceless enough to risk attacking.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Harpies

Hippogryph = The Hippogryph species inhabit the upper reaches of the Grey Mountains, occasionally prowling the green lands below for prey such as sheep and cattle, although they have also been known to hunt Humans, Greenskins or just about any creature than cannot quickly hide from its vision.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Hippogryph

Hydra = The Hydra is a titanic beast of the mountains, whose ill-tempered and ravenous nature has proven the doom of many an unsuspecting morsel. Indeed, so ferocious is the Hydra that campaigning armies often make wide detours to avoid intruding on such a beast's bone-strewn lair. Those that march on regardless do so either out of confidence in their battle-prowess or ignorance of the Hydra's savagery.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/War_Hydras

Incarnate Elemental of Death = Those who call forth an Incarnate Elemental of Death risk bringing about their own untimely demise, for to summon such a fearsome creature is to invite death itself unto themselves. Eerily silent save for the whisperings of the grave that follow in its wake, the Incarnate Elemental of Death is a nightmarish apparition
    Warhammer Supplement: Monstrous Arcanum

Jaguars = The Lustrian Jaguar is a large animal, larger than any living big-cat from our world. They cannot be ridden, but if captured young and carefully hand-reared they can be kept as pets, guards or animals of war.
    https://www.scribd.com/document/1170...attle-Bestiary

Khemric Titans = While there are those who scoff at stories of scarabs the size of fortress keeps raising up wrathful sandstorms against all who intrude upon the lands of Khemri, there are those few beyond the Lands of the Dead who know that a terrible truth lies behind them. Known to the loremasters of Tilea and the Empire as Khemric Titans, these arcane constructs of stone and onyx, bejewlled and enamelled with the wealth of a bygone age, tower above even the dreaded Necrosphinx.
    Warhammer Supplement: Monstrous Arcanum

Lammasu = The Lammasu has the body of a gigantic bull, a powerful mace-tipped tail and a massive, ugly head. The Chaos Dwarfs believe that the Lammasu is a rare mutation of the Great Taurus, a creature whose forbears were once Chaos Dwarfs, but which has become twisted by the powers of Chaos into a huge bull-shaped monster.

Land Wyvern = When the Orcs moved into the tunnels, they brought with them a rare breed of Wyverns—one slightly smaller and meaner than others of its kind but without wings. These are generally solitary creatures unless they’ve been tamed by the Orcs, and appear quite similar to normal Wyverns, complete with a poisonous tail. Land Wyverns are famously stupid and one will fling itself into combat without concern for numbers or the threat to its own life.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Land_Wyvern

Lava Trolls = These are mentioned in this wiki page, but also in a list in the one below. The problem is, the second link says that there are rules for these, but I wasn’t able to find it anywhere. If anyone finds them, could they help.

Magma Dragon = Primordial and ferocious creatures, Magma Dragons are known famously for their extremely thick obsidian scales which radiates a constant glow of white-hot heat. What they lack in numbers, they make up with juggernaut strength and the ability to hunt down some of the largest predators to roam the land.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Magma_Dragon

Young Magma Dragon = Young, inexperienced and smaller Magma Dragons.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Magma_Dragon

Great Magma Dragon = Larger, more dangerous Magma Dragons.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Magma_Dragon

Emperor Magma Dragon = Immensely powerful Magma Dragons that are capable of casting spells.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Magma_Dragon

Manticore = Manticores are huge, leonine beasts that soar on leathery wings. They are amongst the most powerful of all the predators that live in the north’s mountain ranges.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Manticore

Merwyrm = The mages of Lothern are able to summon forth and bind the beasts of the deep, imposing their will upon the creatures’ primitive minds. The Merwyrm is a rare example of such a beast that is capable of fighting on land, and this distant relation (some would say ancestor) of the dragons of Caledor is a truly deadly and terrifying foe. This is from the Storm of Chaos Lothern Sea Patrol Army List, so should be limited to that faction.
    https://www.scribd.com/doc/175292173/Wfb-Storm-of-Chaos

Pagowyrm = Other rare sub-breeds are known to exist, such as the Pagowyrm which dwells in the frigid seas of Naggaroth.
    Warhammer Supplement: Monstrous Arcanum

Power Familiars = A Power Familiar is a familiar that attracts magic power to its owner, who cannot be one of the Blood Dragons.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Power_Familiar

Preytons = They are a savage and hateful breed of creature that haunts the forested lands of Bretonnia. So renowned is their ferocity that sighting of Preytons will draw knights from many miles around, seeking to prove their valor by slaying the beasts. Mighty and winged creatures of Chaos, hybrid in form like the Chimera, Preytons bear upon their vaguely equine heads a pair of blackened and serrated antlers which have caused foolhardy knights to mistake them for majestic Great Stags, much to their error.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Preytons
    Warhammer Supplement: Monstrous Arcanum

Preytons (Filth Encrusted Scales) = A Preyton with scaly skin save.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Preytons

Preytons (Forest Stalker) = A Preyton with the Ambush deployment rule.

Preytons (Insane Bloodlust) = A Preyton which is afflicted by Frenzy.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Preytons
    Warhammer Supplement: Monstrous Arcanum

Razorgor Herd = As with all children of Chaos, Razorgor are disfigured by hideous mutations, but they generally have the aspect of a nightmarish, gigantic boar covered in vicious spines, coarse hair and boasting lethally sharp tusks and fangs.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Razorgors

River Trolls = Are Trolls that, as their name suggests, live in shallow waters such as rivers or marshes. They usually pray on fish, yet there have been numerous reports of fishermen gone missing. These Trolls are foul, their rancid smell noticeable from afar. These Trolls are rightly feared for their ability to vomit acid onto their victims.
    https://www.scribd.com/doc/223223608/Citadel-Journal-47
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Troll

