NO BORDERS minimap mini mod final

Here is the final version of the minimap mod. I changed the colors of the Portuguese and the Polish to distinguish them. No faction has colors that are so similar that you cannot tell them apart when they share a border now.

You must use a modswitcher to make this work. See this thread for help:

I put the file in:
C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\shabamod\data
and it seems to be working.


I guess it will also work if you put it in:
C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\data

Ontopic:If it works like RTW he changed values of the factions colors in descr_factions.txt so you should put it in XYZ:\M2TW\data.

Yep Descr_Factions was altered. You HAVE to use your own mod folder to get this to work. I included the thread which describes how to do this in post 1. Once you have created your own mod folder just put it in the /data folder of your mod folder and viola, you will have the custom colors and no borders in the minimap.

I did this awhile ago but got fed up with not knowing where the borders were so i put them back in the way i wanted to. i still need to tweak France and the Papal States though.

Ahhh I see what you did Kyoto. Interesting idea. I just prefer to see my minimap empire look like one flowing land under my banner, so I prefer no borders at all.

Am I seeing wrong, or do you have the HRE showing up on the map regardless of FOW? When I use this file the HRE only shows up on the minimap if it's not under FOW. Seems that when it fades down the black it just ends up looking exactly like unexplored space, if you understand my meaning.

I've had to consistently edit the HRE to be a different color (which is a shame. I like the black) or else not use this mod... Just wanted to make sure I wasn't the only one...

It might be your monitor settings. Gamma etc.. because HRE with FOW appears as black not grey to me. Without FOW it appears pitch and utter black.

I was going along with the original BKB super mod for MTW1 which had flashy bright colors for the spanish factions. I was going to go with a bright green at first but I didnt think it matched the uniforms well so I kept it in the range of blue with the turqoise.
