Default Army Traits for Rome 1

Army traits were the ONLY thing i like about Rome 2 and i would love to see it gets to integrated into Rome 1.

    Just some brainstorm:

Each army has a captain, is it possible to add character traits to it such as lowering upkeep, morale boost, march speed, more defence AND increase upkeep, lower morale (nothing is ever always positive right?) etc.

    Or

Add those effects to individual units under attributes along with "Bonus vs. cavalry; Combat bonus in woods; Good stamina" etc, units will receive its army tradition (effects) for marched in an army over a period of time and depending which region the army is stationed, so 'Germania I' for stationing in the north or 'Asia I' for East, (multiple armies in the same region will be II, III, IV etc)

When those armies are destroyed they are permanently DESTROYED! The Rome 2 reinstall army tradition kills immersion.

What do you guys think? is it possible or no?
Reg: They've taken everything we had and what have they ever given us in return!?
Xerxes: The aqueduct. Reg: Oh yeah, yeah they gave us that. Yeah that's true.
    Activist 1: And the sanitation!
Stan: Oh yes...sanitation, Reg you remember what the city used to be like.
Reg: all right, that's two things that the Romans have done...
    Matthias: And the roads...
Reg: Well yes obviously the roads goes without saying. But apart from...
    Activist 2, 3, 4, 5: Irrigation...Medicine...Education...and the wine...
Francis: Yeah the wine. That's something we'd really miss if the Romans left.

I like your ideas and have been thinking about ways to add some of this in for a long time....but it is difficult given what RTW gives you to work with. There is no way to reward or note a 'unit' in RTW, nor is there a way to give a 'captain' any traits. So all you have to work with are the named characters (generals) that you recruit, or are family members, or offered in marriage, adoption, etc.

On top of that, there is little in the area of 'bonuses' that you can give to a General that would have any effect on his troops.....morale and BattleSurgery being the only ones I can think of.

However, there would be a way to award some things to the General of an army, specific to that army as long as the player left the General IN that army. For example, if that army won 'x' number of battles it could be awarded 'Pia Fidelis', as some Legions were...and from there, if the army and its General won more of them, II Pia Fidelis, III, IV, and so on. Or other titles such as rapax, Ferrata, etc...or a gods name or so on. Region names, however, couldn't be associated with a battle or an army as there is no 'mechanism' for that.

As for a defeated army disappearing....no way to do that unless the player just never recruited it again.

You could add few traits as Ancillaries in the character profile ..

I mean that, when your character stays in Mogontiacum, as Legatus of my most beloved XXII Primigenia, for the right amount of time, he gets an ancillary in his profile which could be "German Veteran Campidoctor" making your guys very expert in killing large amounts of enemies in woods, snow and under most tragic meteo conditions, but if our beloved XXII is involved in some rebellion (Cough! .. Cough! ..) it may happen that its leader gets a negative ancillary, something like "Ambitious Tribunus Angusticlavius" or "Centurio Primipilus and High Ranking Mithras Priest", both the ancillaries may be troublemakers of the worst kind, or even something as .. "Decemvir from Mogontiacum Curia", that is, your Legatus has developed too close relations with the wealthy elites of the city of Mogontiacum, his loyalty is now seriously compromised with local interests ..

There should be a calculated percentage of probabilities to get the right ancillary for any new Legatus taking command of XXII in Mainz, even events like rebellions, victories and defeats, explorations and conquests might generate new Ancillaries, which may become part of the Legion's legacy. The Ancillary traits should have the advantage of being linked to the city, more than to character.

But, being a nonentity in modding, I don't know if it could work and if it's even just possible ..