Royal Djinn = Only three of these are rumoured to exist, and are kept within jewelled and gilded Great Urns in the hidden rooms under the decks of the Flaming Scimitar of the Golden Magus. Each urn has an intricate spiral of skulls winding around its outside, crested by one of the three symbols that represent the elements ascendant over the forces of darkness. They are said to have once belonged to the Great Necromancer Nagash himself, and that each contains a spirit powerful enough to eclipse the sun. The Golden Magus will not say a single word on the matter. Perhaps even the redoubtable Sultan of the Seas is afraid to open them...
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Djinn

Sabretusk = Although the sabertusk are predators, there have been reports of them being tamed and used by Ogres as hunting dogs, or companions to their masters.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Sabretusk

Sciowyrm = Other rare sub-breeds are known to exist, such as the Sciowyrm found only in the deepest ocean trenches. They are masters of the primordial darkness that surrounds them in the depths.
    Warhammer Supplement: Monstrous Arcanum

Sea-Nymphs = Those magical jars that are filled with sparkling seawater contain the essence of Sea-nymphs - or Salt Devils as they are known to the pirates of Sartosa - who can freeze solid around seabound foes or seal a hole in their master’s warship with living ice. Though they took the form of lissom wenches, the Sea-nymphs are perhaps the most inhuman of all the djinn spirits, and delight in dragging those struggling to tread water so deep into the sea that their fragile human bodies crumple in upon themselves under the pressures of the abyss.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Djinn

Shard Dragon = Shard Dragons are not ‘true dragons’ as such, but the devolved remains of some draconic offshoot that migrated into the dark heart of the world. Untold centuries in lightless umbra have filled them with malign power and distorted their forms, some now venomous enough that they burn the very rock beneath them, while others are able to exhale to vaporous essence of terror to slay their prey. It was the Dwarfs that first returned these creatures to the light of the sun, having learned to bind Shard Dragons with powerful runic collars and turning them upon their foes to rend and tear.

Shard Dragon (Breath of Nightmares) = Untold centuries in lightless umbra have filled them with malign power and distorted their forms, and some now venomous enough that they burn the very rock beneath them, while others are able to exhale to vaporous essence of soul-destroying terror to silently slay their prey.

    https://www.fichier-pdf.fr/2012/11/0...eview/page/70/

Shard Dragon (Gromril Scales) = Coated in blood, these protective plates are as much a weapon as a defence, slicing flesh and puncturing the armour of those foolish enough to confront such creatures in battle.
    Warhammer Supplement: Monstrous Arcanum
    https://www.fichier-pdf.fr/2012/11/0...eview/page/70/

Shard Dragon (Rock Burner) = Untold centuries in lightless umbra have filled them with malign power and distorted their forms, and some now venomous enough that they burn the very rock beneath them, while others are able to exhale to vaporous essence of soul-destroying terror to silently slay their prey.

Sirens = This is the only great city on the western shore of the Tilean Sea, situated on a rugged coastline made up of dozens of small islands. There are strange birdlike creatures called Sirens that live among these islands. It is said they sing such a rapturous song that they lure unwary ships to their doom.

    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Spell_Familiar

Stone Trolls = Are native to mountainous and rocky regions, and occasionally eat rocks and stones. As a result they have acquired stone-like characteristics, like a very tough hide. Another extraordinary characteristic is that they are extremely resistant towards magic.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Troll

Sun Dragons = Few young Dragons are hatched now on Ulthuan. The youngest Dragons are referred to by the Elves as Sun Dragons, in reference to their hot tempers and the rich, warm hue of their scales.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Moon_Dragon

Moon Dragons = Those Dragons that surpass the Sun Dragons in might and enlightenment are known as Moon Dragons.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Moon_Dragon

Star Dragons = The oldest and most powerful of Ulthuan's Dragons are referred to as Star Dragons, for they are truly as ancient as the very stars of the firmament. While any Dragon can savage an entire regiment of warriors, tear a Manticore apart or rip the head off a Wyvern, a Star Dragon is so physically powerful that it can battle against even the Greater Daemons of Chaos and prevail.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Moon_Dragon

Tempest Djinn = The jars that contain a portion of each of the four winds will shatter into dust when the whispered word of their owner falls upon them, releasing Tempest Djinns that funnel their hurricane breath into the sails of ships. These storm-born spirits are capricious as zephyrs in temperament, but their raw might is that of a tornado, and they can pull even the most fearsome winds unto themselves like a shroud.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Djinn

Trolls = Trolls are voracious creatures, mostly motivated by food and eating than anything else, and appropriately, their digestive systems can cope with almost anything, including, as rumored, rock and metal.
    Warhammer Supplement: Monstrous Arcanum
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Troll

Veteran War Hydras ‘The Claws of Khaine’ = If a War Hydra survives and remains with the same Beastmasters for long enough, they can become a truly fierce fighting team. Hydras are intelligent enough to learn from each battle, and a good beast master can refine their abilities with rewards and lashings. For notable battlefield successes, generals may reward their beast masters with minor incantations to augment their Hydra’s already impressive battlefield prowess. Recognisable on the battlefield by the number of adornments and tropics, experienced Hydras are a terrifying and unpredictable foe. Has a random ability; Fetch (The Hydra will nominate a hero/lord and endeavour to bring it’s corpse back to its owner), Escort (Bodyguards a unit), Battle Lover (Impetuous, always charges off to the enemy), Chameleon Skinned (can hide itself), and Bloodthirsty (aggressive).

    https://www.forgeworld.co.uk/en-IE/Warpfire-Dragon

Young Warpfire Dragon = Younger, less powerful versions of the Warpfire Dragon.
    https://www.forgeworld.co.uk/en-IE/Warpfire-Dragon

    https://www.forgeworld.co.uk/en-IE/Warpfire-Dragon

    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Warrior_Familiar

Wolf Rats = Wolf Rats are distinctive creatures, blending the appearance of both Skaven and Wolves. Covered in a thick pelt of grey fur flecked with white, they have shorter legs than their Skaven ancestors, keeping them low to the ground and suggesting that they are always ready to pounce. Their natural gait is to move on four legs, which only makes their ability to clumsily grasp and manipulate objects with their forepaws that much more horrifying.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Wolf_Rats

Wolf Rats (Pox Feeders) = Due to a diet of diseased flesh, these have poison attacks.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Wolf_Rats

    Warhammer Supplement: Monstrous Arcanum

Young Wyvern = A young, less experienced and powerful Wyvern.
    Warhammer Supplement: Monstrous Arcanum

Great Wyvern = An old, highly experienced and deadly Wyvern.
    Warhammer Supplement: Monstrous Arcanum

Yhetees = The Yhetee packs inhabit the highest slopes of many mountain ranges, but are particularly common amongst the Mountains of Mourn and, the place of their birth - the towering peaks of the Ancient Giant Holds. There, high on the roof of the world, the Yhetees survive by preying on the beast herds of the highlands. The pale pelts of the Yhetees make them hard to spot in the snowy landscape, and only when their shaggy hair is overly matted and blood-speckled are they easy to pick out.

