No female leaders, but I believe the Vampire Counts can recruit female agents (Heroes).

The Brettonians also have some female heroes.
It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society.
What about mods? Can they be modded in?
I'm asking because Total War series always somewhat hated women and i like immersion. I know Warhammer has some female characters, and they would fit especially for a faction like Vampire Lords. It would add a little bit of variety and make it easier for women to immerse in the game...

Currently only 3, the vampire counts have the Vampire hero units who are female and the Banshee who are female ghosts. Then Bretonia (currently not playable in campaign but will likely be added free in the future) has a female wizard hero called Damsels.
As far as mods go if you're talking about full units, it's possible they could be modded in but since models can't be added to the game at this point they would all look like clones.
When they start adding the elven factions we will probably see more females.

I see, I guess could have been worse? What about adding another Legendary Lord? I understand Legendary Lords are something like faction leaders. I would love it if one of them was a female... Actually, I would be satisfied with only 1 female in the faction, if she's the ultimate leader of the faction.

There's a new free DLC coming with a new Vampire legendary lord.

I've heard people say it might be Isabela von Carstien, and some of the units say her name when you click on them.
She's technically dead, but since when has that stopped vampires eh?

The first free-LC for legendary lord will probably be either Nerferatha (Seductress vamp) or a knightly guy.
Also the first mini-campaign (I'm guessing around late fall) will probably feature the wood elf queen Ariel as the wood elf leader. (Basically Galadriel from LotR) Wood elves in general have a lot of mixed-gender units.
Pretty sure one of the main legendary lords of the second game (Elf:The game) will be the witch-elf Morathi. Also there might be the High-Elf everqueen as a legendary lord who knows. Both factions have one female unit each.
Third game (Chaos:The game) Valka the Bloody is basically an evil Valkyrie and will probably show up.

There's no ETA on dlc's yet, we haven't heard a thing about it exept for what's on their wiki site. (which basically just says what kind of FLC packs we will get and what formats we can expect out of DLC. but no date, no specific faction etc have been confirmed)
Just gotta drink some patience and wait :3
edit: ok correcting myself, they said they'd like to do all the old world (not possible since the far east was never fleshed out by games workshop) and they want to add all 16 "races" from the 8th edition book.
Would be cool with a female LL. I know the elves got very important female characters\leaders.

One of the Empire counts is, well, countess of Wissenland so if they ever do a subfaction dlc we'll hopefully see her. Right now the subfactions are basically the same as the main faction barring their name, starting area and banner so it would be really nice to see. But maybe someone will mod her into the game regardless.
You know we re talking about warhammer here right? Theres no such thing as white/black. Thats a historical thing in Attila for example you have the african/eastern/northern factions. Whats wrong with that?

Well my comment was deleted, probably because you are right. Because, apparently as all fantasy creators know, when you make up a historical fantasy setting (Warcraft, LOTR, Warhammer), you are better off not adding in black people.
Why would we even create black people if we had the choice? I don't see one person here arguing for their inclusion.
But actually, you only half right, because my comment wasn't just about race, it was about sex too because I said white men. But then again, why wouldn't you want to exclude females from a major role in a fantasy setting too? Why not just give huge breasts and let them play a minor role, like the Vampires in TWW?
And that's the way we like it, otherwise we'd say different.
And if know no one can tell, I'm being sarcastic. But the conscience choice to exclude minorities and females in Warhammer says something about the people that made it.

Do you think Asian produced fantasy games set in asian inspired worlds are consiously excluding others ?
No, they just make something out of their culture and therefore, the first choice is their own people.
Simialrly, most protagonist nations in Warhammer are based on European nations and that is what is represented.
Games about Greek mythology dont exclude Asians and Blacks because they are racist, they just focuse on "whites" because that's how the Greeks are.
What do you mean "hated women" ?
Becuase not including women in a historical setting about ancient, medieval and napolean warfare isnt exactly sexist.
Few nations have female lords.
Kislev and Wood elves come to mind.
Dunno if Neferata can appear or the Everqueen of the High Elves.

I agree; WarHammer is a grimdark setting, immersion in it is immersion in injustice.
Still, to me there is space for some female characters also in the Empire, BUT they should be special exceptions, like Brienne of Tart in GoT.
For sure, not something as seen in Attila, where you have full units of woman ARCHERS: you need to have more strength to use a bow than a spear! And if you use a longbow... (this for human archers, elves are fantasy creatures and not need to follow the same standards)
