Weird stretching with 3440 by 1440p?

So, I have that huge curved monitor + some sexy graphics cards in SLI (not naming unless requested).

However, it looks like it stretches the game/crashes? I Know what I am asking is a tall order because of the disconnect with ultra modern tech and an 'ancient' engine, but that is the juxtaposition of this game itself playing it in 2016 isn't it? I LOVE HISTORY. (I was reading the nicomachean ethics on the dump box last night!)

Anyways, let me know of any suggestions to address this issue.

Start the game in windowed, borderless mode and set your game resolution to 2560x1440. Check if "widescreen" option is selected too.