    Kinship
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Corpse Giant (Necrofex Colossus) = A gigantic construction of wood, metal, bone, meat, skin, souls, all sorts of evil necromatic stuff. Sometimes a vampire will bind their own soul into it.
    Warhammer Supplement: Monstrous Arcanum

Nightmare Colossus (Necrofex Colossus) = An even bigger version of it.
    Warhammer Supplement: Monstrous Arcanum

Necrofex Colossus = The largest, most dangerous version of the Necrofex Colossus.
    Warhammer Supplement: Monstrous Arcanum

Dracholeech = The creatures are serpentine in form, between twenty and thirty feet long and about four feet across. Their skin is rubbery, slimy, and rotten, and there are no bones within. For mouths, they have circles of teeth, constantly pulsing, that can swallow a child or halfling in one gulp. Their preferred mode of attack is to come up under a boat, tipping any passengers and crew into the water where they can be chewed at leisure. They can also jump onto a small boat, smashing it, but they cannot stay out of the water for long.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Dracoleech

Dragon = There are many different variants of the dragon species.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Dragon

    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Dragon

Great Dragon = These are a lot more experienced and powerful than your standard dragons.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Dragon

Emperor Dragon = Indeed, the only recorded occasions on which Emperor Dragons have seen defeat have been when many thousands of foes have been arrayed against them, or some sorcerous trickery was employed. If few warriors can be counted on to defeat an Emperor Dragon, there are still fewer individuals capable of taming one. Even the famed Dragon Riders of Caledor were never able to tame the oldest and greatest of the Emperor Dragons.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Emperor_Dragon

Fimir Balefiend = Listed in the Monstrous Arcanum lists, an evil sorcerer of some kind.
    Warhammer Supplement: Monstrous Arcanum

Fimir Warriors are armoured with plates of spell-forged bronze fitted to their hunchbacked bodies and wield Baleglyph weapons in combat, either in the shape of great double-handed mauls, or single-handed maces and curving hatchets, held one in each hand. Each Fimir Warrior also has a formidable weapon in its muscular tail which ends in a natural bone club with which it can smash any foes who get in close with bone-breaking force.

Hellsteeds = A Hellsteed's wings are bat-like and broad of span, tipped with talons. Some Hellsteeds have no skin, their exposed tendons and muscles stretching and bunching as they power through the air on powerful pinions. Hellsteeds often have manes and tails of flame, matching the fires that burn in their eye sockets.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Hellsteeds

Mourngul = Dreadful tales are told around huddled fires of those lost in the killing cold of a mountain winter, driven by famine and pain to hunt their own companions and former friends for their meat and the warmth of their blood. There is no salvation for these damned souls, for the horrors in which they indulge cannot save them and they become things neither dead nor alive, condemned to an eternity of empty hunger and terrible isolation.
    https://www.forgeworld.co.uk/en-GB/Mourngul

Wicker Man = Wicker Men typically have monstrous heads and are equipped with long, curved blades attached to their hands. Around their necks hang the talismans that give them life. These talismans are usually a maimed creature or damaged body part—a hand will be missing a finger, a cat missing a paw. The missing part goes into the construction of a marionette used to control the Wicker Man.

Zombie Dragon = Animated by Dark Magic, a Zombie Dragon is borne aloft by great tattered wings, its body covered with thick, withered hide. Though in life it once breathed fire capable of melting steel, a Zombie Dragon can only belch forth a cloud of pestilent gas which strips flesh from bones and corrodes armour.

Great Zombie Dragon = A larger, more powerful dragon that was raised from the dead.

    Mythic Items

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Arabyan Puzzlebox = ”This elegantly crafted container houses many hundreds of glittering gemstones, each with the power to harness the Winds of Magic if used in the correct manner. Alas, the user can never truly be sure that the compartment he has opened will contain the gems he needed.”
    https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...WhndVE0VklZZDA Storm of Magic

Black Book of Ibn Naggazar = ”Ibn Naggazar was a brilliant, if somewhat maniacal, Arabyan sorcerer. Whilst it is unknown whether his madness sprang from isolation, too many attempts at creating intoxicating ‘elixirs’ or the honeyed promises of whispering Daemons, there can be no doubt that he was utterly insane. No rational wizard would create a book inked on the skin of his closest family, much less constantly follow its advice.”
    https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...WhndVE0VklZZDA Storm of Magic

Blade of Last Resort = ”This sword has ever had a twisted sense of humour, seeking out overmatched heroes and aiding them against a chosen foe. However, the Blade of Last Resort draws its strength from a victor’s glorious lifeblood; those that best an opponent with its aid themselves have scant moments to live.”
    https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...WhndVE0VklZZDA Storm of Magic

Dawnstar Sword = ”Legend goes that this blade was forged in the first rays of light to strike the world. The energy of this auspicious enchantment remains embedded deep within the burnished blade, waiting to be called forth once more in a blaze of glory.”
    https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...WhndVE0VklZZDA Storm of Magic

Dodecahedron of Continental Drift = ”Said to have been left behind by the Old Ones, this peculiar object can be used to remake the world. Each alteration to the Dodecahedron’s external matrix is reflected on the land around the user. Its ill-considered use can easily prove catastrophic…”
    https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...WhndVE0VklZZDA Storm of Magic

