    Default About the Title ancillaries

    e. Lord of Wessex, Duke of Winchester/Exeter, etc..
Where do I get the rest? I'm starting to wonder if there is a missing part of the many guides for newcomers to this mod.
I'm not sure how to continue so any relevant info helps.

Playing as Early England my Duke of York died (the old Stephen De Blois. But his son was there to pick it up upon death) and now the ancillary is gone. Was I supposed to "retire" and replace him before death?
Same thing when I took Rennes which was still an independent. Are ancillaries not picked up from dead generals?
Sounds like a faction's starter titles are the only ones they get

    Some possibilities:

Did you wait a turn after the old duke died? You don't get the ancillary immediately but will get it on the next turn.
Does his son have a title already?Your characters cannot have more than one title at a time.
Does his son have the max number of ancillaries? Try removing something (passing it on to someone else) and then waiting a turn to see if you get the title.

His son spawned in york and dad died within a turn or two so he had no prior ancillaries/titles, not sure if I waited another turn though
I'll start over, before this I didn't even know how to trade.

If you move a FM into a city/castle that has a title and that title isn't in use by any other FMs, then that FM usually picks it up if they stay in the settlement for a turn, at least.
