Thread: Spearhead lengths

  1. #1

    Default Spearhead lengths

I noticed that some units have rather small spearheads - the ones that some punic and greek militia hoplites have seem like they are just 4-6 inches in length. Some other units have huge spearheads. How much do they vary?

Asking for extant finds - pictures and measurements would be great. Info about weapons from unit concepts of the above mentioned units would be appreciated.
I am thinking of getting another spear, I want to see what my choices are.

    Please, no jokes lol.

    Thanks

Could it be possible that you are confusing the sides of the spear? Hoplites have the the spearhead groundside which I suspect has to do with their overhead animation requirements.

This looks really small, like 10-12 cm, if the spear shaft is 8 foot long, or 240cm. Wondering if there are historic finds like that.