Fozzrik’s Floating Fortress = ”Though Fozzrik’s magical aptitude led him to become a wizard, he never lost his love for architecture. Many of the Old World’s cities have been built around immaculate structures that Fozzrik created from stone and sorcery, but more prized by far are his floating fortresses - buildings that move under their own power and sprout defences to repel intruders.”
    https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...WhndVE0VklZZDA Storm of Magic

Giantkin Helm = ”After constantly being told ‘We expect big things from you’ by his Elector Count father, Heinrich von Roth spent much of the family fortune commissioning an artefact that would help him achieve greatness. Alas, he was to learn that when dealing with wizards, precision of diction is just as important as largesse of payment.”
    https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...WhndVE0VklZZDA Storm of Magic

Living Deadwood Staff = ”Arboreonecromancy is a little-practiced branch of wizardry - any mystic crazed enough to attempt it normally transfers his attentions back to raising zombies and skeletons, rather than undead trees. However, legends tell of the Archmage Sycamo, ‘The Daemon Carpenter of Estalia’, who not only perfected a method of reanimating trees from their residual elements, but also filling them with astounding vigour. Much of Sycamo’s work has, fortunately, been lost to the intervening aeons, but the Living Deadwood Staff never stays missing for long…”
    https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...WhndVE0VklZZDA Storm of Magic

Paranoth’s Piquet Fence = ”Paranoth was a famous travelling mage, who trod every road ‘twixt Cathay and Naggarond. Naturally, only a particularly foolish wizard would journey such roads without defences, so Paranoth wove himself a sorcerous fence to defend his encampments whilst he and his companions slept.”
    https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...WhndVE0VklZZDA Storm of Magic

Rockcharmer’s Flute = ”Androgast Gildheim was the first man in the Empire to master this granite flute, but its origins lie hidden in the mists of time. Some say that the Rockcharmer’s Flute was used to destroy the old Dwarfen realms, others that it sank the fabled realm of Seidon. However, the most popular tale concerns a drunken Halfling, the Rockcharmer’s Flute, a jug of lamp oil, a plate of sausages and the accidental creation of the Grey Mountains.”
    https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...WhndVE0VklZZDA Storm of Magic

Windcatcher Prism = ”This peculiar bauble was crafted long ago, its purpose very much tied to storms of magic. Once a particular Wind of Magic rises to a certain cataclysmic level, the Windcatcher Prism absorbs and rechannels a portion of its power, bestowing the bearer - and his immediate allies - with an avataric aspect of the ascendant Wind of Magic.”
    https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...WhndVE0VklZZDA Storm of Magic

Woodwaker’s Wand = ”Once upon a time, all the woods in the world were linked. Some say this great forest was alive, in a curious sort of way, and that every tree that now grows retains a portion of its vigour and intelligence just waiting to be revived.”
    https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...WhndVE0VklZZDA Storm of Magic

Wyssan’s Weighted Dice = ”This set of weighted dice is one amongst many forged by Arctovian Wyssan over the course of a long and (unsurprisingly) successful wagering career. At the bearer’s command, these skull-marked cubes play havoc with the laws of causality; turning certainty into bleak misfortune.”

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Batspite = The Batspite is a flying Spite that has had its gossamer wings replaced with more durable bat wings, as well as other cosmetic improvements. Its hands and legs are animal claws, and some of its flesh has been replaced with leathery bat-skin to create a ragged tapestry solid enough to hold together the semi-solid substance Spites are composed of.

Renar’s Raiders = ”In vengeance for their insolence and stubbornness, Renar ordered the entire village burned and all inhabitants to be put to the sword. Only one small boy survived, hiding amongst the bodies, and when it was safe he fled westwards to tell the sad tale to Duke Gilon.”
5th Edition Warhammer Supplement: Circle of Blood - Page 19

Spiderspite = Madame Kalfon’s early experiments with the Spites yielded many failures. One of the earliest successes came from abandoning her attempts to restore the Spites’ ability to fly and instead melding them to the bodies of spiders. She created this miniature horror with the torso of a dead faerie mounted on the body of a furry, black spider. Envenomed mandibles mar its face.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Wights of the Temple of Skulls = ”Wights, clad in crude armour and ragged leopard skins. The wights were armed as they had been in life, with their clawed gauntlets and their war clubs and blocky shields.” They were once part of a leopard cult.
https://www.scribd.com/document/3230...Josh-Reynolds# Gotrek & Felix: The Serpent Queen

    The Silver Pinnacle
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Green Skulls = In life these warriors were the noble followers of Duke Lavaillier of Parravon, but when their noble lord failed to please Neferata she ruined the duke, draining him of life and enslaving his entire guard. Each was tortured and died in agony. Their skulls remained marred by witch-fire, the green flames of which could be seen burning within their empty eye sockets.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Green_Skulls

Guard of the High Mistress = These were fearsome wights bound to service at the Silver Pinnacle. Although they had never set foot in the sand-swept lands of Nehekhara, their bat-winged helms and shields bore the royal gold and turquoise of ancient Lahmia. It was said that many of the valiant princes and courtly knights who doted upon Neferata and her handmaidens filled the ranks of these undead warriors.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wi..._High_Mistress

Lahmian Guard = These were Tomb Guard of ancient Nehekhara. In life they were the royal guard of Neferata and they continued to serve her after death. They bore gold and turquoise livery, and their banner was the crested jackal of the long-lost city of Lahmia – an ancient heirloom of potent magical properties.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Lahmian_Guard

Legion with No Name = On Neferata's orders there were always four standing regiments of skeletal warriors animated and on duty in the lower halls of the Silver Pinnacle. This motley assortment of skeletons was composed of whatever dead bodies were to hand. Their assorted armour and sigils ranged from those of noble knights to sturdy men-at-arms and even northern barbarians. Spellbound, they were led to their doom.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wi...n_with_No_Name

The Wretches = They worshipped the cold allure of the Silver Queen and were drawn to her presence, gnawing on scraps of bone and awaiting her orders. Although well beneath her attention, on occasions in war Neferata stooped to employing these creatures to fill out the ranks of her armies, although she preferred not to look upon them and communicated to them via her handmaidens.

