Default Call of the Wolves (moot of Northern lords)

With Rickard's return all the lords of the North are called to Winterfell to speak on recent events. The ale and food was prepared for their arrival, even as a great storm brewed to the south.

OOC: All NPCs answer and any PC Northern lords can/should as well.

When all had assembled Rickard called for silence in his hall. I have returned and I intend to be staying. He looked over the room with icy eyes. Aereys made an attempt on my life! He revealed the burns all along his left arm. But the fool failed, I would have slain him myself if that Arryn hadnt beat me to it. He stood. The south has once again been thrown into chaos, a foreign fleet has invaded Kingslanding, I fear it is the Golden Company with some new Blackfyre. The High Septon has declared all Northmen heretics and seeks to bring us to Oldtown in chains for trial! His voice boomed, though he was usually quite he could be thunderous. It is said Rhaegar claims the Kingship as well. He added. I leave it to you my lords! Who if anyone should we support? Rhaegar was the son of a mad man who tried to claim Stark's life, the Blackfyres were those the Northmen had fought, and it seemed now that the south had turned against the First Men. Torrhen had a claim to the throne, but Rickard didn't mention it - he would not put his son in a Viper's nest if it could be avoided.

OOC: Not sure who's still a vassal so I'll push this along.

Hoarfrost Glover was among the crowd of vassals present. He had not heard much of the south, caring not for what they did. However, the denouncement of the High Septon worried him... the Seven and the Old Faith had coexisted for many thousands of years, yet now the High Septon declares them heretics alongside the Red Faith? It was truly an insult! The Glover steps forth, deciding to speak up.

We should find someone who won't label us as heretics surely. Otherwise, the North should go on its own! You have Targaryen blood in your youngest offspring after all, Lord Stark.

The hall erupted as the assembled lords shouted for this plan or that, a noisy bunch Northmen were. I say 'em all! Brandon shouted as he made to stand. The younger Stark brother was already well plied with ale. I wont crown the babe of some dead southerner that tried to kill my kin. He mused. Nor will I bleed to see a Blackfyre King, not after Old Man Torrhen died fighting them. He took a gulp of ale and slammed the mug against the high table where the High Lords sat over looking the more minor lords. We bowed to dragons, real ing dragons. Not these shadows of snakes that took their place!

Karl Manderly had watched the lords in silence, until he raised and spat on the ground:
" the Targaryens! the Blackfyres ! I saw we go back to ruling ourselves, those southern don't understand about us true men".

Dustin banged his goblet on a table, Quiet you lot!
He roared, All of us here are Stark men through and through. I fight for one man and the old gods, Lord Stark. We are proud men, real men, but not brash men. Are we ready for more than cheers?
He asked loudly. Lord Stark would have Rickon Dustin behind him forever, but there were others that would cower at real war.

OOC: Imma wait for this roll to determine what the NPCs want. And any PC lords can still chime in.

OOC: It was a given they all support Stark, but Stark didn't call for himself to be crowned king. His little brother and Manderly did. This was to see if the lords would prefer A crowning a king in the North, B Neturality, C March for Rhaegar (this was before Steffon was claimed King).

A Raven arrives from the Twins: (7 hours until it can be reacted to)

Lord Stark, I have received news from the Lannisters. They march on Riverrun. They try to buy my allegiance BY offering me Riverrun in exchange for my swords in use against the Tullys. Please come to our aid. I shall attempt to confuse my intentions long enough for your arrival. But I fear we will find Riverrun besieged all the same by then. In any case, I shall warn Tully as well

    Signed Walder Frey
