Obscure casting feature.

Hey guys maybe I am the only one who missed this for so long but only yesterday after a lot of hours of gameplay I found out that you can Overcast spells, I was wondering what the heck that miscast talent and items were for....

So I just thought I'd let people who were in the same boat as me know that if you click on a spell two times (or tap the associated hotkeys twice) you overcast that spell which changes quite a bit.

Of course it makes the spell more expensive but depending on spell type it changes duration damage size of explosion, and some spells even change from single target to aoe.

The downside is for having more powerful spells you get a chance that your spell is miscast.

Are there any things you though you couldn't do but later on discovered and felt kind of silly?

3 Empire Campaigns, 2 vampire counts, 1 dwarf and 1 chaos campaign and I never knew any of this. Well...time to start a new Empire campaign hahah. I just assumed by getting the 2nd tier of the magic it just automatically did the upgraded spell.

THe one thing that I didn't know until too late was the ability to teleport to quest battles. I raged when I saw that the quests for Carstein were allllll the way in greenskins territory. So to avoid attrition I put him in raiding stance and marched alllllll the way to the quests, like 15 turns wasted as when I got there I noticed the "teleport for 5k gold" button.

Yeah that teleport thing, I didn't know it existed for my first 2 campaigns , it was glorious marching Gelt all the way down to Estalia while the full Northern onslaught was ongoing

I caught that one early on a CA video, or perhaps a review some where. It would of being worse for me as I had Gelt bottling up Chaos in the furthest North when the quests I wanted to do came up, which started I think in the Badlands down south.
The teleport idea is a good one as it keeps the fun there and takes out the tedium, it also with the quests gives the game a different flavour.

I did not know about tapping the spells twice either, and I use a lot of magic and am in 168 hrs, thanks for sharing. Doubt we will be the only one's who missed it!