    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Red_Abbey

The Ghosts of Fort Oberstyre = ”The night that the crusaders entered Fort Oberstyre’s walls was long and fraught. A Grand Exorcism is not undertaken lightly, and the ghosts that Mannfred had bound to the fortress shrieked and screamed until the intruders began to doubt their sanity.”

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Bloodbeasts = In their quest for fresh blood, a trio of varghulfs followed Druthor, for where he led, slaughter followed. They were wild, feral things; Druthor had been known to keep them heavily manacled and chained, so that only when the time was right would they be unbound and set forth to unleash their infinite rage against the foe.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Bloodbeasts

Brachanasta, Vargulf of the Nosantra = Those who remained possessed either the raw brute strength to fight their way clear, or more good sense than Mannfred had suspected. Mannfred had marked the latter group upon his arrival, and had resolved never to underestimate them in the future - if any in the Dead and Buried survived to see one. The Nosantra include Karkanoth, a Strigoi Ghoul King; Brachanasta, a Varghulf; and Zaphaniah, Igorin, Bastarno, and Marja, each of which were also Vampires.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Nosantra

Company of the Damned = Undead kislevite mercenaries that war unendingly with the forces of Chaos. Found in White Dwarf issue 173.

Creatures of the Night (Bat Swarms) = The creatures of the night had always answered Mannfred von Carstein's call. From the roosts and steeples of Drakenhof came innumerable bat swarms – loping, bloodthirsty beasts that fluttered like a dark cloud. At their master's bidding they would plummet from the sky, ready to sink their claws and fangs into any foe.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wi...s_of_the_Night

Creatures of the Night (Dire Wolves) = The creatures of the night had always answered Mannfred von Carstein's call. All five packs followed Mannfred's telepathic commands, loping far afield from the main undead host and acting as advance scouts, their baleful baying a signal that they had spotted prey.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wi...s_of_the_Night

Czorgoth's Bone Legion = A solid phalanx of undead soldiers freshly risen from the filth of the grave.

Darkness Daughter = ”Perhaps the widest-known example of a Necrofex Colossus in recent times belonged to the vengeful Infanta Leanora Navrre, now known to fable as ‘Darkness Daughter’ who, after being outcast and hunted by the nobles of Estalia for her terrible crimes, dared to bind herself within a Necrofex Colossus and ravaged her erstwhile domains for more than a century like a daemon from the night.”

Death Raiders = A listed regiment from a very old plastic box set.

    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Graveborn

Deathwalker = ”The ‘Deathwalker’ of Sorn Ghoulskin, who fashioned perhaps the largest Necrofex Colossus from the wreckage of the ‘Iron Fetter,’ a great galleass hulk used as a floating prison, after it sank in a terrible storm he had summoned, and articulated it with the bodies of the drowned.”

Dhrox, the Krundenwald Fiend = Appears to be a named Varghulf from Krundenwald.
    https://i.imgur.com/IIj05UK.png

Doom Riders = Legend tells that they were part of Nagash's army during his final cataclysmic battle with Sigmar, and that after the Great Necromancer's defeat, they rode into the shadows of the Drakwald and haunted the surrounding land for centuries thereafter.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Doom_Riders

Drakenhof Guard = A form of the Grave Guard unit, they have full plate armour and great weapons. From the Storm of Chaos Sylvania Army List. Rarer unit.
    https://www.scribd.com/doc/175292173/Wfb-Storm-of-Chaos

Entrapped Souls = “Such artifacts he wields into battle includes the ancient Chaos Tomb Blade, an evil weapon that not only fills its wielder with unholy energy but also entraps the souls of those it cleaves, binding their fleshless remains in servitude to the Lichmaster.“ A unit based off of this bit of knowledge about Heinrich Kremmler.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Heinrich_Kemmler

Fire Skulls = A listed regiment from a very old plastic box set.
    http://www.solegends.com/citboxes2/skeletonarmy.htm

Gallows Giant of Bogenhafen = ”In the history of the Old World, the creation of Necrofex Colossus has been thankfully rare, but in their terrible wake many dark stories have been spawned, from the terror of the ‘Gallows Giant’ of Bogenhafen to the ‘Deathwalker’ of Sorn Ghoulskin.”
    https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...V96TFBvQ1dNZGc Monstrous Arcanum

    https://i.imgur.com/5cdeO2Q.png White Dwarf 226

Graveclaws = These degenerate ghouls hailed from the bonefields of Grimbarrow, their claws filthy from digging up the shallow graves from whence they harvested dried bones to gnaw upon. They followed in the wake of the Bloodbeasts and worshipped Druthor as a god.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Graveclaws

Grolbech Green Men = They gained their regimental name after emerging out of the Marshes of Madness – for the foul algae there had dyed their undead flesh a truly sickly, if remarkable colour. For a banner they carried a pole topped with the torso and head of the priest of Sigmar who had attempted singlehandedly to turn back the undead host.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wi...bech_Green_Men

Helmut’s Own = Wearing the traditional von Carstein colours of red and black, the regiment bore cursed blades, which glowed a venomous shade beneath the gloom that overshadowed all lands. Tirelessly they marched, in perfect uniformity – eternal warriors ever ready to do their martial duty.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Helmut%27s_Own

Hounds of Sylvania = The creatures of the night had always answered Mannfred von Carstein's call. Included in their number were many packs of dire wolves – the Hounds of Sylvania.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wi...s_of_the_Night

Knights of the Red Death = None were more bloodthirsty or more merciless than the Knights of the Red Death. These vampiric fiends were the butchers behind the Massacre of Modruin and the slaughter of every living soul in the siege of the walled town of Ostwald. The vampire Gorgivich Krakvald rode at the fore of these knights, and their standard was emblazoned with a representation of Krakvald Castle.

Knights Sepulchral = They were the single most powerful regiment of skeletal knights in Mannfred's army. Their proud history of serving von Carsteins dated back to the Vampire Wars with the Empire, and they had reaped terror on countless battlefields since those days. Dark magic flowed strongly about these unearthly knights and an aura of doom and death surrounded them.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wi...hts_Sepulchral

Last Remnants of Tribe Unberogen = Amongst the corpses that languish in the catacombs beneath Altdorf were the bodies of the Unberogen tribe. Led by the Heldenhammer himself in life, these noble barbarians were buried under the sign of Sigmar, not Morr, and were therefore within the reach of the vampire count’s necromantic skills.

Nosantra = Mannfred selected most of his lieutenants on desire that they should, on no account, prove a danger to him. As a result, very few had enough in the way of wits to escape the disastrous battle on Grim Moor. Those who remained possessed either the raw brute strength to fight their way clear, or more good sense than Mannfred had suspected. Mannfred had marked the latter group upon his arrival, and had resolved never to underestimate them in the future - if any in the Dead and Buried survived to see one.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Nosantra

Palace Dead = Strengthened by the energies aswirl on Geheimnisnacht, Vlad was able to overcome even the death god’s dark grip and raise undead nobles from the violated Gardens of Morr that ringed the Imperial Palace. Though their mortal incarnations were of splintered bone and rotting metal, the spirits that inhabited them were vibrant and strong, once-mighty dukes and barons animated by the howling tides of dark magic that raged around their new master.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Palace_Dead

Rackspire Dead = Hundreds perished in Vlad's conquest of the Rackspire fortress, but their war did not end with their lives. Reanimated by the vampire's sorceries and still wearing the rags of their Ostermark uniforms, the benighted garrison shuffled south, ready to fight alongside their former comrades at Heffengen.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Rackspire_Dead

Shambling Dead = Those buried in unconsecrated graves had clawed their way to the surface and stumbled through the jungle that choked their homes, thronging in ever-greater numbers. Undead shopkeeps, yeomen, stevedores, teachers, beggars, grocers, urchins and thugs alike defending in death the city that their living counterparts had all but abandoned.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Shambling_Dead

Skull Blades = A listed regiment from a very old plastic box set.
    http://www.solegends.com/citboxes2/skeletonarmy.htm

Spectres of Corpse Wood = Otto von Dark, angered by the vast numbers of profligate halflings plundering his southern border, instigated a series of mounted border patrols to catch the thieves in the act. When the halflings proved too canny for his enforcers, the Count of Sylvania had an entire company of the riders buried alive in Corpse Wood. The next Hexenacht, these wronged souls returned to the mortal world as hexwraiths, aiming to claim Otto's soul.

Spirit Riders = ”These icy passages are the resting place of the dread Spirit Riders who once led the Witch Lord’s skeletal cavalry into battle. They now lie dreaming of past glories, waiting to be summoned to the Black Banner once more.”
    http://heroquestbyphoenix.yeoldeinn....ests/RotWL.pdf

Spirits of Drakwald = ”The darkest parts of the forest are known as the Drakwald Deeps, and are said to be haunted by some ancient evil predating the coming of Sigmar's people to the region some three thousand years ago. The nature of this evil is subject to much speculation. Some tales claim it is the unquiet spirits of the long-slain dragons that once preyed upon the Unberogen tribes when they first settled the area, awakening to snatch travellers from horseback on the forest roads. Certainly, many itinerant merchants tell of the bestial roars that echo from the Drakwald's dark depths, spooking mounts and shaking even the most experienced of travellers.”

Storm Riders = A listed regiment from a very old plastic box set.

Thain's Warriors = Skeletal warriors using shields, led by Lord Thain.
    https://i.imgur.com/5cdeO2Q.png White Dwarf 226

The Beholden = Though they were originally sent to claim the vampire’s soul by a rival vampire lord, the haunting laughter that preceded the hexwraiths’ attack gave Mundvard the Cruel sufficient warning to fashion a circle of protection using nothing more than salt stolen from a butcher’s shop. Whilst they prowled outside the magical barrier, Mundvard prepared a second spell, binding the spirits to his will for all eternity.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/The_Beholden

    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Graveborn

The Dominated Dead = The zombies numbered many thousands, each pair of worm-eaten limbs but an extension of the cruel spirit’s own drive. It was through their throats that the Nameless uttered his battle cry. So sonorous was that unified intonation that a mortal foe would have been set to flight. The vampires, however, merely tasted the implacable will behind the words, and knew that the battle to come would be of the mind as much as of the body.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Dominated_Dead

The Doomed Legion = “To this day, stories of Krell and his Doomed Legion are told across the Empire”. I envision them as skeletal chaos warriors of khorne, or something suitably scary that matches the scariness of Krell himself.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Krell

The Dreadwings = ”Thus did the Varenka Sharpeyes become the Deadeyes, the Tolsburg Hawks become the Dreadwings, and Baron Richter's Sellswords become the Blood Pack.“
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Graveborn

The Forgotten Legion = The skeletal warriors that form the Forgotten Legion, however, are a notable exception. In life, they were the honour guard of Verek the Blade, first castellan of Sternieste and battle chieftain of the original Sternsmen. In death, they are bound by magical oath to defend the castle grounds against any who would attempt to conquer them.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Forgotten_Legion

The Forgotten Legion (Heroquest) = ”The halls through which you now pass are guarded by the Forgotten Legion, the elite of the Witch Lord’s army. They are led by Skulmar. In combat they are to be feared, for they bear the scars of a thousand battles, each one a victory for Chaos.”
    http://heroquestbyphoenix.yeoldeinn....ests/RotWL.pdf

The Graveborn = The Graveborn were those regiments of zombies raised by the Vampire Counts during the End Times. One tendency all von Carstein Vampires had shared since the days of Vlad was to ape the human society they claim to despise, to the extent that they habitually ordered their newly risen dead into separate fighting regiments.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Graveborn

The Hidden = When the northern tribes invaded the cityport, Mundvard imbued these dormant corpses with dark magic and pulled them into the light from their hiding places, blocking the passage of the invaders with a wall of dead flesh.
    http://warhammerfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/The_Hidden

The Hungry = The Hungry are the remnants of Human villagers and peasants that have succumb themselves to cannibalism following the onset of the Civil War. The anarchy loosed on Bretonnia in past years had proved a feast or plenty for the ghoul-kin, for corpses went unburied more often than not. Villages across southern Bretonnia became cannibalistic haunts, as the hunger-wracked survivors looked to their slain kinsmen for sustenance through a harsh winter.

Default Re: Information Thread for Potential New Vampire Counts Units - Update 27/06 - Army of the Cairns

Lore Information Regarding the Vampire Counts

When a series is being continuously updated for a quarter of a century there is bound to be a massive amount of lore that has been created for it. This is an attempt to collate important snippets of lore that I have found during my research into units. I am presenting these in note form rather than in quote form due to the sheer amount of information that is potentially able to be displayed here, but I hope that it will prove useful or interesting to you regardless.

    General Information
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
    - Har-Ak-Iman, an Arabyan Necromancer, is said to be the most evil and depraved man who ever lived.
    https://i.imgur.com/oAvTnom.png White Dwarf 169

    - The Enchanter Drachenfels is a creature of living legend. He has lived, so rumour has it, forever
    - For as long as there have been histories, there has been Drachenfels living in his castle
    - He is a dark figure who stalks the corners of history
    - By human standards he is evil given form, his actions have never been kind, just or noble
    - In his time he has killed, crippled, driven men insane, plotted and destroyed nations and cities
    - He is the ultimate pragmatist
    - He dates from a time before such niceties as ‘good’ and ‘evil’ existed
    - Even Sigmar could not break the power of the Great Enchanter

    https://i.imgur.com/K7GBIba.png White Dwarf 117

    - Human necromancers are not necessarily evil, but they are clearly misguided and unhinged
    https://i.imgur.com/w5iCSrq.jpg 3rd Ed. Armies Book

    - There are those among the undead who ride into battle upon empty carcasses of huge creatures, wheeled in bone and pulled by undead horses
    https://i.imgur.com/zS6HyvW.jpg 3rd Ed. Armies Book

    - The bulk of the undead are plucked from their graves in the form of skeletons, fleshless and unfeeling, fearless and frightening
    https://i.imgur.com/zS6HyvW.jpg 3rd Ed. Armies Book

    - The giant Carrion bird of death is a creature of Chaos.
    - A powerful master of Necromancy can draw it from the Chaos Wastes where it feeds upon the souls of the misguided

    https://i.imgur.com/5ajjPFg.jpg 3rd Ed. Armies Book

    - In the deserts of Khemri, ancient Liche Priests raise mighty armies of undead warriors for their mummified kings. In these cursed domains the dead do not rest easily
    - Sometimes a greenskin horde will make their way to these realms for slaughter and plunder, but none have ever returned alive
    - Once they’ve been beaten in battle, the Liche Priest will raise the goblinoids to serve new masters
    - Unlike dwarfs, elves and humans, undead goblins retain a spark of their mischievous spirit and still bicker like children
    - Often they will find their way back to other greenskins, who call them Dust Goblins

    https://i.imgur.com/wIwjWM9.png Warhammer Chronicles 2003

    - It is perhaps impossible for elves, dwarves or halflings to become Vampires.
    - Vampires find the blood of dwarves stale and distasteful, so they tend to leave them alone.
    - Many vampires, particularly the Von Carsteins, have the ability to conjure storms at will.
    - Vampires don’t just view humans as food, sometimes they come to care for them, as a shepherd does for a sheep.
    - In rare instances, such as Genevieve and Oswald, they can find romance with a mortal. Though this typically ends with the Blood Kiss being given.

Warhammer 2nd Edition RPG - Night’s Dark Masters

    - Vampires sometimes commission paintings of themselves as they can no longer see their own reflection in the mirror.
    - Even a tiny amount of vampire blood has restorative properties. Enough to de-age a person slightly.

    Blood Dragon Bloodline
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
    - Certain blood dragons forever saked their thirst by drinking the blood of a dragon.
    - The Knights of Irrana were a mortal order of knights in Estalia until their grand master concluded that the techniques of Abhorash far outstripped those of Myrmidia and pledged themselves to the dark.
    - Surprisingly, not all Blood Dragons use swords, many use the tools of war that they carried when they were alive.
    - Some Blood Dragons hunt wyverns, griffons, dragons, anything to attempt to cure their thirst as Abhorash did by drinking the blood of a dragon.
    - Blood Dragon obsession with martial perfection and personal glory is often at the expense of their own army.
    - They are often lacking in necromantic powers and even those gifted in it rarely use it beyond to raise the dead.
    - They eschew the dark arts and gunpowder, viewing them as cowardly.

Warhammer 2nd Edition RPG - Night’s Dark Masters

    Lahmian Bloodline
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
    - Neferata claimed the Silver Pinnacle from the Dwarves in a single night, earning her a lengthy section in the Book of Grudges, many troll slayers find their doom when they try to go and slay her.
    - Kislevites inexperience with more seductive vampires allowed Tsarina Kattarin to keep the throne for many years, they were used to dealing with an ice cold, pale, magic-wielding women as their leadership.
    - She was only disposed when the nobles realised no-one would ever succeed her, depriving them of more power. Her frozen corpse is still on display in the Frost Palace.
    - The Tsarevich Pavel Society hunt down vampires in the nobility of Kislev, mostly on the orders of the nobility who don’t want their parents to be immortal and deny them their inheritance.
    - The Tsarevich Pavel Society don’t realise it, but they are being influenced by the Lahmian Sisterhood as a tool against the Von Carstein vampires.
    - The Lahmian’s ultimate goal is to return to Lahmia, rebuild it and have a new cult of the blood to worship them. To achieve this aim they work in the shadows, but sometimes they will wage war with the tomb kings in Khemri to pave the way for their return.
    - Another goal of Neferata’s is to enslave the other bloodlines to her will.
    - Some Lahmian vampires are lucky enough to be immune to holy spells, most are not. However, they undergo desensitisation processes so the instinct to flinch away from them is removed, allowing them to better infiltrate mankind.
    - The Lahmian base is at the Silver Pinnacle, there are many undead dwarves there.
    - Lahmian’s instigate religious conflicts in the world of men.
    - Sonnental in the Border Princes is another base for the Lahmian order, they treat it as a mini-Lahmia of old.
    - There are undead on the walls, and those working the farms are watched by wights risen from the surrounding hills.

Warhammer 2nd Edition RPG - Night’s Dark Masters

    Necrarch Bloodline
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
    - Necrarch vampires feed their timelessness with warpstone or dark magic rather than blood.
    - Necrarchs are the most learned of Vampires, more skilled with sorcery than the sword. When their Great Library burned to the ground, many Necrarch’s remained to burn, so strong was their devotion to knowledge.
    - The Necrarch bloodline was the only one that had any real loyalty to Nagash.
    - The Necrarch reliance on dark magic to satisfy their thirst has left them hideous and corpse-like.
    - Necrarch vampires are solitary individuals, mad, obsessed with gathering knowledge to bring W’sorans prophecy of a world of dust and bones to fruition. They rarely get involved in empire building, usually they just want to hide away to experiment and learn.
    - Outcasts such as mutants are drawn to them.
    - Necrarch’s make use of the blue wind of magic, Azyr, to predict the future.
    - They experiment with patchwork monsters and other corrupt constructions.
    - Beyond necromantic studies, they are keen masters of astronomy, engineering, and other natural sciences.
    - In their desire to free themselves from the thirst completely, some Necrarch vampires accidentally turn themselves into monstrosities akin to Chaos Spawn.
    - New Necrarch Vampires take on Nehekharan names shortly after being turned.

Warhammer 2nd Edition RPG - Night’s Dark Masters

    Strigoi Bloodline
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
    - Strigoi feed on the blood of the dead or of vermin.
    - Though the Strigoi are little more than beasts now, they still dream of rebuilding a kingdom of their own and getting revenge on the other bloodlines.
    - The despair of their low station has driven many Strigoi into madness, they hold shadow courts in graveyards and sewers, and use their ancient titles, believing they are what they once were.
    - The Strigoi take great pride in their incredible strength and consider it a sign of their true place among vampire kind, there are other gifts that they have but they come at a terrible price.
    - They grow to resemble nothing more than beasts, their bodies warping, ears elongating, eventually ending up on all fours.
    - Their minds devolve to a state as well, limitless rage at their loss of power coming to the fore.
    - Ghouls are always the foot soldiers of the Strigoi.
    - The Strigoi also have great fondness for spectres, seeing something of themselves in their forms, same as with wights.
    - Often the Strigoi will dominate Ghouls or the Strigany to be their troops, they prefer the Badlands and Border Princes to live in due to the lack of vampiric influence there and the large amount of ruins they can dwell in to form their own shadow nations.

Warhammer 2nd Edition RPG - Night’s Dark Masters

    - Von Carsteins share a common desire to domesticate their food source.

    - These come from Maatmeses, Lahmia’s corrupt chief justice and Harakhte, the sinister court vizier.
    - Immortal eunuch sorcerers who drink souls are found in Cathay (Harakhte) and mad priests who devour men’s hearts being found in Ind and the Southlands (Maatmeses).

    The Vampire Coast
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
    - The Vampire Coast owes its name to the luckless Norscan raiding party that attacked an Empire merchant ship, taking from it everything including Luthor Harkon’s sarcophagus
    - He never looked back when he landed in Lustria, and carved out a realm on the eastern coast of the continent
    - The winds proved very treacherous on that side of the continent, and this blew in countless wrecks. Over time, he gathered himself an immense zombie pirate army

    https://i.imgur.com/FSx2sxV.png White Dwarf 306

    - Luthor took an expedition to the ruins of Huatl to attain more power and discovered a glyph-covered vault
    - When his zombies attacked the vault, it drained them of their essence and they collapsed
    - When Luthor tried to destroy it with magic, it absorbed the magic and them started absorbing him. He freed himself, but it shattered his mind and severed his connection to the Winds of Magic
    - With his mind in a dozen pieces, he hunts for Slann artifacts in the hopes that they can be used to restore his sanity and his magic

    https://i.imgur.com/H1Iarv2.png White Dwarf 306

    - Luthor Harkon is also known as the ‘Despoiler of the Ancients’
    - He has filled entire books with his insane scribblings, describing the fates of those of the Dragonship Ingranion that he slew
    - The Vampire Coast is on the east of lustria and is a dark forbidding land where tormented souls of the past walk again. These are the domain of Luthor Harkon.
    - Harkon arrived in Lustria in a sarcophagus unwittingly carried onboard a Norse longship
    - He enslaved the crew, bending their minds to his will
    - There are burial mounts through the ancient jungles and his forces are composed of humanoid undead. This is interesting, as it means that there were humans living and being buried in Lustria.
    - Luthor Harkon and his servants build dark towers along the coast to watch for unwary ships.
    - He can summon mysterious magical winds to drive ships onto the rocks.

    - Bagrian, Arch-Priest of Taal, used concealing magic to sneak into Skavenblight and observed the skaven at work
    - He discovered that it was warpstone that had twisted the skaven into the cruel species they are today
    - He stole a black box full of warpstone in the hopes of studying it to discover a way of eradicating the skaven once and for all
    - It turned out that the box he stole was one of their most holy relics, the Black Ark of the Horned Rat

    - Three factions fought against the bretonnians during the Battle for La Maisontaal; Throt the Unclean and Clan Moulder, the Grey Seer Gnawdoom, and Heinrich Kemmler
    - Their alliance soon broke down when the skaven unleashed warpfire throwers on the undead in the hope of killing the Lichemaster but he was immune to their magic
    - The skaven then turned on one another, with Throt suffering horrific, but not life-threatening, injuries
    - Gnawdoom recovered the Black Ark of the Horned One, and the bretonnians then routed the skaven forces
